Peaceful and relaxing stay in nature
Had a great time - place was beautiful as was the scenery. The lake was great and refreshing but very easy to swim in. The cabin was as described and very clean with a very nice feel. The hot tub was a nice touch to warm up in and watch the sunset. We really enjoyed the hike to the mailbox each day to get a great hike in (2 miles round trip and doing it twice a day got your heart pumping). It was very relaxing and a very family friendly house. Lots of laughter with games and card playing. Our kids 16/14) loved it! The swim in lake off the dock was outstanding and there were two kayaks to use. If I could offer up any changes - it would only be to update some of the kitchen utensils.
Paul’s Log Cabin
Our family gathered for a week at Paul's cabin for the first time in July. Paul's cabin is 30 mins away from the village further south on the lake where steep hillsides cut into the rocky shoreline providing breathtaking panoramic views. This does mean navigating a steep narrow road down to the cabin (best in an SUV) Inside the sturdy cabin, it was nice to have the bedrooms and bathrooms on 3 separate levels offering privacy. The great room/kitchen area which opened up to a huge deck was ideal for gatherings. A wooden walkway down to the water leads to a lakeside deck and dock and proved great for sunbathing and swimming. Paul has thought of everything and no detail overlooked. His house manager gave a great walkthrough when we arrived and was very responsive to a few simple questions that popped up during the week. We look forward to returning to Paul's cabins.
Relax, Unwind, and Enjoy Paul’s Cabin
We rented this cabin with friends. 4 adults and 5 children. Rooms fit comfortably for our number. Home and property were large with a beautiful view of Skaneateles lake. We took hikes to view two waterfalls via a short drive on the off weather days. Caught small mouth bass daily with Yamamoto bait off the dock. Got as large as 19 inches. Speakers throughout the property inside and out to help relax. The water temp was perfect for the hot days. Renting the pontoon is a must. Smooth 30 minute trip to Skaneateles for dinner and activities with free docking downtown. Rosalie’s Cucina was outstanding Italian. Short walk from the dock.
Thank you Paul and family for an outstanding experience. Most detailed property book I have ever had while renting a home. Helped immensely with information and activities. Thank you to Mike for property activities.
Great Secluded Cabin on the lake
Wonderful cabin on several levels. Enjoy the outside fire pit, Hot tub, amenities galore. We came for a family reunion and booked the lodge and cabin. They are just across frrom each other, yet separate if you like your privacy.
Experience nature's solitude thru miles of seasonal roads around gorges, streams and oak forests.
Boat, swim, fish, water ski or jet ski on Skaneateles spring fed glacier etched lake. Limestone floor means no mud or gunk -- one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Bicycle along East Lake road past farms, elegant estates and vineyards.
Take a 30 minute boat ride from our cabin to downtown Skaneateles, shop, buy some ice cream and eat it in the Village Gazebo. Life is good.
We love the outdoors, but we're really not the 'camping' types. We found this beautiful piece of property and decided to build an elegant cabin where we could enjoy nature graciously. Our image was to put a quality place in the midst of nature where privacy, beauty and serenity could be appreciated.
We like to call it ... Rustic Elegance.
