About this property

Home on Gulf of Mexico canal with easy open water access (3 minutes at idle) and terrific views. Home has 4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms and sleeps 8-10 with full kitchen, washer / dryer, satellite TV, screened porch with bath towels and bed linens included. This home is ideal for fishing, scalloping, diving and boating in the Gulf of Mexico. Home has been recently updated with all new beds (1 king, 5 XL twin 1 trundle) plus two fold out futon sofas. The outside decking, crows nest and floating dock (thanks to hurricane Hermine) have all been recently rebuilt. There are 3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom on the ground floor. The floating dock can accommodate two 16' - 18' boats or one large (25'- 30') boat. Please note the home is on Cedar Island (not Cedar Key) next to Keaton Beach between Steinhatchee & Perry, Florida. This home is situated on a canal which opens to the Gulf of Mexico, which means minimal time at idle (see video in the listing). Come enjoy some peace and quiet along with the great fishing and scalloping grounds Florida's Big Bend area has to offer not to mention the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Scalloping fun!

This place is a great place to take a larger family. The scalloping was amazing and the fishing was really good too! The house was stocked with plenty of cooking utensils and the dock had enough space for two small boats. We had a great time!

Not up to standards

The carpet was very dirty. The master shower water was luke warm even though it ran for a long time. The oven dial was loose so you did not know what the cooking temp was the outside was extremely run down. It was not what I expected from VBRO.

Great spot!

Highly recommend, great house, very roomy, everything you need. Boat positioning was a little tricky, especially from the land side while trailering, but plenty doable with a little forethought. And they do tell you beforehand not to go back there with your boat on the trailer, however I had no choice, but was still able to get turned around.

Our family has fished and scalloped in this area for years and we actually rented this house for a couple years before buying it. Our family enjoys the laid back setting and easy access to open water.

Why they chose this property

It was a nice and quite area and the primary reason was the easy access to open water (about a 3 minutes) versus the long idles at of Keaton Beach and Steinhatchee.
