About Béa

With my husband's help I have tried to create a place to rest, surrounded by nature and peaceful, near the beautiful historic town of Bayeux, rich in Norman history and memories of the heroes of D-Day.

We have been committed to environmental protection for over 20 years: the construction has an ecological design, food is organic and there is no Wi-Fi pollution (only cable connections and optional wifi amplificator).

Bed mattresses are new and firm for great back support and to provide a good night sleep.

We want you to feel at home.

Béa purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Béa chose Arganchy

This is my grandmother's ‏(father's side) native region, and I have always heard about her cousins in Bayeux but I only met them once.

What makes this apartment unique

The entire manor was renovated in 2013-2014 for this first year of tenancy.

We enjoy the peace and the fresh air of the Norman countryside from the south-facing terraces.

Beaumanoir is the last property in the hamlet, located right after Sainte-Radegonde Church, in a small hamlet of 25 families.

An elegant property with wonderful hosts

  • 5 of 5

Others have expressed it just as well as I could: this is a marvelous apartment in a renovated 18th Century manor a few miles outside of Bayeux. The grounds are lush and meticulously landscaped, the surrounding countryside beautiful to see through the tall rear windows while sitting in comfortable leather easy chairs and gazing at the cows munching in the pasture behind the manor. When we visited this May everything was in bloom, enhancing the lovely view. Most notable is the quietude of the countryside. The apartment itself is meticulously refurbished with elegant architectural accents to make your stay that much more delightful. I know this sounds like ad copy, but in this instance the superlatives are more than justified. Claude and Pascal are lovely people, endlessly accommodating, and humorously patient with my tortured attempts to pronounce French place names to identify local destinations. As others have pointed out, they go out of their way to assist you in finding and reserving local restaurants, and seeking out the regional jewels to visit in Normandy. Claude has a puckish sense of humor that only adds to the charm of the place. I can't say enough good things about Beaumanoir.

Eine tolle Woche

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic stay in a beautifully renovated French Manor! Perfect location to visit D Day sights!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the fortunate opportunity to stay in Primela at Beaumanoir during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of D Day. Beaumanoir was recently renovated in keeping with the original French architecture, but with every modern update and comfort that one could hope for. The result is an absolutely gorgeous manor, surrounded by a beautiful open field and charming landscaping. The views from every French window in our place were absolutely captivating. The bathroom felt like that of a 5 star spa, the king bed was quite comfortable and adorned with high quality linens, the kitchen was fully furnished with new appliances, and the oversized leather chairs in the living area were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outside scenery. Our apartment was always well maintained with clean towels and fresh linens. We even had high speed internet in our apartment!

From the moment we arrived at Beaumanoir, the owners, Claude and Pascale, who speak excellent English, made us feel right at home. They made fantastic restaurant recommendations, and also called restaurants to make reservations for us. On our first day at Beaumanoir, Claude was kind enough to escort us to a restaurant in Bayeux, to ensure that we did not get lost along the way. He even brought us to the town's city hall, so that we could obtain exclusive D Day parking passes! Pascale brought tea, coffee, and candies to our place, and we were even invited to eat delicious meals with Claude and Pascale on multiple occasions! During our entire stay, we felt as though Beaumanoir was our home, and that we were part of Claude and Pascale's family.

Beaumanoir is located in a tiny town on the southern edge of Bayeux, and is the perfect geographic location in which to start and end your day of visiting the D Day landing beaches, the quaint and preserved historic towns of Normandy, and the many D Day museums, as these fantastic locations are all just a few minutes drive to the north, the east, and the west. My husband is in the military, and is also a huge WWII aficionado, so access to these sites was of the utmost importance to us, and Beaumanoir did not disappoint. After each full day of sightseeing, it was such a treat to come home to the beautiful and hospitable Beaumanoir! Our experiences with Claude, Pascale, and Beaumanoir were the perfect combination to complete our experience in Normandy, which we realize was the "trip of a lifetime," for us!

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5
