About this property

Charming Three-Bed Stone House With Mountain and River Views

'Casa Vigneto' is a traditional, rustic stone house that is ideal for families or groups of friends. It can be rented as a stand-alone property or in conjunction with L'Antico Palazzo, a large stone house that sleeps up to 10, and/or 'La Stalla', a barn conversion that sleeps two people, both of which are situated just a couple of minutes' walk away. A shared outdoor swimming pool is located next to 'La Stalla', a 1-2 min walk from 'Casa Vigneto', across a small vineyard and up some steps.

'Casa Vigneto' has truly magnificent views of the Appennini mountains and the river Dolo, and is situated in Villa Bonicelli, a picturesque and peaceful hamlet in the beautiful Emilia-Romagnan countryside. It sleeps up to seven people (there are three bedrooms, plus a day bed with comfortable single mattress in the upstairs sitting room). The house is set back from the road, with a garden, shared with one other property, to the front. Guests have use of an outdoor table with chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue.

The property is furnished with many antique one-off pieces, making it a quirky and original holiday home in which to base yourselves while exploring this stunning and little-known area of Italy. On the ground floor is a large open-plan kitchen/diner with wood-burning stove, exposed stonework and an unusual vaulted ceiling. The dining table seats six, and there is also a comfortable seating area with TV and DVD library. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom (again with vaulted ceiling) and shower room (loo, basin, shower cubicle).

Upstairs, taking full advantage of the beautiful views, there is a large sitting room that opens onto a spacious south-facing covered balcony overlooking a small orchard, a vineyard and the Appennini mountains – a wonderful setting for your al fresco meals! The sitting room itself has an attractive original terracotta floor and a small wood-burning stove and is stylishly furnished. Also on the first floor is a second shower room and two further bedrooms: a comfortable twin room and a double room with doors opening onto a second, east-facing balcony. All three bedrooms have windows with a view of the river Dolo and the mountains.

Delightful Rural Retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in this well equipped property. In contrast to other areas of Italy, we were the only tourists in the area! We found the house very clean and as it had been described on the website. The property manager was extremely helpful in answering all our questions and in booking a 1 day cooking class for us with Gabriella at the nearby Al Ciocco. Gabriella is an incredibly friendly and generous host who, after spending most of the day cooking with us, took us to a nearby parmesan maker after we expressed interest in learning about the cheese making process. The swimming pool is a short walk through the vines and was well used during our stay, particularly by the children The neighbouring residents, when we saw them, were extremely friendly and welcoming. Within day trip access to Bologna, Modena & Parma. Highly recommend for a rural foodie Italian holiday.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location
Pleasant long weekend stay, overall
We enjoyed the stay, the accommodation was fitting us very well, as advertised. A couple of lows: The 7-places stay is a bit far from the pool, with a bit of a steep path for seniors, you may want to consider (and the owner to clarify on the advert, unless I missed it myself). Also, the wifi is available only in close proximity of the pool, and it should be highlighted, especially considering it's not close, and the 4/5G coverage is limited, there. A highlight the support from Alessandro, who was responsive and helping managing our requests.

Lovely
Wonderful property, extremely comfortable. Excellent welcome - Richard took us to see Parmesan being made in the local dairy - very interesting. The pool was lovely, we were in it every day and enjoyed swimming in local rivers and waterfalls. This property is very off the beaten track so although we found plenty to amuse ourselves with, if you want to visit lots of cities etc this probably isn't for you. Would definitely recommend for an active (or totally inactive) family holiday!

Wonderful Pool
A truly wonderful location! We had such a fantastic time swimming in the lovely pool with its splendid view of the mountains. The walk from the house to the pool itself is not far at all and it we really enjoyed the fact that this property is nestled amongst lovely (and very friendly) Italian neighbours!

Unter aller Sau...
Hallo. Schade. Die Landschaft ist sehr schön...
