About this property

Our home is approximately 1800 square feet of “Tahoe style” living space on the beautiful West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Tahoma, California. We have just finished a complete remodel of the interior of our home!! Our home features 4 bedrooms with full beds for 10 persons, ( 2 of the 10 must be 5 years old or under by county ordinance enforcement ) 2 full bathrooms, full laundry facilities, a nicely equipped kitchen, and a wonderfully warm family room and dining area! Majestic Sugar pines surround the home and wildlife abounds! Perfectly located for both Winter and Summer fun, you are just a 5 minute walk to our private homeowners beach on the lake, and just a short 10 minute drive to the Homewood Mountain Resort Ski Area. World Class Olympic Ski venue Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are just 30 minutes away! It's only 45 minutes to Northstar and a short 40 minute scenic drive along the lakeshore will take you to either the famous North or South shore Casinos! Boating, fishing, skiing and boarding, hiking in the desolation wilderness or Emerald Bay are just a small sample of the many activities within a "stones throw" of our home. As our friends and neighbors have been saying for over a hundred years "The West Shore...... is The Best Shore!” We hope you’ll stay with us soon!

Christmas time with family and friends

We recently stayed at a VRBO property with my family and close friends, including 5 adults, 2 small children, and 2 infants. The communication with the hosts was outstanding; they were exceptionally responsive and helpful. The house itself was warm and spacious, offering ample beds and blankets for our group. However, there were a few aspects that could be improved. While it wasn't a surprise (as it wasn't listed in the amenities), the lack of a dishwasher is something future renters might want to note. Additionally, we found no shower gel in either of the bathrooms. We also faced some technical issues with the TV in the living room, which consistently failed to connect to Wi-Fi. Considering the price point, I had expected the house to be a bit better maintained. Overall, though, we enjoyed our time and appreciated the host's excellent communication.

Love the Location!

Walking distance from food, coffee, market, and small beach! Very close to other beaches as well and restaurants. I love all the bed options to choose from with kids. Nice neighborhood with friendly neighbors.

This Home was purchased by our Aunt and Uncle, Bill and Maureen Moore in 1979 and the entire extended family has enjoyed many years here having fun and “making memories!” in The Shamrock Chalet! Last year Bill and Maureen asked Susie and I to spearhead a “complete remodel” on the home and we spent 16 months on a top to bottom interior refurbishment. Almost every thing is new! Now that they are enjoying their retirement years in the Bay Area they would like us to share their special “home away from home” with our fellow Lake Tahoe enthusiasts! Enjoy!

Simply put, “The West Shore is the Best Shore!” You’ll hear this phrase again and again. We love the West Shore for its peaceful, laid back atmosphere and all that it provides without the hustle and bustle of the casino district. Yet that is also available just a short 40 minute drive in either direction from the home!

What makes this property unique

We are fortunate to be able to share our H.O.A.’s private beach, pier, and Open space with our valued guests! Just a short 10 minute walk through giant sugar pines down to the lake and you’re there!
