Cloisters is a self-contained wing of a spacious Regency home with the benefits of modern conveniences. It has been newly refurbished for self-catering holiday lets. All the rooms are furnished with a pleasing mix of antiques and contemporary pieces for your comfort. We offer a 'stock-the-freezer' service by arrangement so you can start your holiday as soon as you arrive. No need to shop. Alternatively, we can organize catering with a local cook.

About Caroline Wallrock

Charlie and I are antique dealers and we have four children, one of whom helped decorate and furnish this wing of the house. We've travelled widely and lived overseas but always return to this beautiful part of the world.

Why Caroline Wallrock chose New Forest

Tweed House and Cloisters have a saucy history. Tweed House was built by Captain Symonds for his new bride Lucinde Touzi in 1815. They had met in the Caribbean as the result of incredible adventures. Captain Symonds rescued Lucinde from the siege of San Domingo, brought her back to England and married her once she came of age.

Later owners, the Moens, were kidnapped on their honeymoon in Sardinia. Mrs Moen was released and the people of Boldre chipped in to raise the ransom to free Mr. Moen.

Lovely location,house and grounds

Great family break enjoyed by all especially the grandchildren who loved the spacious house, garden and playroom. The weather was great so a drink or two was enjoyed outside in the gardens. We had a couple of great meals at the red lion pub and received excellent service. The area is beautiful wonderful countryside, beaches and lovely little villages. The grandchildren had a brilliant day at Paulton park(peppa pig). To sum up the break was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Caroline

Beautiful house

Great house, fab for our weekend stay. Only small negative is that one of the showers sprayed the whole bathroom.

Owner's Response: Apologies for that - we did our best with faithful duct tape as had the shower part was ordered but it didn't arrive in time for the Friday changeover. All fixed now. Caroline

Fantastic base for New Forrest

We had a great time. Plenty of space for everyone in the house and we took full advantage of the spacious garden and tennis court. One evening we used the provided barbecue for a nice evening. It served perfectly as a base to enjoy the best of the New Forrest.

Wonderful property set in beautiful gardens.

We had a lovely stay at Cloisters to celebrate a 70th birthday. Rooms are beautiful and generous in size with plenty of space for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the tennis and found the location ideal for visiting local attractions. Would love to return one day.

The New Forest ponies graze on the common heathland and are joined by donkeys, cattle, and even pigs in the autumn. An extensive network of walking and bicycle trails make the area easy to explore. Minutes away are beaches along the Solent. Lymington is home to a vibrant boating community. The Isle of Wight is easily reachable by ferry. The New Forest is easily accessible by car or train. Or sail into Lymington.
