The whole suite is yours! The Ocean View Suite includes a fully equipped kitchen, living room with 32" TV, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and balcony, laundry, wifi and much more!

The TV has Netflix, Tune In Radio and YouTube.

The Master Bedroom has a King bed and the Junior Bedroom has a Queen Bed.

There are stairs to the unit, so unfortunately, we are not handi-accessible. Any guests with mobility issues should be very aware of this factor. The suite is self-catered.


The Space

Tapion House is a premier guest house in the upscale Tapion district of Castries, St Lucia. Our fully furnished suites are air conditioned, boast a full kitchen, spacious living room, comfortable bedrooms, relaxing balcony, dinette and in suite laundry. We are centrally located and are close to Rodney Bay, Castries, Marigot and a host of activities.

In the Kitchen, we provide an initial supply of condiments such as salt, pepper, various spices, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc. Additionally, we provide $100.00 XCD (about $40.00 USD) in complimentary groceries. This provides basics like bread, eggs, yogurt, rice, tea, coffee, fruit and so forth, subject to availability. We cannot accommodate special requests nor substitutions of groceries, these are simply courtesy staples we provide. Tapion House is serviced by municipal water, which is potable.

In the Living Room a dedicated router provides complimentary wifi. The 32" smart TV has Netflix, YouTube and Tune In Radio. The units are wired with UK 240V power, but we do provide outlet adapters. Please be aware, these are adapters only and do not transform power to EU 220V or North American 110V. The room is serviced by a 24,000 BTU air conditioner and easily cools all the common areas of the suite.

The Master Bedroom has a King-sized bed and an en suite bathroom. The large closet has plenty of clothes hangers, an ironing board and iron, as well as a blow dryer. The room is serviced by an 18,000 BTU air conditioner.

The Junior Bedroom has a Queen-sized bed and the likewise large closet has plenty of storage space and clothes hangers. The room is serviced by a 12,000 BTU air conditioner.

The Ocean View Suite has two bathrooms, one of which is an en suite for the Master Bedroom. Each bathroom consists of a shower, toilet and sink. Bar soap and shampoo are provided for your convenience. Hot water is generated via solar power, so we urge caution as water can be EXTREMELY hot. A generous supply of towels are in place.

We provide a charcoal grill on the balcony, along with an initial supply of coals. A twin-tub washer is likewise located on the far end of the balcony. A drying rack and clotheslines are available and in case of inclement weather, we do have an electric clothes dryer available in our private suite.

Guest Access

The entire 2 bedroom suite is yours.

Parking is available for a vehicle at the top of the stairs. Please advise us if you have a vehicle so we can ensure that nothing stops you from driving right in.

The suite is fully contained with more than ample towels, pots and pans and dishes for your use during your stay. You also have your own washing machine that no one else will use.

This suite is accessible by a set of stairs down to your balcony where the front doors are located. Unfortunately, this precludes us from being handi-accessible and potential guests with mobility issues should be very aware of this situation.

The suite is self-catered, meaning that during the length of your stay all cleaning, cooking, dish-washing and laundry are the responsibility of the guests. We can provide contact information for service providers, however all arrangements and payment must be made by the guest directly with the service provider.

Typical grocery items we provide include eggs, bread, yogurt, cheese, oatmeal, grits, bagels, coffee, tea, UHT milk, cereal, baked beans, etc. All items are subject to availability. As the suite is self-catered, all cooking is left to our guests. A variety of dry goods (coffee, tea, spices, condiments) are provided to get you started. We are on municipal water, which is potable.

If you need anything we are here for you, so feel free to ask any and all questions before your arrival or while you are with us! We enjoy socializing with our guests, but we recognize this is YOUR vacation. We are simply here to facilitate your having a wonderful time. So, feel free to stop by and chat or share a drink with feel equally comfortable in not doing so. You've worked hard for your vacation time, so spend that precious time in the way that suits yourself and your family best!

Our friendly dogs live upstairs with us and will not ever be permitted near you, without your explicit permission.


Other Things To Note

We can provide the contact information for a cleaning service, if guests would like. Cleaning services are not included in your stay and all fees and rates would have to be made directly with the cleaning service.

We do not charge for VAT, wifi, parking nor utilities.


Overview

Tapion is located just a few minutes drive from Castries city and has a small local beach within the neighbourhood. There are a few pubs (Hardest Hard & bistro within the Hospital) and restaurants (lollos) within the area. Grocery stores can be accessed via the shuttle or a drive down to Cul de Sac (5 minutes).


Getting Around

Tapion Hospital (3 minute walk) offers a shuttle (9 minute drive) that takes you downtown Castries for under EC $2.00 one-way. Grocery stores, banks, duty free, Castries Harbour, Castries Central Market, Port Saraphine are all within a few blocks of the drop off point as well as any other business you can think of. Book an excursion/tour departing from Port Saraphine, and meet the tour using the shuttle, a short walk, and the ferry across the Harbour.

on and doris should be super hosts. don is very knowledgeable and very helpful on everything about st. lucia they really care about your welfare and go out of their way to be helpful,don took us on many trips to get groceries, beer,to the beach etc. they both have a great love for animals,as doris rescues dogs and finds new homes for them (brunoproject) really great people,tapion house is the best supplied home that we have stayed in and if you need anythinf don will get it for you..all the best les,and cathy

Wonderful place to stay. Five minutes to the bus, close to town and very well equipped.

Paradise in Castries
Doris and Don are great hosts. Ever helpful, informative and congenial. Their love for dogs is overwhelming as they harbour a few of their own and foster others until permanent homes can be found. The unit we rented was ideal; out of the hub of Castries by 1.7 km and therefore needing a vehicle to get groceries home. Fortunately the local bus, for Pennies will give you a one way ticket to downtown. My only complaint was the advertised “Ocean View”. At one time it was, but no longer

We are Canadian Expats residing in St Lucia. We are both military veterans of 20+ years and retired Real Estate Agents from Alberta. We have 3 dogs, Dude, Axel, and Moma. They live in the upstairs suite with us and there is zero need for you to ever encounter them as the stairs to the unit is a fair distance from the furthest point they can reach. We love to host travellers and tell them all about this beautiful island and all its sights and sounds.

Why they chose this property

Our property is in a great location. No real need for a car as there's a shuttle that operates from Tapion Hospital (250 m away) to down town Castries where you can grab any other transportation required and/or hop onto an excursion/tour. We also have a small beach (Tapion Beach) within 200 m from the house or you can visit La Toc Beach (Sandals) which is about a 25 minute walk or a short ride away. If you choose to rent a car, our location gives you great access to all the natural attractions about 30-45 minutes south of us or the touristy areas and street parties about 20 minutes north.

What makes this property unique

For anyone staying 6 nights or more, we will stock your fridge with $100 XCD worth of food to start you off. There is a chance that you will arrive after the stores close, so this will help a lot. Also, we have partnered with a local chef and cleaner that you can call (with 24 hours notice) you can order services directly through them.
