Spectacular log home on the outskirts of the forest, The Carpathian Log Home offers comfortable accomodation on three levels. The ground floor comprises of a high ceiling living room with fireplace and glass facade to the valley bellow, open plan modern and fully equiped kitchen, a dining room area for 10, a spacious bedroom with ensuite full bathroom, sauna and jacuzzi. The ground floor is surrounded by a large terrace, offering magnificent views to the mountains and the valley.
The first floor comprises of two large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and own terrace, while on the third floor there's a bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a gym area with breathtaking views.
The house is surrounded by an apple orchard and green pastures, Bucegi Mts on the east side, Piatra Craiului Mts on the west side, at north is the valley above Bran and you can see the Rasnov Fortress in the far back.
Outside you will find a wooden gazebo near the bbq area, a wooden swing for your relaxing afternoons while enjoying the sights. The villa gets sun all day long and the privacy of the area is perfect for sunbathing. Being situated on a very high position, near the forest line, the Carpathian Log Home is rather isolated from the main village. You won't be disturbed by any noise here, perhaps only the cow bells will break the silence. At night you can see the lights of the village bellow, while the star lights will seem closer than ever from here.
There are many hiking trails in the area, starting from the small villages of Bran and going all the way up to the peaks, but you can also just walk around and never get bored. The Bran area is also perfect for cycling, mountain biking or more off road adventures.
The local ski slope is only a 5 minutes drive from the house, but the famous Poiana Brasov with its modern slopes is also very close, only a 15 minutes drive on a very scenic road.
I'm a nature lover and a world traveler. I've been using the site as a traveler before and I loved the whole experience, so I thought about listing my home as well. It is a beautiful log home in the mountains, with spectacular views in and out. It's been decorated with love and natural materials, for a relaxing, comfortable living. This is where I live and you will find here bits of my life and personality. I trust you will find it as homey and warm as I do and you will want to come back sometime:) Enjoy your staying in Bran and my home.
Emanuela Butnaru purchased this chalet in 2012
The magnificent views from the glass fasade livingroom made me fall inlove with this house from the first sight.
The space is magnificent, well kept and perfect for a big family holiday - every modern amenity to hand! However, it was Emanuela's warm welcome that put us at ease and made us feel at home. She was on-hand to answer any and all questions! It was our first experience in Brasov/Bran and it is truly unforgettable. The views from the chalet are spectacular! The fire is warm and cosy on a cold night - the house was always warm! Thank you Emanuela for your wonderful hospitality! I'm sure we'll see each other next year!
We stayed here in November, the drive getting there has many scenic routes with the beautiful views of the mountains.
I would recommend taking a sat nav, but don't worry if you get lost here because the scenery is totally worth it.
The log cabin is absolutely beautiful, it is set in a dramatic back drop of the carpathian mountains. Only a few minutes away from Bran Castle. It's is also not to far to Brasov too.
I cannot express how much I enjoyed the stay in this place. If you need to refresh your soul and want to get away for peace and scenery this is the place to go.
The cabin was clean had everything you need for the kitchen to cook anything you require. The bed was the best bed I've ever slept in. Sofas were comfortable too.
Romania as a whole is a fantastic country, most people spoke English and everyone was very helpful.
Emma and her partner were very helpful especially with the logs for the fire and with info on places to visit.
For star gazing it was magical as you can clearly see the constellations and we even saw many shooting stars
We will defiantly be going back to this place again next year.
Large comfortable space, great facilities, better than excellent Wifi with fibre to the premises 50 Mbps plus. Highly recommended. Very friendly owner who provided excellent service being very responsive and flexible.
The house in reality was much more beautiful than the pictures.
We were a group of 13 people- 6 adults and 7 children, Emma brought us two more mattresses for the children, although in the end we did not need tham because we the living room sofas can be opend to double beds.
The house equipped with everything you need, even games for kids, smart TV, eating utensils, dishwasher, washing machine, towels, sheets, comfortable and large beds , a large dining table we could all sit down and eat together, refrigerator, oven, stove, outside was a barbecue, and much more ... In short, everything we needed.
The house is a few minutes drive from Dracula Castle , supermarket and restaurants.
Emma did everything she could to make us feel at home, and we strongly recommend you to get there.
The first word when we arrived was : WOW !!! Ema and Dan, our wonderful hosts had us provided with perfect indications and so it was very easy to find the house and then the key. We, six adults and a fiveyear old, found everything we needed for a two weeks stay.
Ema contacted a doctor when the kid was ill, Dan helped with his good connections to get it repaired immediately when we had a flat tire.
All our expectations were met - their house was a real home away from home for those two weeks.
Stargazing sitting outside in the gazebo was divine, the full moon rose over Bran Castle - very romantic nights! The cozy beds donated us deep sleeps.
Thank you Ema and Dan - hope to see you again one day!!!
The Carpathian Log Home is suitable for ski holidays, relaxing away from it all retreats for families with kids, lovers of nature and traditions, as the village of Bran is the gate to the mysterious Transylvania with its centuries old fortresses and ancient popular traditions. The nearby city of Brasov or the Sighisoara fortress are rich in history and culture, exquisite pubs and clubs and most of all, friendly romanians willing to share the beauties of their country with worldwide tourists.
Located 25 Km from Brasov and 190 Km from Bucharest, Bran represents both a historical place and a legend. Bran is the gateway between Transylvania and Valachia with one side lined by the Piatra Craiului Mountains and the other by the Bucegi Mountains. Bran hosts one of the most visited castles in Europe, the Dracula Castle, the source which inspired the most fascinating legend of the blood- shedding Count Dracula. The Castle was built by the inhabitants of Brasov in the interval 1377-1382 to protect the mountain pass from the invading Turks. At the beginning of the 20th century it became the favourite residence of Queen Maria of Romania, a queen for whom the Bran inhabitants manifested a deep gratitude, as they also benefited from a profound appreciation during the Romanian monarchy. Although the name of Bran is closely linked to that of the Bran Castle, the region is extremely rich in tourist attractions: the Moieciului Gorges, the Bucegi Mountains and Piatra Craiului, Pestera Dambovicioara, Cetatea Rasnovului (Rasnov Fortress), and also Brasov and the neighbouring Saxon fortresses from Prejmer and Harman. More distant sites can also be visited, such as: Peles Castle in Sinaia, the medieval fortress Sighisoara (UNESCO Patrimony), or Biertan, one of the biggest Saxon fortresses in Transylvania. Bran has also become a place which competes with the town due to its smart villas built in recent years. Living within a well-meaning nature, with hardworking and welcoming people the people from Bran always knew how to benefit from the assets they had from tourism. Rural tourism has been practised in the region for some decades, representing a feasible alternative to the large hotels in the Valea Prahovei or Poiana Brasov resort. Poiana Brasov resort is a traditional place for skiing, but also for spending Summer holidays. the access from Rasnov is pretty short (9kms). The family-like atmosphere that overwhelms you in the rural homes, the people who know to value a 'thank you' coming from the bottom of the heart of a tourist after a good wealthy meal, hosts who will proudly show their tastefully decorated houses, are only some of the arguments which will persuade you to prolong your stay in these places.
