Bolt Hole in Alfama

This apartment is in a great position for access to the Castle and the City. The surrounding restaurants were all great and we loved the local feel to the area. The apartment is up a steep flight of stairs and was more compact than expected. There were four of us and we managed but there is no comfortable relaxing space for four.

This apartment is a beautiful little apartment to use as a home base in Lisbon.

This apartment is very well located - we enjoyed the ambience of the area- we got to walk the alleyways and discover the unique beauty of the area. Lots of places to eat, drink and enjoy the vista of the waterway below. Two important trams go through this area at the bottom of the street, the 28 and the 12.

Super location

Right in the middle of everything you really want to see. Could be hot in the summer, there did not appear to be air conditioning. The check in was great and easy.

Right in the middle of things

Great location in the old part of the city. Easy walk to many sites such as Rossio Square train station, hop on hop off bus, tons of restaurants. Quiet at night for sleeping except for garbage pickup in the middle of the night every night that we were there. Beds were comfortable. They provided a nice binder with much info about the city and the apartment which was helpful. Waited 45 minutes to check in because Carlotta had three checkins at the same time - not her fault. The building is very very old and unit very very small. Stairs up are very steep and narrow - we are in our seventies and managed by exercising a lot of caution. Half-sized fridge, tiny bathroom with rusty shelves, shower floor is slippery so should have a rubber mat on the floor, kitchen small but everything functional for breakfast only, otherwise we ate out. Carlotta was extremely prompt and helpful when we had questions.

Excellent quiet, convenient location

Access via very steep stairs which were not well lit. Space was fine for two people but would be cramped for four. Certainly seating for four would not be comfortable. Good supply of hot water for showers.
