About Caroline Wallrock

Charlie and I are antique dealers and we have four children, one of whom helped decorate and furnish this wing of the house. We've travelled widely and lived overseas but always return to this beautiful part of the world.

Why Caroline Wallrock chose Lymington

Tweed House and Cloisters have a saucy history. Tweed House was built by Captain Symonds for his new bride Lucinde Touzi in 1815. They had met in the Caribbean as the result of incredible adventures. Captain Symonds rescued Lucinde from the siege of San Domingo, brought her back to England and married her once she came of age.

Later owners, the Moens, were kidnapped on their honeymoon in Sardinia. Mrs Moens was released and the people of Boldre chipped in to raise the ransom to free Mr. Moen.

We had a lovely spacious and comfortable stay at Cloisters. Plenty of room and a warm house. Beautiful, quiet garden. Thank you.

Fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our needs, plenty of large bedrooms and two lounges was perfect as we were a big group with children so lots of room to spread out. A lovely big dining table that conformably fit ten of us and great kitchen facilities with all amenities (two fridges which was useful) and two highchairs. Lovely to have tea and coffee already there as well. Close to Lymington which was great for an afternoon out and the red lion pub was very close and we had a good lunch there. The only slight draw back was that there were only showers in the two en suites, with only a bath in the main bathroom, it just meant co-ordinating shower times around when the children were sleeping etc.

Fabulous house for a weekend stay and 76th Birthday celebration

  • 5 of 5

For 6 adults and 4 children it transpired to be a wonderful weekend in one of the nicest spots of the New Forest. The house is full of character with ample room for ten. A great weekend had by all!

Christmas 2017

  • 5 of 5

Us three families had a fantastic Christmas in this house.

Everything that we could have needed to cater of everyone was there at our disposal.

Really warm cosy house.

We all had a great time together and our dogs enjoyed the walks in the forest.

Wanted to book again for this Christmas but someone beat us to it.

You wont be disappointed if you stay here.

Very friendly owners too.

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

We had a very comfy stay for New Year in a lovely house in beautiful surroundings. The rooms were very spacious and everything was catered for, a separate lounge for the younger generation and a dining table big enough to seat all of us. The beds were very comfortable also. Our hosts were very friendly and looked after us well

Perfect place for a retreat, peaceful, comfort all under one roof.

  • 4 of 5

As a group of 8 women we had a fabulous weekend at Cloisters. The house is so elegant and beautiful with a lovely peaceful air to it. The rooms are comfortable and airy especially the amazing two double bedrooms. The large size of the property doesnt stop it from being cozy once its warmed up!! The two toilets are void of heating which is a bit of a nasty shock this time of year but not enough to put someone off staying. The house contains all that you could wish for in terms of kitchen equipment and utilities. This normally wouldnt have been our first choice because it doesnt have an open fire and usually this figures high on our list of priorities, we left it late booking and couldnt find what we really wanted BUT having stayed in Cloisters we wouldnt allow ourselves to be put off from staying there again. An amazing property, well worth a visit.

The New Forest is one of England's gems. The rural landscape of forest and heathland is less than two hours from London but seems a world away. The New Forest ponies graze on the common heathland and are joined by donkeys, cattle, and even pigs in the autumn. An extensive network of walking and bicycle trails make the area easy to explore. Minutes away are beaches along the Solent. Lymington is home to a vibrant boating community. The Isle of Wight is easily reachable by ferry. The New Forest is easily accessible by car or train. Or sail into Lymington.
