Just a short stroll from Baker Street Station you will find this bijou Georgian apartment. A perfect place from which to explore London and visit the well known sights and attractions.

This quiet street has no through traffic so you won't be disturbed at night, yet you have London on your doorstep. Madame Tussaud's and the Sherlock Holmes museum are just around the corner. Marble Arch and the famous shops on Oxford Street are just a 15 minute walk through the streets of the West End. Hop on a bus or tube from Baker Street Station and before you know it you will be admiring Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Take a stroll along the South Bank and visit the London Eye. The British Museum, the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square and Tate Modern are all within half an hour’s travel.

This is authentic London so try traditional Fish and Chips at the Seashell or enjoy Sunday lunch at The Chapel, my favourite local pub with a fine selection of beers and a gourmet menu. All of these are just a few minutes away. A little further along explore the intriguing metropolis London has become. Edgware Road, with it's delicious Middle Eastern restaurants. Crawford Street has splendid Thai and Indian curry houses. Baker Street has many restaurants, from Pizza and Pasta to Mexican and Japanese.

Rustle up a quick breakfast or dinner in the kitchen, fully equipped with gas hob, microwave combination oven and a fridge freezer. Both Tesco and Marks Spencer are less than 5 minutes away and they are open late, so grocery shopping is quick and easy. Eating in can be fun too and helps balance the budget! Don't want to cook? Just order a takeaway for delivery within the hour.

There is an iMac for you to use or you can connect your own devices to the WiFi. Check the latest bargains or current exhibitions London has to offer or connect with the folks back home. Once you have ‘done’ the major sights, take time to explore the area and find your own London. Stroll down Marylebone High Street with its eclectic shops or visit the fascinating Wallace Collection on Manchester Square.

Check out some television on the 32' flat screen TV or watch a movie on the Blu-Ray player, which also has Netflix, YouTube and the BBC iPlayer. Or relax with one of the books I have provided.

If you have an iPhone or iPad I recommend the City Mapper app for getting around London and the Table Pouncer app for finding a table at a restaurant with a huge discount!

Constant hot running water is available for a long bath to relax or a refreshing shower: the choice is yours. Fluffy towels give you that luxurious feel. If you are staying a bit longer, feel free to use the efficient Hotpoint washer dryer. The 30 degree time saving wash gets things done in just over an hour. Clothes airer, Ironing board and Iron are provided as well as a hair-dryer.

This is an entire home that is fully serviced. If you would like additional cleans or changes of towelling and bed linen then these can be booked upon request. A welcome pack is provided with tea, coffee, chocolate, fresh milk, toiletries as well as dishwasher & washing machine tablets.

This was my first flat when I was working as an editor in the West End, I bought it because I didn't like the idea of commuting in every day and I'm so glad I did.

The area is lovely with easy access to the West End but with the tranquillity of Regents Park and so many great shops and restaurants.

The apartment is close to the bustling heart of London but in a quiet street with no traffic. Ideally located for travelling by underground from Baker Street, train from Marylebone and even by air from Heathrow which is only half an hour away on the Heathrow Express from Paddington.

What makes this apartment unique

Location, Location, Location! This flat is so centrally located but in a quiet street within easy walking distance of Regents Park, Baker Street, St Johns Wood and Edgware Road. Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus and London's Theatreland are just a few minutes away by bus or tube as are all of the tourist attractions like Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament and the London a Eye on the South Bank.

Neil's place was a wonderful hideaway for a couple with a few days in London. It is comfortable and well-appointed, and lots of snacks and amenities made us feel very welcome. It is very very close to Marylebone station and easy access to underground and train. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, but shopping and restaurants are very close. We would definitely stay here again. (Also major Sherlock Holmes decor, if the proximity to Baker Street is what draws you to this listing.)

Authentic English apartment

Authentic English apartment located in a very quiet street but very close to 2 major tube stations. The apartment was fitted out with everything - including detailed instructions on ""how to use"". We were greeted by a lovely man who showed us around the apartment which was very helpful. A small Tesco is located very close for you to buy some essentials for the apartment. On the negative, a bit small but very typical English. On the second floor so be prepared to stairs. Overall a fantastic apartment in a wonderful area.

Great location. Everything we needed.

We were so pleased with our decision to rent this flat. With two young boys, we probably loved the washing machine the most. But it was very comfortable for us. Very convenient to the Tube. And there's a Tesco between the flat and the Baker Street Station, so we could stop in for some quick groceries when we got back each night. A couple of nights, there was a good deal of noise out on the street, but we were too tired to care. We'd stay again.

A perfect place for a vacation in London

For a vacationing couple this is the ideal one bedroom apartment. It is set up for the international visitor. Even the decor is themed to welcome you to the British culture. The apartment has all the necessary amenities ...a completely outfitted kitchen, washer/dryer, power converters, maps, books, toiletries, hair dryer, iron, Internet, computer, etc. Everything a guest would need. Plus, it is located in a quiet neighborhood but less then a 5 minute walk to the Marylebone tube/train station and a bit further to the Baker tube. All of London is readily available. A Main Street of stores and pubs is only a few streets away. Next time we are in London this will be the first place we will try to reserve.

Wonderful Time in London/Marylebone Neighborhood

We had a wonderful experience at this flat. Everything was exactly as it had been described. Our family appreciated the convenience of the tube stations at Marylebone and Baker Street, as well as major bus lines. We were met at our appointed time and welcomed by some treats and staple groceries already on the shelves and in the refrigerator. The neighborhood is quite quiet and very convenient to all London's main sights. We would not hesitate to stay at this location again and were very appreciative of Neil's hospitality.

Well located cozy flat

NOT at all as advertised! this is what we sent to the owner after his request for a review

This is what we sent to the owner:

Thank you for advising that our deposit has been refunded. Thanks also for being prompt and friendly in all our dealings including meeting us at the flat.

We do have a considerable list of things that disappointed us at your property and I have outlined them for you as constructive comment:

* The bedroom is NOT AT ALL as shown in your online photos, there is no headboard, no foot-board and certainly no bedside tables, nor was there room for them and one could access the bed from only one side; additionally there were no far as we could see this room is a obvious misrepresentation and it certainly was a complete disappointment.

* The carpet is completely threadbare in many places and is tired and not clean daren't go barefoot.

* The toilet seat is broken and off one hinge.

* The livingroom furniture is exceptionally uncomfortable for any length of time and all we wanted to do was to watch the news!

*The kitchen was absolutely not clean other than is stuck to all surfaces. There was one small tea towel, no dish cloth and the bare minimum of everything else. The place mats were caked with dried food from previous tenants and there were no napkins.

* The building, while well situated, is not well maintained and other flat occupants pound up and down stairs at all hours and leave the front door to slam when exiting...this reverberates through the flat.

* A good 20 hours before we were due to leave, cleaning folks arrived with a request to leave their two giant sized bags of supplies in the flat till we left; since there already wasn't sufficient room to swing the proverbial cat, I declined their request!

We have been renting this type of accommodation for the last 15 years in all parts of the world and for the last 10 years in London on an annual we know something about what to expect for what price. Yours was not inexpensive but ranks as well towards the very bottom of our list and we could not possibly recommend it in its current state. And this is a shame as the neighbourhood is one that we will return to next year. As we see it, your investment is not being maintained and eventually that'll catch up with you ...especially as the photos misrepresent the flat and are not what one finds on arrival.

I will be sharing this info on the HomeAway site so others will not be "caught" as we were!

No one likes to hear negative feedback and obviously we are extremely unhappy that you did not enjoy your stay and had issues with so many things at the apartment. We would have liked to have heard from you at the time, then many of the issues you mention could have been addressed. I understand you were unwell following on from your cruise and had to spend most of your holiday time in the apartment which must have been a massive disappointment for you. Please be assured that I will be looking into every issue personally and will ensure that they are put right. The bedroom had been re-arranged to make space for a new bed and I had not yet updated the pictures on the listing.
