About this property

Welcome to the perfect mountain vacation getaway for two. We are located in the upscale gated community of The Divide at Bald Rock where serenity will surround you with breathtaking long-range mountain views. The residence is nestled at the edge of the woods sitting near the top of the mountain at 4200 ft elevation. Secluded, yet you are just minutes away from Cashiers, NC and a short scenic drive to Highlands, NC where shopping and dining experiences are plentiful.

The 800 SF guest house is above the main residence's detached garage and has a private/separate entry. *Please note that we are only renting this space when we are not on-site; therefore, ensuring privacy during your stay.

With open-beams, wood ceilings and floors, the space exudes mountain comfort and warmth. The residence was designed by my father, a retired architect, who always dreamed of having a mountain home. After two years of design preparation, the home was completed in 2015 and the quality guest house furnishings were finished in 2018.

KITCHENETTE has granite counters, stainless steel GE refrigerator, dishwasher, cook top and microwave. Everything you will need to make light meals and/or snacks. A corner bistro table provides the perfect dining spot with spectacular views of Chimney Top mountain and more.

LIVING ROOM offers plenty of comfortable space to curl-up and read, watch TV or simply take in the view through the windows that expand the length of the room.

BATHROOM has a walk-in tile shower with seat and two vanity areas complete with copper sinks.

BEDROOM: Enjoy sleeping in the luxurious King size bed with pillow top mattress. Upscale furnishings offer plenty of space for your belongings.

MAIN DECK access is yours to enjoy, dining al fresco under the gazebo or having a cocktail while taking in the gorgeous mountain-view sunsets.

Beautiful doesn't begin to describe the view

My wife and I had never visited Cashiers or Highlands, and we booked this wonderful garage apartment at the top of Bald Rock in Sapphire Valley. It's a gorgeous 20 minute drive to Cashiers, 20 minutes to Glenville Lake, and maybe 40 minutes to Highlands...but the scenery up here beats anything you will see in all of those locations.

Fall getaway

Our stay was phenomenal! The views were spectacular inside and out. One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The inside was spotless and the bathroom was extraordinary! We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return ! Just a perfect place for a couple to retreat to!

In 2009, My husband Dave and I, along with our family, vacationed near Sapphire. We immediately fell in love with the area and spent the next three years looking for the perfect piece of property in order to build our mountain home. My father, a retired architect, was the master designer and after two years of planning and 15 months of building, our mountain dream home was complete in 2015. We are so grateful to own this beautiful property and we are especially thrilled to have the legacy of my father's design in this home. It is a home that we hope will be in our family for generations to come. Although built with our retirement in mind, we are not quite ready for that stage of life. We currently use the home for family vacations and occasionally entertaining friends. Because of the limited use, we decided to share a part of our home and its gorgeous surroundings with others by making the guest house above the garage available for rent. I hope you enjoy this amazing property as much as we do!
