About this property

Smokie Acre Blossoms - North Shore Oahu, Sunset Beach

This upstairs, 3-bedroom 2-bath home, with its spacious open floor plan, oversized rooms, vaulted high ceilings, and panoramic windows gives you sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and is backdropped by the rugged Ko'olauloa Mountains. Sit outside on the large deck and enjoy the breezes, views and playfulness of our free-roaming farm animals while having breakfast, lunch or cocktails!

Just steps away is Sunset Beach, a world renowned white sand beach, during summertime, when the waters are calmer, take relaxing strolls, sunbathe, treasure hunt for shells, snorkel in the crystal clear water, whalewatch and enjoy beautiful vibrant breathtaking sunsets while toasting the end of the day! In the winter, surf a wave or two or be one of the thousands of spectators or participants, from around the world, challenge themselves against waves reaching heights of 25 feet or more!!!

A 3-mile bike/walk path stretches from Pupukea to Velzyland for early morning runs and exercise. This shady, lush path connects a handful of famous beaches and conveniently located eateries (ever-popular Ted's Bakery, Panda's Thai Food & The Sunrise Shack) to name a few, hiking, and ocean activities and our local grocery store Foodland Pupukea.

Parking for two vehicles, private entryway, outdoor cooking/grilling area and convenient outdoor shower for rinsing off from your sandy adventures.

We always provide you with a well-kept home, but note, being in the country and near the ocean it is not uncommon to see geckos, ants, chickens & roosters, wild pigs, termites, cockroaches and other animals as a regular part of everyday life.

We are Kanaka Maoli, born & raised here, several generations... a local family dedicated to caring for and sharing this special place we call HOME!! With true meaning of Aloha 🌺 in culture and lifestyle.

Great place to stay
This property was in the perfect location for our adult family, right across the road from Sunset Beach. It was reasonably comfortable but a bit noisy as it is very close to the road. There are a few food trucks nearby which is handy. The owners live downstairs and are very helpful. The only thing this property needs is a couple of bikes to get around.

Lovey and Frank’s home was the perfect spot for our family holiday. It is absolutely in the perfect location, so close to Sunset Beach, food and supermarkets. The house has everything you could possibly need and Lovey and Frank are such fantastic hosts. We felt so at home in their home. Location, location, location!!!
Lovey was a wonderful host, along with her father, Frank, who had so many great stories to tell about the Island. The house was beautifully adorned and still had that home away from home feel. You could not beat the location as Sunset beach was right across the street. The other beaches were within walking distance, along with the giant Turtles. There were also many food trucks in the area. Plan on staying again if we ever come back through. Thank you Lovey & Frank!

About the host

Hosted by Lovey Foster

Host profile image
Husband, Frank and Late Wife, Raynel Foster built this home back in the 1970's. Aspiring to build a family business, Raynel and Frank set out to create the beautiful plumeria farm we now know as Smokie Acre Blossoms. Frank, a Heavy-Equipment Operator at the time, left the farm duties up to the flower-boss herself, Mrs. Raynel! This business flourished - delivering flowers to the hotels in Waikiki, making leis for years of graduations, weddings and family parties, picking blossoms for the yearly paddleboard race from Sunset Beach to Waimea Bay, and even providing yards upon yards of plumeria leis yearly for the Kamehameha Statue in Honolulu for Kamehameha Day.

As the years passed, endeavors for our family home shifted a little. Our grandparents/parents were getting to their much-deserved retirement years. In hopes to continue our grandparents/parents legacy, we continue to work our plumeria farm, now adding a variety of different flowers (crown flower, salmon plumeria, fruit trees) and creating this new vacation space, somewhere where we can share our family spirit and aloha.

Mrs. Raynel Foster has unfortunately passed in June 2017, but we hope to continue to carry on her legacy and keep her business going with the guidance of our grandfather/father, Frank.

We welcome you all to our home and hope you find peace and relaxation while visiting the North Shore of Oahu!

Why they chose this property

Smokie Acre Blossoms and our Ohana is built and maintained with Love and Aloha! Built and constructed with blood, sweat, and sacrifices, with the help and love of hands of family and friends. It's our HOME!!
Sharing it with those that enjoy the layed back, homey, country lifestyle that we were raised.

It's the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii, hands-down one of the best stretches of white sand beaches (nicknamed the "7-mile miracle"!!) with famous surf breaks just a short walk/bike ride away, including Pipeline, Backdoor, Rocky Point, Kammie's and Waimea Bay. Sunset Beach at the tip of your toes!!! A country vibe with roosters, chickens and wild pigs. The ocean and mountains grace both sides of our property, Mauka & Makai. It will rain for 5 min and clear, we sit on the northern point of the island. During winter and spring it rains alittle more. But it can be sunny almost everyday! The ocean conditions, change as the weather does, flat crystal clear to raging 20' surf!! All spectacular!
Our home, is warm, open, and comfortable . We furnish it with relaxation in mind, comfortable beds and furniture, decor and material that inspires the respect of Hawaii and its people. We offer personal favorites, of creation and collection. Sharing our love of the islands and all its wonders!
There is one road that wraps the entire island, Kamehameha Hwy, and our home sits along side it, all the houses do! There will be traffic, thats a given, and busy noise throughout the day, but when everyone in our community settles for the night, theres a soothing quietness and the sound of the oceans waves, that takes you to a memory of how the North Shore was once country. True country.

What makes this property unique

We are one of the last remaining family owned properties of old, times have changed, friends have passed, families have left, unfamiliar faces have bought and built...but we remain to continue our legacy our lifestyle ... for generations to come.
