Great location.
Very comfortable home. Great location to feel out of the crowd and be so close to so many activities. There is a marina nearby to rent boats or kayaks, plus the adventure center a short walk away with zip line, kayaking tours, etc. Easy to get to downtown when we wanted. Hosts are extremely kind and generous. It was a relaxing vacation for my family.

The Sleeping House
My grand daughter dubbed this lovely VRBO the sleeping house because we did not spend a lot of time here with so much to see and do in Ketchikan! This property worked well for my family, is immaculately clean and cozy with fun nautical decor, comfy beds and everything you need for a relaxing get away!

Our Peaceful House in the Woods
First, Jennifer was right there when we arrived from the ferry, with the van ready for us. Any questions we had, we got a text response right away. Very nice. This house was perfect for our recent 1 week stay with another couple, 4 of us total. The location is away from the hustle of Ketchikan, near Knudson Cove and South Point Higgins Beach. The first thing that we noticed is how neat and clean the house and property is. Modern appliances and furnishings, with lots of neat nautical maps on the walls, a nice living room area with sofas, lounge chairs, and lots of neat books to read! We loved getting up in the morning, and sitting out on the back deck with coffee. And use of the minivan was another plus. Very handy! Oh, can't forget the fire pit. We used it twice, made s'mores one day. What else? Almost every day, we discovered something else that our hosts had provided that we thought we needed to get at the store. So, when you first get here, look in all the cupboards and closets. For example, we like to have a box fan in the bedroom. We were just about to go buy one, and we found one in the hall closet. This place is literally equipped with all the comforts of home! And the size is just right. Not too big, but not too small. Perfect for 4-6 people. One night, we watched the northern lights. Perfect!

Let’s go fishing!
All of us were impressed with this place and the location is perfect to go fishing at either marina. The van really simplifies things too. The only thing that was a little bad was the bathroom got a little busy with 5 guys in the morning.

Quiet Little Slice Of Perfect
First and foremost, the property owners are great! Super responsive to messages and live near by should there be any issues. Super easy check out and check in procedures. This little home is super cute. Jen has decorated it to be so warm and cozy. The home is well stocked with everything you would need. From cooking supplies and spice pantry, to towels and even mineral soak for the bath. The home is located about 25 minutes out of downtown Ketchikan so you are out of the hustle and bustle but it is a bit of a distance for groceries so you'll want to plan for that. There is a little grocery store not too far away, but expect to pay for convenience (yikes). If you are looking to go fishing, hiking, be outside, explore beaches and parks, learn native peoples culture, in a quiet escape Knudson Cove and this little place is a little slice of perfect. We loved visiting Ketchikan and we are looking forward to staying in Knudson Cove again.

Welcome to Knudson Cove Rentals. We are the Etten Family! Rusty was born and raised in Ketchikan and grew up commercial fishing the waters of SE Alaska on his families’ boat “The Huntress”. He bought his first skiff at age 12 and hasn’t missed a season fishing in Ketchikan yet. I first came to Ketchikan in 2001 and instantly fell in love with the beauty and lifestyle SE Alaska has to offer and have made it my home since. We are raising our 3 daughters to love and appreciate beauty of the forest, bounty of the sea. We are so blessed to get to raise our family in Ketchikan and experience the freedom, beauty, and laid back island lifestyle. On a typical day you will find us hitting a local trail, beach combing, out fishing in our boat, or playing in the dirt growing as many veggies as this rain forest will allow. We would be honored to have you as our guest and look forward to helping you make the best of your Alaskan adventure.
Cheers,
Jen
