Escape to the seaside with our beautiful 2-bedroom apartment at Putsborough Sands in North Devon. This stunning property offers breath taking sea views of the glorious Woolacombe Bay and has all the amenities you need for a comfortable and memorable stay. (Please read our many five star reviews from guests who have visited over the last ten years). The extensive surf washed golden sands of Putsborough Beach, one of the finest Blue Flag beaches in Britain, are just 10 minutes walk away. The newly refurbished heated indoor swimming pool and toddler pool are situated just metres from the front door, in a separate locked building....nip over for a swim before breakfast!

This luxury apartment is very comfortable, clean and cleverly laid out, so that all its windows look out towards Putsborough Sands Beach and the 3 miles wide stretch of North Devon coastline known as Woolacombe Bay. We constantly upgrade to provide a wonderful self-catering holiday location for our own family and for our guest's enjoyment.

The generous living area has two comfortable sofas, a coffee table, Smart TV with Freeview and Netflix, an electric fire and patio doors to the balcony. The dining area is between the living room and the good sized kitchen. Both twin bedrooms, the sitting room and dining area all have windows which look out towards the sea. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and over-bath shower, toilet and hand basin. The second twin bedroom is opposite the shower room (power shower), which also has toilet and basin. There is a small laundry room where washing can be done and wet suits rinsed and hung up. There are also two communal tumble driers on site, just a short walk from the front door. Because we use the apartment ourselves we believe we have made it uniquely comfortable and everything is to hand. Our sixty or so 5* reviews reflect this. Between bookings our housekeeper keeps the property immaculately clean, so that once you arrive you can relax and enjoy your stay.

The apartment is perfect for beach and surfing holidays and as the only beach in the area to have some protection from South and South-Westerly winds, thanks to Baggy Point, it's very safe for children as well as for adults whilst swimming and surfing. As there is National Trust land all around you can walk along the Devon Coastal Path or many other local walks directly from the apartment. In the evenings you can watch the sun set over the ocean from your private balcony, accessed via the sliding patio doors in the living room. It's also a great setting for cosy winter breaks; some of our guests just enjoy reading a book by the window and glancing out now and then to watch the changing seascape.

Try Putsborough Beach shop and cafe for breakfast, lunch or a light snack. It overlooks the ocean waves from a beach terrace. Their hot chocolate and delicious fruit cake are certainly worth sampling. Beach equipment, wet suits, body boards and surfboards can be hired from the beach shop too. There is also now a cafe (The Port Hole) half-way along the top path towards Woolacombe. What could be better than a bracing walk to Woolacombe with a delicious cup of coffee half-way along the route. Their sausage rolls are the best we have tasted!

The apartment has a private parking space just outside, plus additional parking in the top car park for a second car (although these are on a first come first served basis). In the top carpark there is a cold shower for washing wet suits and sandy feet. There is also a bike storage area in the middle car par (bikes are not permitted within the apartment).
Free use of Wi-Fi Broadband....bring your IPhone, laptop or IPad. We include tea and coffee, biscuits and fresh milk, so put the kettle on as soon as you arrive and relax!

Short breaks are available during autumn through to early spring. We have many returning families and couples who book from year to year, because they love it so much. From £115 per night.....minimum 3 nights.

Wonderful location and apartment
The apartment was large, 2 bed 2 bath. Big enough for a family. The kitchen was very well serviced. The outstanding part of our holiday was the location. The views out of all the windows was wonderful. even in the rain, just watching the sea and surfers was very relaxing. The beach at the bottom of the hill was a big hit with the kids. They loved it. The indoor pool was just the icing on the cake. We are definitely coming back. We would recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely fab u lous
Wonderful views of Woolacombe bay from every window in the flat are matched by the interior. The owners have thought of everything you can possibly need. The place feels more like a home than a rental which makes your stay even more relaxing. It is also very well serviced by housekeeper Sue., it is clean as a whistle. We loved it.

A lovely apartment
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at your well-equipped apartment. Lovely view of sea and beach. We had some problems being able to get Netflix when we wanted, but other than that were grateful for smart tv. The housekeeper Sue was very herlpful as ever.

Fabulous sunny holiday on the beach!
We had a wonderful stay here. The flat was stocked with everything we could possibly need - children’s games, buckets & spades, binoculars, windbreak, baking paper, foil, sandwich bags, dishwasher tablets and great kitchen supplies. This was particularly useful as we ended up cooking all our meals - the beach cafe stopped serving food too early to have dinner there and the roads were so narrow we were put off from going out for dinner. Sainsburys delivery went very well. The swimming pool was much appreciated by our children and was kept very clean. Fresh yellow roses were a lovely touch - thank you!

The Osborne family spent many holidays at this property when it was the Putsborough Sands Hotel. We always enjoyed family holidays at this beautiful location and when we had the opportunity to purchase an apartment here (in 1989) we jumped at the chance.

Why they chose this property

During the conversion from hotel to the present day apartments we were able to choose a prime position, with all six windows directly overlooking the beach. 21 Clifton Court is situated at the top left corner of the apartment building (see photo taken from the beach), so that we have panoramic views of the whole of Woolacombe Bay. Being on the top floor also means the apartment is quiet and peaceful. It is still very much a family holiday apartment and although we let it out to holiday guests, we use it ourselves and constantly upgrade the equipment and furnishings. Recently we have replaced the heating system, carpets and curtains. There is no gas supply to Clifton Court, so no fear from carbon monoxide emissions. The apartment is tastefully decorated, comfortable and extremely well cared for. Our housekeeper keeps it immaculately clean....you will not be disappointed!

What makes this property unique

Comfortable, spacious accommodation in an exclusive and uniquely desirable coastal cliff-top setting. Swim in the heated indoor pool which is situated just a few yards from the front door, in a separate locked building. The pool is for residents of the apartments only, so it is generally fairly quiet. Main pool 10m x 4m and toddler pool 2.5 m sq. In summer enjoy the wonderful stretch of beach 5 minutes walk from the property. During winter the apartment is warm and cosy with thermostatically controlled heaters in every room and an electric fire to give a warm glow on chilly evenings. There are many walks which lead directly from the apartment and walking along the beach to Woolacombe is definitely a family favourite. If you are too tired to walk back you can always catch a taxi! We also enjoy sitting on the balcony and watching the surfers, even in winter they are out in the surf and it's fascinating to watch them catching the waves. The apartment is very accessible as our parking space is near the front door. There are just a couple of steps down and along a walkway and you enter the front door at ground level. As the building is set into the hillside you are then high up (3rd floor) when you look out of the apartment windows, and the views are fabulous. The interior takes advantage of the setting from every aspect, so the bedrooms, sitting room and dining area all have windows which look out towards the beach and panoramic sea views. We also have a laundry room where washing can be done and wet suits rinsed and hung up. Because we use the apartment ourselves we believe we have made it uniquely comfortable and everything is to hand. Our housekeeper keeps the property immaculately clean and welcoming, so you can relax and enjoy your holiday.
