Cozy and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

I loved the retro feel. The residence had more than enough room for eight adults to spread out and relax. The billard room was an added bonus. Ned the owner was a pleasure. I will definitely rent again in the future

Great place for our weekend getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Crown Ridge Chalet for a weekend getaway and had such a great time! The location is perfect, VERY close to the downtown area of North Conway and all the hiking trails the area has to offer, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main street and secluded in the woods to give you privacy and relaxation. The property is well taken care of and very homey. Unlike other locations I have stayed where you feel like you are staying in some hotel with bare amenities and the owner just solely rents it out, the Chalet has everything you need and you feel like you truly live up in North Conway. The beds are very comfortable and the pool table was a great added feature for entertainment when we had downtime. The gas Weber grill was great for making meals, with 2 propane tanks on the property so you never have to fear of running out! While there is no A/C, the owner Hugh aka "Ned" provided plenty of fans for every room which worked perfect. The wrap around deck and windows provided amazing views of the mountains and woods. Ned was very responsive and made great effort to ensure we had everything we needed to make our stay as pleasant as possible and even followed up after to find out if there is anything he could have done to make the stay even better for the future! (which I told him there was none and it was great). I will definitely stay at this location next time I make a trip up to North Conway!!

Wonderful place!!! All the comforts of home!

  • 5 of 5

We had our best New Years ever staying in this wonderful home! It is a home! My kids said it was perfect and I agree! First off, Hugh aka Ned the owner is a genuine pleasure! He goes above and beyond to give you all the details and is so accessible for any questions at any time before, during and after your stay!! For example, we though we had left a box of CD's behind and he immediately looked and if found offered to ship free of charge. Of course, we found them stuck under a seat in the car! Hugh aka Ned even followed up with us to see if there was anything he could do better or add to his place. His customer service is top notch!

The house is a home with all the amenities. No need to bring anything as there's every cooking utensil imaginable even a pizza stone. All the beds are very comfy with plenty of blankets and pillows too. We enjoyed seeing all Hugh's aka Ned's family pictures in the home over the years. There's also a guest book to sign.

The house was very clean and the driveway was always plowed as it snowed several days while there. Washer and dryer worked great too.

The house set-up is excellent with everyone having areas to hangout together but also have some quiet time. The living room is all glass with a great view of Mt. Washington. We had a clear day and could even make out the observatory. Very relaxing to sit in front of the fire upstairs ( adult time) while the kids were off having fun downstairs playing pool, watching TV in front of their own wood stove. The pool table was a huge hit with everyone!

There's also plenty of space for boots at the entryway and storing skis, etc. on the wraparound deck. The house is situated in the woods on a hill and even has sleds to use! Plenty of chairs to sit outside in the winter and use the fire pit. We used the Weber gas grill which cooked the Delmonico steaks perfectly on New Years Eve!

The house is a great location for everything!! A three minute drive from Cranmore Mountain for skiing. The lodge was so packed the week after Christmas so our kids easily came home for lunch, a pool game and back out skiing. Getting around was fast and convenient. The house is off the bypass road that avoids all the traffic. Heading to dinner on Main Street or Zebs Candy Store is a four minute drive even with heavy traffic. Also, our kids skied at Wildcat one day and that was only thirty minutes away.

My only regret is that we stayed just three days! Will definitely be back!

Spacious with Great Views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Crown Ridge Chalet for three nights just after the Christmas holiday, along with another family. In all, there were 10 of us (four adults and 6 children). The set up of the chalet was perfectly suited for our families - all of the children enjoyed the spacious downstairs for both recreation (games, TV, pool table) and sleeping (2 bedrooms and one full bath). The adults enjoyed the upstairs - another two bedrooms, full bath, and comfortable, fire-placed living room. Just a few minutes from Cranmore Mountain, we enjoyed three full days of great skiing (it snowed 24 inches during our stay!) and then quickly arrived back at the Chalet for cozy meals and wind-downs by the fire. Planning and communication with the owner was easy and as needed. We would happily return to this comfortable and clean vacation home.

Fantastic views, comforts of home and fun filled vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time last week hiking, hanging out on the deck, going to Attitash for some summer fun, canoeing the Saco River, and driving up Mt Washington (not in that order) with two families of four plus our 74 year old mother. We also took a few scenic drives and made sure to take the long way home on the Kancamagus Highway. This was our first trip to New Hampshire as adults and we left thinking we will have to come back because we didn't put even a dent in the list of fun things we could have done. The house was clean, as described, and all 9 of us slept quite comfortably. We did let the older boys sleep in the game room which gave them a little separation from the younger boys and probably maintained the peace. The kids left thinking of themselves as pool sharks due to the pool table. All the cookware and appliances that you would need are readily available in the house. We did make use of every fan in the house since it was exceptionally warm last week. The deck offers a fantastic view and the peace and tranquility was seldomly broken by any noise until Friday when weekend warriors arrived in droves. We even saw a bear shuffling down the mountain just next to the house. The owner, Hugh, aka Ned, was fantastic to work with and when we go back to NH we will definitely be looking him up so that we can stay again in the Crown Ridge Chalet. Thanks for EVERYTHING, New Hampshire! And Hugh!
