About this property

Modern 1-BDM in beautiful mountain neighbourhood - License #83588

This space is located on the garden level of our family home, in a quiet mountain neighbourhood close to downtown.

It includes a bright, spacious bedroom, and a private bathroom, living room and kitchenette with a table that seats four. The bedroom has one queen bed (which can sleep two people), and a closet for storage. If you are visiting with young children, we can also provide a single air mattress or a camping cot, as well as a pack-n-play or crib. **This space is NOT conducive to four adults**

Guests have have access to their own private (not shared with the homeowners) washroom with shower and tub, washer and dryer.

Dining/Cooking: Our dining area features a table and four chairs (high chair and booster seat also available), fridge and freezer, sink, and countertop. Please note that in order to comply with City of Kelowna guidelines relating to the legal operation of short-term rentals in secondary suites, we do not have an operational oven/stove (the one you see in the photos is not wired). Should we not comply with these rules, we could face steep fines or lose our business license.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself in your booking request, as this is our family home, and we want to make sure the space is the right fit for all our guests. We do not accept third-party bookings.

As always, we enjoyed our stay in your comfortable suite. Really appreciated the book & puzzle collection. Peaceful neighborhood with scenic views of lake & mountains. Good base to explore local trails for walking & x-c ski areas (Nordic & Telemark). Highly recommended!

Hi, we're Kristen and Dylan Tomlin. Kristen - who hails from Toronto - is a journalist and bookworm who loves to travel. Dylan is from British Columbia, and is a sports buff and craft beer enthusiast who loves hiking and camping.

We, along with our little girls and dog Sitka moved to the Okanagan from Toronto in 2016, and are thrilled to call Kelowna home. As a family we love spending time outside, cooking (and baking), and planning our next getaway.

We built our home to include a suite so family had a comfortable and place to stay when visiting. When we aren't hosting family, we open our space to guests, and love the opportunity to meet new people and forge new friendships.

Why they chose this property

Our house is located on a quiet lane in Glenmore, in the northwest part of Kelowna. Our beautiful mountain neighbourhood is flanked by Okanagan Lake to the west, and a valley with vineyards to the east, and is surrounded by forest and hiking trails full of deer and other wildlife.

Within an 8-minute drive you'll find several shopping plazas with grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops and other amenities. We are a 10-15 minute drive (depending on traffic) from downtown Kelowna and the beach. It's about a 15-20 minute drive to the airport and to the closest wineries.

What makes this property unique

If you are looking for a private, cozy home away from home while you're in Kelowna, this is the spot for you. You'll enjoy your own clean, comfortable space, situated in a brand new, beautiful craftsman style home. Curl up in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a movie on Netflix, or enjoy a coffee on the deck, overlooking our grassy yard with the mountains beyond.
