This five star resort has ski-in and ski-out access with short walks to Peak 8 and 9 chairlifts for the downhill skiers and snowboarders. For those skiers who did not bring their own equipment and need to rent equipment or need their equipment adjusted, the lodge has its own ski shop. The lodge also has its own restaurant and bar/lounge, fitness center and game room to keep both the adults and kids happy. To complete the package, the lodge has indoor heated parking (two parking spaces which are accessible without having to go outside), a general store, four movie theaters for your families' private use (with hundreds of movie choices) and a business service center. Free wireless internet service is provided throughout the lodge.

Grand Timber Lodge has an excellent location - it is a short walk from the center of Breckenridge or, if you prefer, use Grand Timber Lodge’s very own shuttle to get back and forth from town.

The lodge has a great concierge center to assist every guest to plan and schedule their activities which are unlimited in the Breck area. Go bobsledding or dog sledding up to the Continental Divide, or spend an evening going to a replica gold mining camp and enjoy the sleigh ride to the camp under the brightest stars you have ever seen. At the camp, you will enjoy the striking surroundings as well as be provided with a great meal and entertainment. Ice skating, tubing, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing are all just a short distance away. The fun opportunities go on and on!

This unit has two bedrooms and two full baths and will sleep eight. The living room features a gas fireplace, an outside deck/balcony, a queen size sleeper sofa bed and an adjacent dining area and full kitchen (see pictures). The dining area has a dining table with six chairs and the kitchen has an elevated breakfast counter with four chairs. The master bedroom has a king size bed and it’s own private door to the outside deck. The master bedroom bathroom is spacious with a shower, Jacuzzi tub and private vanity area. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and it’s own sofa (a queen sleeper sofa bed) and kitchenette (with a dishwasher, cooktop, mini-refrigerator, toaster and microwave ) and can be completely locked off from the rest of the unit if desired for privacy. Each bedroom and the living room have their own TV and DVD player. The unit also includes a clothes washer and dryer closet for your use if needed. The unit communicates with the rest of the lodge through very secure egress doors into a heated enclosed hallway which leads directly to the elevator.

Another positive is the town of Breckenridge! The many fantastic restaurants, shops, displays and open park spaces located on and about the Blue River (really just a large stream that miners panned for gold back in the 1859 Gold Rush) will be decorated for Christmas only as Breckenridge can do! Just strolling through this charming town is a day/evening well spent. Also, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Copper and A-Basin are just a short drive away - purchase a combo pass and you can ski multiple resorts with the same lift ticket. With five peaks to choose from, however, most skiers feel little need to leave Breckenridge to challenge their skiing skills.

A final positive - this is New Years Eve in Breckenridge. There is no better place to be at such a special time!

Make this winter holiday the best holiday ever - the only thing missing is you! Come visit us!

Great property, great location
We had a fantastic week at Grand Timber. The unit felt more comfortable than the pictures looked which is a nice surprise! They had humidifiers which help with the very dry conditions. Amazing pools and amenities at the property! The only issue we had is that the unit was so hot. We had the heat turned off but windows open in January to make it bearable. Pack light PJ's!

Perfect!
This property is amazing. William is the best host and very responsive. Such a kind person. I do not think there is a better set up for accommodations. Ski in ski out / pools/ spas/ restaurant/ even a private movie theater!!! The bus was beyond convenient. Coming from Vail I was nervous but this far exceeded my expectations!

What makes this property unique

For history buffs, Breckenridge has a rich history going back to the 1859 and the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. In its previous life, Breckenridge was one of Colorado's greatest gold-mining towns - it produced over one million troy ounces of golf when prospectors panned their way across the Continental Divide and struck gold in the small creek, now called the Blue River. Although the last mine closed decades ago, its rich mining history is still celebrated today through a downtown museum, three outdoor mining museums and several gold panning sites. The museum has a special exhibit describing the unique and hard life women had to endure if they followed their gold mining husbands to live in Breckenridge back during the gold mining years.- a truly interesting and remarkable story. Obviously, your option to pan for gold will have to wait for warmer weather.

Also interesting, are the many fascinating stories going back to the old west . The legendary Doc Holliday, the close friend of Wyatt Earp best known for his role in the events leading up to to the gunfight at the O.K. Corral, escaped to Colorado to avoid extradition from Arizona. Wyatt Earp's had arranged for the Colorado governor (a good friend of Earp's) to deny the extradition which permitted Holliday to stay in Colorado and spend the last few years of his life there until he died of tuberculosis at the Hotel Glenwood at age 36. Holliday's' last gunfight was in a saloon in the neighboring town of Leadville - he allegedly shot the man in self defense in the arm, but his adversary survived due to quick medical care.
