Piece of Heaven in Fairbanks
This place is the bomb! Located just outside of Fairbanks but close enough to nearby attractions like Cleary Summit, Chena Hot Springs, North Pole, etc. We even saw the Aurora at the house. The owner is fabulous as well. In the world of rental property landlords, everyone should be a Rhonda! 😊 Would love to come back during a different season. Highly recommend.

Perfect location
Perfect location outside of the city but minutes away from activities. As it was winter the heated garage was a huge bonus. Everything was exactly as listed and check in/out was super easy.

About the host

Host profile image
I'm a lifelong Alaskan, who grew up in Anchorage, always considering Fairbanks, the rival city. However after working in Fairbanks and the villages of interior AK, I fell in love. I love the warm summers & cold winters. I've moved away a couple different times, but always became homesick & had to return. There is something to the mountains that appeals to me. A lot of people come to see Denali, I myself prefer the Wrangell-St Elias range out of Glennallen. I have spent several years working remote area's of AK. I enjoy traveling extensively and meeting new people from all walks of life. I enjoy photography and love car museums. Reading, especially in the winter. I rarely watch tv and have spent years without one. Due to an injury I now work in Anchorage behind a desk instead of in the field, but I spend most of my time off enjoying Fairbanks. I like real & non pretentious people and am blessed to have friends all over the country from all walks of life. I stay here as frequently as possible, but I also wanted a way to earn extra income and allow other people to enjoy Alaska's beauty at a reasonable price.

Why they chose this property

I bought this property, because I liked the somewhat remote out of town location as it's very peaceful. I didn't want to live off the grid though and go back to using an outhouse. I continue to work on remodeling the property. I also like it being on the outer loop of Fairbanks, so it's quick & easy to get on the highway from either direction. Then it's a straight shot north or south depending on what you want to see/do. I like the rugged look and try to keep the place natural, not liking the manicured look. I get frequent animal visitors, mainly moose, fox, rabbit, an occasional bear. The yard blooms with wild roses & fireweed around the edges. I like to have occasional dinner parties here, you can make more noise and have more freedom then you can in an apartment or city setting. Just follow the basic rules of common courtesy and respect for neighbors not on vacation. Neighbors tend to keep to themselves and we generally respect each other's privacy and space.

What makes this property unique

This location gives me serenity, I like to sit in the living room and watch the snowfall. I like the close proximity to the bike path and the Double Eagle restaurant. I like it being close to the roadway without being right on the road. I enjoy being surrounded by trees, and the quietness, compared to living in the city.
