SNORKELING & SCUBA DIVING
UNDERWATER SNORKELING TRAIL at Phil Foster Park at the bridge.
The Blue Heron Bridge area is internationally recognized by scientists, scuba divers, underwater photographers, and snorkelers for its abundance of unique marine life. Squid, octopus, spotted rays, and starfish are regularly seen. A snorkel trail made of limestone boulders and prefabricated reef modules spans a two-acre area in 6 to 10 feet of water. 600 tons of rock were used to build this artificial reef!

The Blue Heron Bridge is called “Florida’s exotic critter capital." Scuba diving at the world renowned Blue Heron Bridge, also known as Phil Foster Park, is something every diver who visits West Palm Beach, Florida should experience. The Blue Heron Bridge is known as one of the best dive sites in the world for good reasons… Its diversity of marine life and its easy accessibility are just two of the many important traits of this terrific dive site.

When you dive the bridge, you encounter numerous sea creatures that are a rarity to find throughout the world. Seahorses and pipefish in all sizes and colors make the top of the list at this amazing dive site. Octopus, including the Atlantic long arm (aka. mimic octopus), can be found here. Add to the list the odd marine life such as sea robins, flying gurnards, batfish, frogfish, stargazers, and over 100 different species of nudibranchs.

It's a simple and free beach shore dive. The deepest depth you’ll find at the bridge is just over 20 feet. A 45 minute to two hour dive is the norm here. Best of all, no matter what the weather is like out on the open ocean, the Blue Heron Bridge is still accessible for diving thanks to its location in the protected Lake Worth Lagoon. Few dive sites in the world give you the option to dive when the weather turns for the worst.

Macarthur State Park
4 minutes from our door, is a delightful place to rent kayaks, encounter Manatee and Dolphin, enjoy pristine beaches, nature trails, outdoor concerts, and educational activities.

The Manatee Lagoon Visitor Center
Just around the corner. See live manatee when it's cold out. And when it's not, go for a lecture or free yoga class.

Turtle Watching
Each year from March to October thousands of Green, Loggerhead, & Leatherback sea turtles come to our shore to deliver approximately two million eggs. The highest density of nesting in the country happens right near our property.

FORCE-E SCUBA DIVING
Scuba Diving in the Riviera Beach area is world famous. Force-E Dive Center can have you diving on a different reef and wreck site every day for over a month. The fish life and the underwater topographies are majestic. Scuba Diving Magazine ranks the diving in this area as better than the Florida Keys in eight out of nine categories. The Riviera area has more fish, more wrecks, better reefs and better boats than anywhere in the U.S. The water is warm and clear. Most of the dive sites are within 15 minutes of the inlet.

SURF BOARD/PADDLE BOARD/Waverunner/Kayak
GET WET WATER SPORTS
just three streets north on Blue Heron Boulevard. They will coordinate all of your watersport fun for you.

KAYAKING IN THE ESTUARY
A few minutes away at MacArthur State Park. Kayakers can paddle around the estuary, under Burnt Bridge into the Lake Worth Lagoon and visit Munyon Island – an outlying part of the Park with a rich history. Depending on the season, you may see wildlife including manatees, dolphins, mullet, snook, rays, and a variety of birds. Munyon Island is best visited when the tide is high, enabling navigation of the scenic interior waterways. You can enjoy the calm kayaking waters of the Park in your own canoe/kayak, by joining a Ranger for a two-hour tour, or by renting a kayak and exploring on your own. Call for schedule.

UNBELIEVABLE BEACH
MacArthur Beach State Park, around the corner.
If you are a beach lover, a very special oasis awaits you at the end of a 1,600-foot boardwalk, which spans the most productive estuarine system in all of Lake Worth Cove. The Beach spans nearly 2 miles of the clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Snorkel/Scuba Dive from Beach-MacArthur Beach State Park
Scuba diving and snorkeling are permitted. Marine life is abundant on the reef and rock outcroppings that lie in shallow water near the beach. Reef squid, colorful tropical fish and schools of tarpon and snook are a source of delight for snorkelers.

The House
The House is all a couple could ask for . We loved the secluded back yard. Only grilled once due to beach, ball games and Navy Seal Museum in Ft Pierce. Ample cooking supplies. The two story Publix is an experience. The beach is not too far away, but like a city block walking if you can’t park behind the little strip mall. Restaurants are there also .. Highly recommend.
The house is very nicely decorated with a well stocked pantry and bathroom. The beds and furniture were comfortable. The fenced yard is beautifully landscaped and completely private. Our dog loved it. Jamie was great to work with and obviously cares about her property. The neighborhood is working class/poor with a lot of commercial properties. Our immediate neighborhood was well maintained and we felt safe walking around, etc. would definitely stay again.

Lovely 2 week stay
Exceptionally clean! Since it was our first visit to the area, all of the information left by the owner was very helpful. We enjoyed the lush private back yard and comfortable indoor seating/bedding. Jamie was immediately responsive to any needs. We would absolutely recommend.

About the host

Hosted by Hank Fisher

Host profile image
I have traveled quite a bit and lived in Japan for about four years.

My husband and I have enjoyed hosting Travelers for several years at our larger property around the corner. Since we launched The Sea Cave, we have hosted many scuba divers, motorcycle enthusiasts from Canada, holistic practitioners, snowbirds, business executives, Tony Robbins participants from Australia, our favorite yacht crews, and many other interesting guests.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property because of its large yard, corner lot, and covered parking. I love this unique location that lends itself to the best salt life activities and nature in the area at a fraction of the price of properties on the other side of the bridge. With so many state and county parks at your fingertips, it's a steal for the adventurer.

This area is transitioning into a super yacht location. Rybovich's north boatyard is bringing in luxury super yachts practically at our back door. I anticipate hosting many yacht crews as they can walk to their boat while being worked on. However, we are open to everyone and enjoy the unique experience that each Traveler brings to our collection of hosting memories.

The Blue Heron Bridge is beautiful on its own. From The Sea Cave you can walk a few blocks to the top of the bridge and enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Atlantic Ocean, Peanut Island, the Palm Beach Inlet, the Port of Palm Beach, Phil Foster Park, and the Intracoastal Waterway!

Given our central location, guests end up exploring so much more than usual. They do all of the local things but it's so convenient to head south a few minutes to West Palm Beach to enjoy downtown and all the beautiful spots there too. Then they cross one of the three bridges from West Palm and end up on the island of Palm Beach. There's Worth Avenue that is an old-world stroll you don't want to miss. Window shopping galore-Tiffany's, Chanel, romantic cafes in the vias.

Head north five to fifteen minutes and hit the turtle hospital, golf courses, the Jupiter Lighthouse, Carmine's Italian Market, Cod & Capers for a bowl of fresh chowder, more beaches, and The Gardens Mall.

What makes this property unique

Our oversized corner lot is now lush with plant life so you can enjoy a private backyard barbecue with green living walls. There are three beautiful Malayan palm trees perfectly spaced as the center pieces of backyard landscaping. The ocean breeze is almost always present.

You can walk to every sea sport imaginable from this location. Drift fishing, charter fishing, jet skis, kayaks, paddle boards, you name it.

There are three boat ramp options within blocks and the public marina is just 10 blocks away.

Our restaurant list highlights dog friendly locations.

We have great nearby dog swimming spots:

Phil Foster Park, just over our nearby bridge, has a sandy little spot on the north side of the ramps. Perfect for a salty dip.

Some people take their dogs before or after lifeguard hours to the nearby Ocean Reef Park and go for a swim.

10 blocks away you can board your pooch, free of charge, on the ferry and go to Peanut Island for a walk/swim together!

2 miles north you can visit Lakeside Park on the Intracoastal Waterway where dogs can have a salt water swim from the white sandy beach.
