Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

We have just had the most amazing week aboard Shanti. She is a beautiful yacht; spacious, comfortable and immaculately maintained. From the first moment we met Malcolm we were made to feel welcome and his passion to ensure that we had the best holiday doing what we wanted to do, made for a truly brilliant sailing and holiday experience. His extensive sailing ability made us feel in very safe hands and his knowledge of the local coastline meant we visited some beautiful bays where we anchored and swam in crystal clear water.

Highlights were tacking along the Meganisi Straights and effortlessly making us work well as a team(!), diving off the front of the boat, sharing a meal in the evening at anchor, waking up in a deserted little bay and when we were becalmed, cutting the engine and swimming from the boat in the middle of the sea......we could go on!

Thank you so much Malcolm for a truly memorable holiday.

Super Shanti!

Best holiday ever - Bing Bang Bong!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our 11 year old son and his best friend have just had the most wonderful week onboard Shanti, sailing across the Ionian Islands. It is by far the best way of experiencing Greece when the weather is hot - feeling free, pushing out to the sea with the cooling winds and stopping for a swim and snorkel in pristine coves in various islands. Some nights we moored at the peer and ate in local restaurants (with wifi for the boys!) and others we anchored out in picturesque coves and cooked on the boat.

Shanti was by far the most beautiful boat in the harbour and manoeuvred superbly by our world class skipper, Malcolm. He is a perfect guide to the area and let us all get involved in making Shanti fly, a great adrenaline rush for us novices whilst knowing that Malcolm would keep us safe. The boys had a great time driving the boat, tacking and tying lots and lots of knots, and when they got bored of sailing they would build dens in their cabin. In the evenings they loved the swimming, fishing, snorkelling, paddle boarding and just generally messing about outdoors.

Shanti is super comfortable and spacious and everything is in perfect condition. We slept so well in our cabin, soothed by the creeks of the boom and water lapping against the boat. There was ample space below and on the deck for us all and we gelled well as a group, chatting and listening to music or just dreaming in the magical blueness of it all.

We would advise booking enough time, not even seven days feels sufficient. Be warned, once you are on Shanti you will never want to leave! Thank you so much Malcolm for looking after us, we will definitely be back! Bing bang bong!

Ionian Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from our Fabulous "Shanti" Holiday having had the happiest of holidays. My husband and I and our two teenagers loved the adventure, all made possible by Malcolm our amazing skipper. The boat was immaculate, comfortable, stylish, gave us a wonderful sailing experience and was by far the most beautiful boat in the harbour! We swam off the boat every morning, snorkelling and admiring the lovely sea life and unspoilt views of the stunning Ionian islands and then headed out into the wider sea for some thrilling sailing every afternoon. Malcolm was a great guide for the area - a font of knowledge on the best places to moor, eat, drink, shop, sail and generally have a great time. He was also a brilliant sailor and a really fun person and we all learnt a huge amount in the short week we were on board Shanti with his gentle guidance and encouragement with lots of laughs along the way. Thank you Malcolm for such a special holiday.

Our best family vacation, ever.

  • 5 of 5

We have spent the most amazing week on board S/Y Shanti with Malcolm. It was a first real sailing trip for my wife and son (8 y.o.) and they absolutely loved it.

Shanti is very spacious and comfortable fast cruiser with all the modern amenities - the stay was really comfortable in terms of having living space, large cockpit area, well-equipped galley, etc. However, the boat alone does not make the experience so special - Malcolm does.

Malcolm is a very professional host and skipper. He handles the boat with grace and always in a safe and considerate manner. As guests, we discussed our route and multiple options every evening and in the morning, Malcolm knows the area really well and can always suggest a harbour, restaurant or an anchorage. Small things, like ability to call a restaurant owner at noon and reserve marina space for dinner made the whole experience very relaxing.

The Ioninan itself is a perfect spot for such a vacation - lots of islands and harbours in close proximity of each other, with beautiful, clear water.

We will be back next year :)

Exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

Shanti was a great sailing boat loved and cared for by mal the owner/skipper. To which he extended that attention and care to ensuring we got what we wanted out of our week. He taught us a great deal about sailing and shared some amazing experiences- a true genuine man. Would recommend hiring shanti and mal for your sailing experience, whether you are novices (like us) or more experienced sailors and want to experience a beautiful sailing boat - surpasses any experience you will get with a mainstream sailing holiday company. We are hooked see you soon!

'Shanti, Shanti'

  • 5 of 5

We (parents and fourteen year old son) spent five days in the middle of August on Shanti, a beautiful 50 foot sailing yacht. We were looking for something more than a villa with a pool and were able to slot our time on board in the middle of our two week holiday to Kefalonia.

As complete novice sailors we did not know what to expect but it turned out to be a great first sailing experience for us, enhanced by our brilliant skipper, Malcolm. As well as learning some basic sailing skills we had a very relaxing time, saw some beautiful places and enjoyed many laughs along the way. From the moment we stepped onto Shanti Malcolm ensured that we felt at home with his relaxed yet fully professional approach. The cabin space on board is a good size with comfy beds and well equipped cooking facilities including a large fridge for nice cool drinks on board. We also had the opportunity to sample local dishes along the way at various tavernas which were all great value.

We came away feeling that our five days on board (Malcolm had advised booking for longer!) was a little too short and a full week would have been better to do everything we wanted to. Nevertheless we managed to visit three other islands during our time and found this a great way to explore the area. Highlights, particularly for our son, were diving from the bow of Shanti into the crystal clear waters, snorkeling (especially the sunken airplane!) and of course taking the helm of Shanti!

We would thoroughly recommend a trip on Shanti and hope to repeat the experience again ourselves.

Bravo Malcolm!

During your stay on the yacht there are many beautiful and interesting places to see and visit. We will cruise between Kefalonia, Ithaca, Meganisi, Lefkada, Skorpio and other islands in the area. Each island is full of its own history and natural beauty. As you sail between islands you will be constantly amazed by the incredible beauty of the Ionian that can only be fully appreciated from the sea. Anchor off in small bays and swim or snorkel in crystal clear turquoise water, explore some of the secluded beaches only accessible by boat. Look out for the wildlife en route dolphins and sea turtles are often spotted in these waters. We use 2 different bases to pickup and drop off, Sami on Kefalonia and Nidri on Lefkada.
