Our family of 6 (3 adults, 3 kids) had a fabulous time in Amsterdam! We loved this apartment, and would not hesitate to rent from Suzanne again in the future.
The beds were comfortable, the house very clean, plenty of towels and all the kitchen tools you need to prepare meals at home. We were a minute walk to the organic grocery store, and all the fun of the main road. But being tucked into the small alley was quiet and comforting.
We enjoyed having wifi and tv, and while the weather didn't cooperate for us to try the bikes, they were ready to go.
Suzanne was a wonderful host, making sure we knew were everything was in town, and checking in on us after we'd settled in. She met us at the apartment very early on the day of our arrival and let us drop all of our bags even though the apartment was still being prepped for us. And she arranged for a large taxi to take us to the airport at check out.
The location is perfect for families. Ground floor apartment, plenty of room, and so close to everything! We hopped on a tram down the street to get to further destinations, and found ourselves loving the neighborhood near the apartment very much. There are tons of quaint shops nearby, restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. We ate well and enjoyed strolling the streets.
We can't wait to return to Amsterdam!
I have rented HomeAway apartments before around the world. This was one of the best! Excellent location on a small quiet street but good proximity to a very lively/happening neighborhood. We walked or biked from the apartment to most places. About 10 minutes walk to the central station. Apartment is on ground floor so access is very easy. It felt safe. Kids room has a bunk bed. We used it for a baby with a playpen (supplied by owner..) Second bedroom is bigger than the picture suggests. Living room is very nice with a large dining table and a well-equiped kitchen.. Most everything is brand new. Internet connection is working just fine... Bathroom has both shower and a bath which was very useful to us with a baby...
The owners Suzanne and Marcel were very helpful and nice. We stayed there with a 2-year old and they helped us with related needs above and beyond our expectations. They also gave us a pair of bikes (including a child seat) that in Amsterdam is a very good thing to have..
Bottom-line - two thumbs way up!!
My wife and daughter and I spent 5 days in this well equipped 2 bedroom apartment in a great neighborhood. Very quiet, off the main streets. The apartment is exactly as described, very functional, and spacious. At the time of our stay the internet was not up and running, which was important for my work. Suzanne very quickly gained approval from a neighbor to allow us to use their connection and the problem was solved. Because this is a new rental, I think the installation was not complete yet.
Suzanne made sure everything was taken care off for our stay. Plenty of linens, great espresso machine (stocked), arranged for 3 bikes for our use, which in Amsterdam was fantastic!! We rode all over the city - what a great bonus. Having a washer and dryer was great, and the bathroom is roomy and super functional.
The apartment was super clean, newly refinished and furnished with excellent taste. Master bed was comfortable with a great closet for clothes. You will definitely feel like you are at home here.
The kitchen is simple, functional and has everything you need to prepare straight forward meals. You are an easy walk/ride to some of the best attractions of Amsterdam - yet you are away from the tourist hotels, making you feel like a local. I was working in Rotterdam for 3 days, and it was an easy 15 minute walk to Amsterdam Centraal train station, and the Fyra hi-speed train runs every 20 minutes and only takes 35 minutes to Rotterdam.
We were in Amsterdam during a major heat wave, and it is rare to find AC in homes here. Would have been nice to have a few fans in the evening for sleeping. Other than that - this is a fantastic place to stay and we would definitely come back next time in Amsterdam. Thank you to Suzanne for making us feel at home.
A great experience !!!! Thank you !!!!
