With views from the 3rd floor of the house through Sydney Heads, the home sits above beautiful Fairlight beach and the Manly Scenic Walkway. It is also situated just 5 minutes stroll along the waterfront from the Ferry Terminal and another 2 minutes on to the restaurants, bars and shops of Manly and famous Manly Ocean Beach so you will not need to get in your car during your stay and your walking will be spectacular!
The home is spread across 3 levels. The base level hosts a remote controlled garage with roller door and parking for extra cars at the front of the garage. . Internal and external access leads to the middle level of the home. On this level is found the open plan large newly renovated luxury kitchen which flows to a sitting room, formal dining room, sun area with views across the harbour and front verandah with barbecue and outdoor setting. Along the hall can be found the main bathroom, three double bed bedrooms (one with a single bed in it) each with built in robes, and a dedicated study. There are 2 portacots and 2 fold out single beds available in the house for additional guests. At the rear of this level is found the laundry, a W.C. and the family room with sliding door access to the elegant salt water pool, outdoor setting with umbrella and the courtyard with table tennis table and an outdoor heated shower.
An internal staircase from the main level of the house leads to the top floor with the master bedroom with walk in robe and en suite, and a wrap around balcony with beautiful views across the harbour which can also be accessed from the other room on this level - the large parents retreat room with a queen sized sofa bed and a single sofa bed . On the upstairs balcony there is an outdoor setting so you can wile away the time watching the Manly vista before you.
The house can accommodate 11 people at a comfortable 'pinch' but is best suited to 7 - 9 people in 5 bedrooms (including the parent retreat).
There is WIFI throughout the house, and a wireless music system with speakers that can be relocated within the house. There is also an 'old fashioned ' record and DVD player. A DVD /TV is located upstairs (for the kids to retreat to!) . There is a further TV mounted on the wall in the rear lounge room with DVD connected. There is airconditioning on the top level of the house, ceiling fans or floor fans in all other bedrooms and underfloor heating across the front of the house in winter.
This is our home in Australia and not a conventional holiday rental so it has been thoroughly furnished and decorated with comfortable and high quality fittings.
The owners currently live overseas but this is their family home and as such they are only seeking families or extended families to rent the property or those who will respect our relationship with our neighbours (and thus not host parties in what isa very urban location). The property is not available for weekend lets.

We chose to buy this property because we wanted to live by the sea and commute to the centre of Sydney to work by ferry. Manly is the only beach location from which this is possible. We also love the casual atmosphere of Manly, the natural environment and the proximity of the National Park and the fabulous snorkelling. We have not been disappointed. We were a family of 5 till we moved overseas and the ease of access to everything in our daily life from this house meant we only needed one car and it was only used a few times a week. My husband would kayak out through the Sydney Heads before work most mornings with a group of fellow paddlers and I would do a 7am ocean swim from Manly Beach to the Marine Reserve of Cabbage Tree Bay with a swimming group. We need to be reminded quite often about why we have moved to London and are not in Manly!
This house is built and renovated for a large family. We fell in love with the clean airy feel of the house and the light….and that was before we saw the views from the top floor and the gorgeous pool. In this home at any time you can have one group sitting on the front verandah having a BBQ , another group kids playing in the pool, others watching TV in the family room and yet more having a formal meal in the dining room and you would not get in each other's way. This is rare in central Manly. As with most historic locations, the closer you get to the centre, the smaller the dwellings become but ours is spacious, gracious and beautifully renovated. And we can still walk everywhere!
10 of us (9 adults and 1 child) stayed at the property for our wedding in Manly. We had such a great week together in the property.
The rooms were all of a good size, the kitchen and shared living areas were really big and sociable. The upstairs bedrooms and ensuite are a good retreat, with the added bonus of a private balcony area.
We also enjoyed sitting out the front having a BBQ and splashing around in the pool in the back garden with all our friends.
The property is in a great location, only a short walk from Manly, Manly corso and of course the beach. We also did part of the Manly - Spit bridge walk, which was lovely.
My family (2 adults and 3 children) and my Dad stayed here for a week in July. We hosted gatherings for my mum's family one day (16 people) and then my dad's family on his 70th birthday (26 people) and the house was ideal. There were very spacious and comfortable sitting rooms in the front of the house with views of the water, and there is also a big room at the rear of the house where the kids watched movies, played table-tennis, and mucked around out of earshot of the adults. The front also has a deck with tables and chairs where we would have enjoyed many meals if not for Sydney's unusually cold weather.
The upstairs bedrooms were roomy and had even better views.
The kitchen is well stocked for everyday use as well as for our dinner parties - with lots of plates, utensils, serving items.
The house is charming and has had many updates.
The house is a 10 min walk to the corso and ferry which is just great to get to just about anywhere. A 20-30 minute stroll to the famous ocean/surf beach. A short car ride away are great spots like Shelley Beach and many others.
The property owner was very much in touch and checked on us via email and text during our stay. At one point the room heater upstairs was malfunctioning, and in under 24 hours a technician came to check it over, and when an immediate fix was not available there were new space heaters ready for us that same night.
No hesitation in recommending this property as well as the attentive owner to any VRBO user.
Our extended family of grandparents, offspring and grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Manly Magic just after Easter.
The first impressions were of light, space (big rooms and high ceilings) and room for separate activities. It was beautifully furnished and decorated and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-appointed and the pantry well-supplied - quite a plus in a rental situation. The bright, clean sparkly pool was enjoyed by the young ones and the ferry, the shops, the diverse eateries, the surf, the harbour beach were all within comfortable walking distance.
The owner and manager were most helpful in accommodating our needs.
Manly Magic exceeded our expectations.
Everything was just as needed. Spacious clean modern comfortable and perfectly located. Just far enough from everything to have a stroll both ways but not so far you can't wear pretty shoes. Highly recommend and we will be back.
This house is perfect - has lots of room, and everything supplied that you could need. It is in excellent condition, and just asks to be looked after!
We chose it to provide accommodation for ourselves and our guests for our daughter's wedding in Manly. We were able to host a party for both families, as there is ample china, glass etc for entertaining, and the balcony with the BBQ was the ideal venue.
The help we received from both the owner and the caretaker was much appreciated.
There was baby equipment for our granddaughter, who loved the pool, as did the grown ups!
A popular holiday resort location, Manly Beach has an authentic assortment of attractions for both tourists and non-tourists. Situated on a narrow isthmus between the Pacific Ocean and Sydney, Manly Beach is one of Sydney’s finest beaches. With Sydney’s excellent climate and surrounded by evergreen trees, Many Beach is a wonderful seaside destination. Manly is connected with the centre of Sydney by road and also by excellent ferry services. Fast ferries operate in the morning and the evening and take 15 minutes while the iconic Manly ferry leaves regularly from early morning through to past midnight and takes 30 minutes. Both services go past the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House as they ply their way to and from Manly. Manly feels like a fun, somewhat bohemian and relaxed village. It has too many restaurants and bars to list, a fabulous national park to explore (Sydney Harbour National Park) and a fabulous foreshore walk which extends all the way to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Manly provides a great base from which to explore greater Sydney while enjoying the city's best beaches - both Harbour (and therefore flat water) and surf beaches. Our home is 30 metres from one of these and 500 metres from the other! While Manly attracts many tourists, it is a functioning village within Sydney and has succeeded in not becoming overwhelmed by tourists. Residents welcome the influx of visitors throughout the year and continue about their lives, conscious of how lucky they are to call this wonderful place home! Manly provides great places to hike, to swim and also to snorkel and dive. The snorkelling on the beach in front of our house is fabulous with varied sea life and lots of fish. In winter the whales come into the Harbour and cavort around the bay area. You can hire sea kayaks or bicycles from locations in the village to explore the area. Hard as it is to imagine, there is more to see in Sydney and there are places to rent a car in Manly to take you to the wineries of the Hunter Valley the Blue Mountains or around Sydney itself.
