About this property

Shepherds Hill... A Place To Relax, Revive, Restore

Beautiful MAIN HOUSE (4,000 square feet) with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths sleeps 8 ($400-500 per night). Larger groups must also rent the GUEST HOUSE (2,000 square feet) that sleeps 10-16 (add'l $400-500 per night). Cleaning fee of $200/house. Holiday rates slightly higher. Detailed quote for both homes sent upon request.

The MAIN HOUSE is a charming Victorian Farm House with all the warmth and friendliness of Grandma's...the wrap-a-round porch and swing look out on to the Sierra foothills. The porch is perfect for star gazing or sipping coffee at sunrise. The large country kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking needs. The romantic grounds feature a private pool, a charming bridge over a fish pond, gazebo, grape arbor and tennis/basketball court... here you can relax, read, play... whatever takes you away from the bustle of the everyday.

The GUEST HOUSE has 2 large sleeping rooms upstairs, 2 bathrooms, small kitchen, dining & living area.

Shepherd's Hill in keeping with its name sits on the crest of a hill. The homes are on 9.5 nicely wooded acres which means you are really in the country. You'll have all the peace and privacy you like. Enjoy the pool in the warm months (typically mid-May to mid-October), tennis court with basketball hoops.

You'll find everything you need to refresh, revive and restore.

Please no parties, RVs, and campers allowed. This is a residential neighborhood, and the driveway is sloped.

We are doing enhanced cleaning and having at least 24-hour gaps between guests. Please do not travel if you are sick, or if someone in your household has had coronavirus or exposure to the coronavirus in the last two weeks.

Amazing place for large family to connect
Our large extended family had a wonderful time at this beautiful rambling home. There were plenty of common areas for connecting, playing games, etc. as well as space for people to have some peace and quiet if they wanted it. The home was well furnished and the kitchen was well supplied, and the property managers were responsive and thoughtful. We definitely recommend staying at this lovely home!

This is a very huge and lovely property. We rented the entire property including the guest house. The house is extremely clean. There is no disgusting factor .The Kitchen and all the utensils were super clean. The heating system is good. Never got cold in the house even though it was raining all the time.We will certainly rent it out again.

We fell in love with this property and want others to enjoy its charms. The peace, beauty and comfort of this place will relax and refresh anyone who comes to stay. We also offer a Guest House (retreat) on the same property separated by the patio and the pool. Each home rents separately but guests often rent both to accommodate their group needs.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property and want others to enjoy its charms. The peace, beauty and comfort of this place will relax and refresh anyone who comes to stay. We also offer a Guest House (retreat) on the same property separated by the patio and the pool. Each home rents separately but guests often rent both to accommodate their group needs.

What makes this property unique

We love the look and feel of this home. It looks like it might belong in another era. It has an antique woodburning stove in the kitchen - might remind you of what your grandmother used, and a beautiful antique woodburning stove in the wood beamed Great Room - can warm right to your heart. A single Virginia Creeper vine covers half of the tennis court, lovely all summer with brilliant amber and burgundy leaves in the fall. Deer wander through the property especially in late summer when their favorite foods become scarce and they love to eat our flowers (to our dismay), but they are beautiful. The sky is crystal clear at night, a million stars come out. It's quiet every day; can hear the woodpeckers doing what they do best, and the frogs in the pond singing (well, croaking) all night, and the wind chimes, and the little waterfall running into the fish pond. They're good restoring sounds. If you are careful you might even hear yourself think. What a concept in this age of media that never stops inputting.
