Roomy, comfortable and exceptionally well supplied. Owner provided a selection of breakfast items; juice, milk, coffee, tea and an assortment of breads, as well as biscuits, cheese, fruit and more. Exceptionally comfortable and high quality king-size bed. Good location in Henley with easy access off-street parking. Highly recommended.
Great host, very knowledgeable. Very well stocked and close to everything. I highly recommend eating at 3 Tuns as well. Thank you so much for all your help Shahid!
Great Place and Great Host
This was an amazing little place to stay for the weekend! I highly recommend it to anyone that is traveling to Henley and I absolutely will be staying there when I return. Thank you Shahid for everything!
Lovely stay in a lovely town with lovely people
Where do I begin?
Henley-on-Thames is a beautiful town on a winding river, filled with kind people, historic sights, plentiful shopping, an abundance of flowers, and delicious food and beverage offerings. (The Ale Trail is pretty fun, too!) There is plenty in Henley to keep one occupied, but with some time and wanderlust, the traveler is within easy reach of London, the Cotswold, and many other places of interest. We did some wandering and loved coming back to our home each evening.
The studio apartment is impeccable-clean, well-appointed, and stocked with everything the traveler needs for a comfortable stay. Really-everything! We were treated to a wide selection of breakfast options, with all the ingredients and tools we needed to dine in luxury. The bathroom is stocked with accouterments. And then there's that mattress-better than any I've slept on in my life. Along with the pretty wood floor, full kitchen, and tasteful decorating, we felt quite spoiled. The location is also perfect, providing just a 10 minute walk to the town center.
Best of all are hosts Shahid and Yasmin whose warm and generous hospitality make this the only place we would think of staying in Henley. Thank you Shahid and Yasmin for a wonderful vacation, and for welcoming us into your family.
Yasmin and I thank you for such a splendid review and so kind words, which are humbling indeed. It was such a great pleasure to meet you and your lovely family and spend some time.
We will certainly look forward to seeing you again and welcoming you to our family.
With very best wishes,
Yasmin & Shahid
We really enjoyed our stay. From what we had read in advance, we were anticipating good things - previous reviews had been good, the description of the accommodation seemed to be just what we were looking for – but I have to say that our expectations were exceeded. The accommodation matched up to its billing; I guess that is to be expected, but it’s not always met. The “wow factor” came with the standard of specification (the studio apartment is well laid out, nicely furnished and has all the features and appliances you could wish for), and the extras that were provided. The owner provides all sorts of food, condiments, toiletries and kitchen necessities that make a stay so easy, it’s just like being at home. It’s clear that much thought and planning has gone into making this not only a comfortable and well-spec’d studio apartment, it really is a mini “home from home”. Ideal for a short stay, it’s only a short stroll from the centre of Henley (10-15 mins max); and we’d happily stay again. Thank you!
I humbly and sincerely thank you for your such a fantastic review and kind words and sentiments, which are very encouraging.
It was our pleasure indeed to be your host and delighted to meet such a nice and pleasant couple as you. I look forward to welcoming you some time in the future.
With very best wishes,
Shahid & Yasmin Butt
The property is a converted double garage with it's own front door and the most comfortable bed!!
Myself and three friends had weekend tickets for the Rewind Festival, we have camped in previous years but wanted somewhere we could have a clean toilet and warm shower without having to queue for ages.
This property was amazing!!
Although it's only a studio apartment it has everything you could ever need and was certainly more spacious than a tent and accommodated the four of us perfectly for three nights.
We were so relieved to be able to have a warm shower and dry our hair after standing in the rain for hours on the Sunday evening.
Couldn't imagine going back to a damp tent with nowhere to hang our soaked clothes.
On that note the hairdryer was fantastic! Not like some you get when you're away where you could dry your hair quicker by blowing on it yourself.
The kitchen had so much food in it, more than my own at home!!
We all had a filling breakfast every morning, there was lovely bread in the bread bin, an excellent full fruit bowl, croissants, pain au chocolate, fruit juices, bacon, sausages, eggs and so much more than you would ever expect.
In the bathroom there are lots of different types of shower gels, shampoos, conditioners etc.
The bed is a Tempur, super king size and is so comfortable you can't help but having a restful nights sleep.
The sofa bed is a double size and was quite hard which suited two of us who prefer a firm mattress.
The owner Shahid is a really lovely man who was so helpful with advice on directions to where we needed to go and provided us with anything we needed, i.e. extra towels, toilet rolls etc. nothing seemed too much.
The house is situated in a quiet road and is a 10/15 minute walk into town.
We highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again in the future.
Thank you again Shahid and family😊
Many thanks for your such a detailed review and kind words, which is most appreciated. It was indeed pleasure to meet you and your lovely friends and very much hope that you will come and stay again in the future. My very best wishes to you All.
When Henley on Thames throws a party the world notices. This is a town with an international reputation for the world's greatest rowing regatta, the 'joie de vivre' of the summer arts festival plus 80's music feast Rewind to measure up to. And Henley respects tradition.
A 12th century South Oxfordshire market town, Henley's historic heart sits a few strides from the river Thames. The main street has many Georgian frontages covering older buildings and among the 300 buildings within the town designated 'of special architectural or historical interest' are St Mary's church, the town hall, market place and Henley Bridge. Pick up '10 Brilliant things to do', the Henley Environment Trail, the 'Henley Trail' the Henley Town Map or the Visit Midsomer - Southern Trail leaflets to provide more inspiration.
Henley's riverside location – surrounded by a Chiltern landscape of wooded hills and green fields – lends itself to relaxation, long lunches and power shopping. There's a pub where Charles I drank, a Chantry house, a butcher that smokes his own bacon and shops still offering a personal touch.
This is a town dedicated to enjoying the river. So bring a picnic, pick up a copy of Wind in the Willows and settle for an hour on the waterfront. Watch others messing about on the river, or hire a boat and join in the fun – the summer straw boater and stripy blazer combo is optional.

What's on in Henley on Thames:
Henley could easily be renamed Festival-on-Thames for the number and variety of annual arts, sports and traditional events hosted in and around the town.
Each summer 'Henley Reach' sees the world's elite rowers compete at the Royal Regatta. They are cheered on by spectators enjoying the sport, the champagne and the strawberries. Enclosure dress code is strictly enforced yet non-enclosure spectators can equally soak up the occasion and encourage the crews. It's free to watch from the riverside so pick your spot well.
Henley Festival of Music and Arts attracts some of the world´s top entertainers to perform on a floating stage in front of a dinner-jacketed audience. Mixing classical, jazz and popular music, the festival also includes exhibitions of art and sculpture.
Remember to also look out for the fabulous Henley Fringe where many performers hone their acts for Edinburgh; Henley Literary Festival one of the preeminent festivals on the circuit, attracting a host of famous authors, and the 80's Rewind Festival.
Henley is situated in the county of Oxfordshire, in South East England. It is within short distance of some of England's busiest cities, including London, Reading and Oxford.
