Unique: Pool And Sophisticated Living In The Historic Centre Of Florence AIRCO

Photos and Description of this Le Cure holiday apartment

Three suites for 5 pers+2 children with garden and pool and aircondition new sys

This charming and sophisticated apartment with garden, pool and a completely new air condition and heating system in the very historical centre of Florence is absolutely unique. It offers a personal home to everybody who is interested in visiting Florence. The owners live in there themselves and that is why it has still a familiar flair. It has been restored for the family and not for the purpose of renting it out, which makes the difference in the choice of materials, and quality. Both owners are architects and made it to their taste and the necessities of their family with two daughters.Three suites, each on two floors are composed of study on the ground floor and bed gallery because the original height of the ceilings allowed this architectural composition of great taste and chic, sophisticated lifestyle.

Four bath rooms each with a shower on the ground floor and one with a jacuzzi bath tub on the top level for the master bed room only.

The double living area is spacious and reflects the original building and history of the house offering even entertainment space with a Piano. In addition there is an extra TV room to enjoy films with the family and/or friends with the option of 'chaise longues' , armchairs with the possibility to put up your legs.

Each bedroom has an integrated study on the ground floor with a desk and a place to chill, while on the upper part are walk in closets and spacious bed rooms.

A perfect combination and successful playing with the heights. The very central location, the garden with enough outside space for a dinner party and the extraordinary existence of a pool in the heart of the historical centre of Florence makes this apartment so special and unique. It has been designed by a couple of two young architects who made the concept for their family with two children and a maid, with a perfect mix for all ages and combinations, with refined materials and colours. It is a very representative apartment of which one can be proud of living in it.

It´s special touch shows that the owners were always in touch with historical architecture, love art and design and made a harmonious mix in their apartment in Florence down town.

About Claudia Pirazzi

We are a family of three now and the children study abroad. We were both architects and I am very busy with my work. We love art, design and historical buildings, we love to travel and learning about culture and cultures.

Claudia Pirazzi purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Claudia Pirazzi chose Florence

This apartment with it´s crossed vaulted ceilings, it´s garden in the centre of Florence and it spacious height gave us immediately the impression of what we could do here and we did. We could not believe it that we managed to the the permit for the pool here!

What makes this apartment unique

The location which is an AAA location with a garden and a private pool, it´s space and size and the cut, which gives each member a suite and not only a bed room. A luxury apartment so close to all museums and churches allows you also in the hot summer to enjoy Florence as you can refresh yourself even between one visit and another in your own private pool.

Wonderful House and Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable with a fantastic court yard and patio area. Large spacious gathering rooms, with a nice kitchen and formal dining room. We had a group of 6 and really enjoyed this wonderful home. It is a short walk straight down the street to the Domo and center of Florence.

Claudia and her son we were very kind and helpful. They made sure everything in the house was working properly and fixed an problems immediately.

I would love to stay here again sometime!

Amazing experience !!!

  • 5 of 5

The whole experience was fantastic starting with Claudia collecting our luggage and some of our party and transferring us to the apartment via the pharamacy to help translate to get medication for one of our party who was ill. The property was amazing and had everything you could possibly want (even a piano for my husband), so much thought has been given to making this a home away from home. It is very close by foot to all the sites and restaurants. Supermarkets close buy as well. Claudia was so helpful in offering information about where to visit and recommending restaurants. Everything perfect for a family of five adults. Will definitely be back again! Buy some mozzie creams and sprays for walking around Florence though - they certainly liked us !

Gorgeous apartment, central location, private pool

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here the first week in July; we're a family of four with two teenagers (18 and 16). This apartment is brilliantly conceived to make the most of its space. It's a single-storey apartment but with very high ceilings, so the owners have cleverly installed mezzanine levels in the bedrooms - three of the four have a downstairs lounge or study space, plus a spacious upstairs sleeping level (accessed by quite steep iron or wooden stairs). The master bedroom includes a walk-through dressing room (plenty of storage!) and a lovely en-suite bathroom. The two other bedrooms we used also have great storage in the form of walk-in cupboards. There is a fairly small but well-equipped kitchen, a TV lounge, the large living room (with a piano, which my daughter was thrilled about!) with an adjacent dining space, a smaller fourth bedroom (which we didn't use), a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier, and three further downstairs shower-rooms. And, of course, the garden, which has a small lawn, a patio area with table and chairs, shaded by a plant-covered pergola, and the lovely pool.

If you're looking for the convenience of your own apartment in a central location in Florence, then you'd find it hard to beat this place. It gave us the best of both worlds - we could head out early to sightsee, then when the day got too hot, we'd return to the apartment for a welcome cooling-off in the pool, and lounge for a while in the garden, before heading out again to eat in the evening. The location means the whole of historic Florence is within easy walking distance; the Accademia (for David) is five minutes’ walk away, the Duomo 10mins, the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio 15mins. Helpful if you’re there peak season and want to be early for queuing!

There’s plenty of great places in handy distance to eat – we enjoyed the Trattoria Accademia on San Marco Piazza, and in particular we loved going to the Mercato Centrale for great, good-value food and a fun atmosphere. There’s also a couple of small, city supermarkets within 10 minutes’ walk; plus a larger “Esselunga” about 20 minutes’ walk to the north.

The delightful Claudia was extremely helpful; she picked us up from Santa Maria Novella station when we arrived, and, having shown us around the apartment, dropped us at the supermarket to stock up for the week. She gave us advice about what to see and where to go, and was always on hand by text or email if we needed her. Thank you Claudia!

A great find!

Charming, interesting, convenient and well managed

  • 5 of 5

The location of this apartment, so close to San Marco and the David and, well, everything you want to visit in Florence, is unbelievable. And the apartment itself is so interesting, from the art to the architecture. And there is a pool! the kitchen is well appointed and the terrace is lovely. The bedrooms are all on two levels up rather steep stairs (though there are foldable cots in the living room as well), but three of them are very large and comfortable. One is smaller, but quite functional. Claudia is the perfect manager. Wish we could have stayed longer...

Convenient location

  • 3 of 5

The location was very convenient and quite close to the center and yet quiet neighbourhood. I believe that new air conditioners and bed linen have been put in place since we were there which would be very helpful. The apartment itself is quite charming with a lovely patio garden overlooking the living room and kitchen.

Owner's Response: Dear Hema, thank you for taking the time to review the home. The issues for the lower rating have been eliminated as we have put in a completely new aircondition in the whole apartment, which is now more efficient (thus less expensive) and very silent. Also the house linen has been updated and increased, so we are sure that the next stay will get us back to 5 stars. We hope to have you back in the future. Warm regards to you and your family. Claudia

Exceptional house in Florence

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of five with children 9 and 11) absolutely loved this house. What a treat to have so much space and a swimming pool that is so well located to explore Florence. Claudia was great to deal with and gave us a lot of helpful tips.

The most popular and important sites in Florence include the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Bargello, and the Accademia, which are all within 10-15 minutes walk from the apartment. The churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable art galleries, and the library of San Lorenzo is a magnificent exhibition of Michelangelo's architectural genius. Wander some of the oldest streets in the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio, and experience the 'newest' area of Florence, the Oltrarno. Be sure to set aside time to see the vast and varied art collection housed in the Pitti Palace. When you grow weary of museums and monuments, head outdoors. Spend a day at the Boboli Gardens or climb the hill to the church of San Miniato al Monte to experience an enchanting view of Florence.

The historic centre of Florence attracts millions of tourists each year, and Euromonitor International ranked the city as the world's 72nd most visited in 2009, with 1,685,000 visitors. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. Due to Florence's artistic and architectural heritage, it has been ranked by Forbes as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and the city is noted for its history, culture, Renaissance art and architecture and monuments. Florence city also contains numerous museums and art galleries, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Pitti Palace, amongst others, and still exerts an influence in the fields of art, culture and politics.

Florence is known as the 'cradle of the Renaissance' (la culla del Rinascimento) for its monuments, churches and buildings. The best-known site of Florence is the domed cathedral of the city, Santa Maria del Fiore, known as The Duomo, whose dome was built by Filippo Brunelleschi. The nearby Campanile (partly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery buildings are also highlights. The dome, 600 years after its completion, is still the largest dome built in brick and mortar in the world. In 1982, the historic centre of Florence (Italian: centro storico di Firenze) was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. The centre of the city is contained in medieval walls that were built in the 14th century to defend the city. At the heart of the city, in Piazza della Signoria, is Bartolomeo Ammanati's Fountain of Neptune (1563–1565), which is a masterpiece of marble sculpture at the terminus of a still-functioning Roman aqueduct.
