Nice quiet place that is actually in a forest with all amenities included. However, many cobwebs around the place and a pervasive bad odor through out that did not subside with leaving all the doors and windows open for an hour. Not impressed with having to take all the garbage out where it was not clear where to take it and having to take all the bed laundry downstairs.

Rustic Cozy Cabin
This cabin is very quaint and cozy. There are two queen beds with a large window on each side. The stairs are between the two beds as well as a drop down shade you can use for privacy. The living room has two comfy recliners, a couch and plenty of throw blankets around. There is a washer/dryer in the bathroom, the bathroom was extremely well stocked, as was the entire kitchen! We didn't have the time to cook, but everything you might need is there for guest use. Outside there is a grill, a fire pit on the ground and a deck fire pit as well, with plenty of seating for all of this!. There are two tv's, one up and one down. I was able to stream. The drive up the mountain would be "iffy" if there had been rain, but it was dry when we were there. The only difficulty we had was the stairs. And it is no fault of the owners. We are over 65 and the beds being upstairs and the bathroom being downstairs was not a particularly good fit for us. But I will say that the owners have done everything for safety. There are lights on the stairs that illuminate as soon as you step on that tread, so they are not lit up all night, only one at a time as you use them. Quite clever! Overall, I would say this is definitely a top notch place to stay if you want to be away from city lights! For those who love adventure, there are plenty of trails and rentals available right at the bottom of the mountain.

About the host

We really enjoy hosting! We have found our guests to be some of the most interesting and personable people that share the same love for the outdoors that we do. We're happy to share our second home with you.

Why they chose this property

We chose this as our first cabin in Duck Creek Village because it is truly is a nice little get-away that is very comfortable and perfect for 2-4 people. We didn't want a large mountain home. We wanted a rustic place to share with family and friends that made them feel welcome.

What makes this property unique

This cabin has the rustic touches that make it just that....a cabin in the woods. It's intended to allow our guests to sit back and enjoy the surroundings yet close enough to venture out to several national parks for the day. The front deck is my favorite place. It's the perfect place to watch the world go by. Deer, squirrels and turkeys are regular visitors too.
