A wonderful opportunity in a beautiful location

We visited Carol's property in April of 2024. The rental did not disappoint! This is a clean, updated, open floorplan with PLENTY of space for the three of us (probably could have been ok with 5 people). Wonderful kitchen, 2 tables/desks to either work at or play board games, spacious bedrooms. Yard is maintained impeccably and the view of the water is fantastic. The beach is accessibly down a someone steep path, but removed enough to enjoy the sea air without actually being ON the beach. The outdoor dining table, portable hot tub, and the fire pit are great conveniences. We enjoyed the tub every day before bed. The property is great in that is close enough to town (1 minute), popular parks (5-15 minutes), Victoria (40 mins), and other outdoor destinations (anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours) to enjoy all aspects of the island. The little town of Sooke is a hidden gem that has all the amenities you need! Carol was an extremely helpful and communicative host. There was an issue with booking on the part of VRBO support, but direct communication with Carol took care of everything. She's the bomb. :-) The property is just off a (somewhat) busy road. There is some road noise but you can't hear it in the apartment. The road, however, connects with all the great places nearby, so that was convenient. There was some noise from apartment above but never before 9 am and never after 8 pm. We didn't find it to be an issue whatsoever. We strongly recommend this listing!

Ocean get away

My stay was amazing! Being able to see the ocean where ever I was in side the suite or out was breath taking. It was very difficult to leave. Carol was very kind and thoughtful host... her accommodations were spot on to her listing. My dog was very happy with the grassy yard right out the door. Looking forward to returning in spring. Well appointed and nice view

This suite is very well appointed. The kitchen and home is very well equipped with what you need to cook even a big meal. Very home like feeling and the living room area comfortable to relax. The kitchen looks great very the living room And you can see the lake from the kitchen as well. The walk down to the lake front has a good path but is not for someone with mobility issues, however the view from the top is very nice. The home is located east to get to and just a short drive to some very nice walking paths. The beds were not very comfortable to us, but the Owner seemed receptive to my opinion on that. The Owner lives above but she respects your privacy and responded to concerns & requests.

Fantastic!

Loved my stay in this beautiful suite. The kitchen has everything you need. The couch and chairs outside are all great spots to sit with coffee and take in the ocean view. The hot tub made this getaway feel like a retreat. Carol is so responsive and had lots of great recommendations of restaurants and activities in Sooke. Thank you so much!

I am a professional who works lots from home, and I feel very grateful to be able to do that in Sooke! I was born in Scotland, lived in Ontario, and Northern BC, and have lived here since 2011.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with the property, and Sooke, when I was travelling through. I had a property on one of the Gulf Islands, and to me, this made more sense, for my work, and ability to access amenities. I love this property because it is so accessible, yet, when I look out the window to the ocean, I see nature, wildlife, trees... and peace!

What makes this property unique

The suite is so modern and convenient, and allows travellers to have modern amenities, and yet still experience a bit of nature. It's a duplex, so it is not completely isolated, yet more private than a hotel, and much more convenient - and cheaper! Separate spaces for family members, kitchen facilities, and a cosy sitting area for conversation or to watch a movie.
