The Gold Mill Town Home is located on Prospect Mountain on a ridge overlooking the mountain town of Hill City. Downtown is within an ambitious walking distance. (Only a few minutes down-hill but remember the trek home is all uphill!). The deck offers spectacular views of our quaint little main street, downtown, and surrounding mountain vistas. Built in 2006, this has become a favorite setting for motorcyclists, classic and vintage car owners due to paved roads to the doorstep and a double car garage. We have parking for trailers for ATV enthusiasts on an empty lot on Sluice Run Court cul de sac. Also, a perfect spot for family gatherings when rented with the Prospector, which is VRBO listing # 162608.

Three bedrooms and three bathrooms make this town home popular for couples traveling together as well as a family group. There is a gas grill and outdoor tables and chairs on the deck expanding across the front of the rental. This is a NO PETS, NO SMOKING rental.

The primary bedroom has a king bed with an en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. Wall A/C unit and cable TV for the master bedroom. The other two bedrooms have a queen bed in each with a ceiling fan and ample closet space! The bathrooms are adjacent to each of the bedrooms with queen beds. A folding portable firm queen mattress is available and is recommended for children in the group of 8.
The open kitchen/dining and living room area also has a wall A/C unit and flat screen TV with cable. Unlimited internet access.

Sluice Run: During the Black Hills gold rush of the 1870’s, miners would ore the gold and wash it down gullies by the way of a water channel controlled by a gate called a sluice.

Great stay in Hill City
We really enjoyed the accommodations. It’s a very nice place and easy access to all the attractions of the Black Hills. We loved seeing the 1880 Train go past down the hill a few times a day. Very close to downtown Hill City, which is a fun place to walk around and patronize the cute stores, restaurants, and ice cream parlors. Would love to stay again!

Why they chose this property

We had this Town Home built on Prospect Mountain which was an investment property for us. It has stunning views of the surrounding mountain area as well as a "birds eye" view of the downtown area of Hill City as it sits on a mountain overlooking the town.

What makes this property unique

Guests enjoy the view of the 1880 Tourist Train as it ventures up the Hills from Hill City to Keystone and back. Many guests appreciate the pavement to the doorstep (no gravel). This is a popular accommodation along with the Prospector side (deck doors between the two can be unlocked) for family gatherings for up to 16 people.
