Location, Location, Location
You can't beat the location. Out the front door and you're on the beach. Makes it simple to return to the house for a forgotten item, make lunch, grab a drink or use your own restroom. Beautiful wrap around porch provides the perfect setting for morning coffee, relaxing with a good book, hanging with family and a great view of the beach/ocean. Plenty of sleeping space with 6 bedrooms. Note: 2 BRs were bunk beds only so best for kids. Large open kitchen design and a separate large dining room are perfect for meals with family and friends. Beach chairs and towels are plentiful so don't bother to bring your own. There is no AC, but ceiling fans in 4 of the 6 BRs and a ocean breeze were enough to make for a comfortable night's sleep even on the 80 degree days. Five minute walk to local restaurant, coffee shop, ice cream shop and supermarket. The 3 off-street parking spots were a bonus. This is a 100+ year old home so expect period flooring, room layout and furnishings. Overall this is the quintessential beach house. We plan on returning next year.

Just what we needed
This house was exactly what we needed for our extended family gathering (ages 1 to 77). My dad had visited there as a child several summers over 60 years ago and he hadn’t been back since, so it was a special week to be there together. The house is over 100 years old and it’s solidly built with little noise transmittance (great for toddlers). There are plenty of bedrooms and the layout was perfect with most the bedrooms upstairs. We really enjoyed sitting on the first and second floor decks. We had one rainy day and watched the storm from the deck and stayed perfectly dry. We really never felt the need to go anywhere but the house and the beach! The beach access can’t be beat and was easy to go back and forth to make lunch etc. Naomi, our host, was extremely welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. We forgot a thing or two at the house and she was really helpful making sure it got back to us. We had an incredible week and will definitely be back!

Perfect vacation/reunion
The house was perfect. A traditional New England beach home--wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, across from the beach, outdoor shower, lots of beach toys and chairs. However, it has all the modern conveniences: dishwasher, washer and dryer. The ceiling fans in the bedroims and kitchen kept us comfortable at night. The owners were responsive and kind when we had questions. We had a wonderful vacation!

Location Location, but...
This house is just across from the beach in gorgeous Gloucester. It's an amazing location and the porches and views were incredible. The owner, Naomi, was lovely and communicative. Lots of towels and beach chairs there. That said, new and more complete photos of the house need to be posted on the website listing. The photos didn't convey the condition of the house, and they omitted altogether the old kitchen and very old bathrooms. Broken furniture should have been removed or replaced. This house really needs some renovation.

We raised our three grown up daughters at Good Harbor Beach. Now, our grandchildren come. It is an anchor for our family.

Why they chose this property

We have lived next door since 1981. Now, we live there full time, and feel as though we are on vacation every day. The beach is beautiful 365 days a year.

What makes this property unique

The beach views are unbelievable. Sip coffee on the porch and watch your children play in the creek or relax on the 2nd floor veranda and enjoy the incredible panoramic view. You can sit there for hours. We have traveled all over the world and have never found a beach like Good Harbor!
