About this property

August Ringling Room - Stay in a piece of Sarasota history - Downtown & Beaches

Stay in a piece of Sarasota history! This upstairs guest room, a 1 BR, 1 private bath is located in one of three historically significant buildings near Downtown Sarasota and the beaches. 5 minutes to Downtown, 5 minute drive to Lido Key Beach, close to Siesta Key! We have on-site restaurant, coffee and tea shop, craft beer & wine bar, a small independent bookstore, live music Friday & Saturday evenings. Free self-serve coffee every day in Coffee Shop beginning at 8a.

Word has it that these very special three Reserve buildings were part of Charles Ringling’s estate before his mansion was built. Charles was John Ringling’s brother and a key founding partner in Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. Once they made their fortunes, Charles built his mansion, and the buildings were then moved to their current location at 1322 N. Tamiami Trail, near Downtown Sarasota and the Van Wezel. Once on the Trail, the buildings were used as a boarding house, a circus performance venue, and much more!

Conveniently located near Downtown Sarasota, the beaches, St. Armand's Circle, many performing arts venues, restaurants, and more! A great Sarasota escape close to the arts and nature and much more.

Very close to all the arts (Van Wezel, Asolo, Florida Studio Theater, Sarasota Opera, Sarasota Ballet, Ringling Museum, Ca'D'Zan (John Ringling house), and much more.

Washer and dryer on-site, too. Beach chairs and beach towels can be checked out for your convenience. Too many great points to list here!

Pretty good. First time booking withVRBO. Staff was very helpful. Food was great. Didn’t like the steps. We are too old. Wasn’t able to contact owners on the phone. But it all turned out fine.

Hidden gem!
This historic resort has it all. Beautiful clean room with a B&B feel. Although the building is historic the bathroom was completely updated. The courtyard is the perfect outdoor setting between buildings for outdoor dining and listening to live music. The food is amazing, and the fish tacos are the best in town. The restaurant was busier than I expected the Host/Coffee Shop/Waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Great Weekend Getaway!
Enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Reserve Retreat. Great service, location (just over a mile north of Downtown Sarasota), accommodations, food as well as a few adult beverages accompanied by acoustic performances. Highly recommend!
