About this property

Historic Lodge with Modern Amenities

Welcome to Majestic Mountain Haus!

Fun Facts about this house: The Majestic Mountain Haus was built in 1971 using wood and beams from one of the oldest churches in Rowan County, North Carolina, dismantled in the early 1970s. The bar in the den was the original ticket counter in the train station of the steam-powered Best Friend of Charleston train. It was the first locomotive train built in the United States and had its inaugural run in 1830!

Note: Majestic Mountain Haus has a Strict No Pet Policy due to Owner Allergies.

*** Majestic Mountain Haus does not have Air Conditioning. (Enjoy cool mountain breezes above 4000 feet in elevation.)
***** There is space to park two (2) cars. Additional parking is possible across from the Town of Beech Mountain Town Hall.

This lodge has both new comforts and amenities as well as original/pre-original elements and decor. Together they offer a unique yet charming mountain vacation experience. Suitable for groups of up to 19 people, this house sits on a high-elevation, wooded property with year-round mountain views and an outdoor, wood-burning fire pit. It is exactly one mile to the slopes of Beech Mountain Ski Resort, the ice skating rink, and the sledding hill. There are countless walking and hiking trails, marked and unmarked, and numerous rivers, creeks, lakes, and streams. Buckeye Lake Recreation Center offers indoor and outdoor activities for all who wish to partake (--> Buckeye Recreation Center <--).

Majestic Mountain Haus opens up with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams in the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen areas. The living room offers a large, wood-burning fireplace, comfortable leather sofas, a large flat panel HDTV with a DVD player, massive windows that frame the mountain view, and a large sliding glass door leading out to the patio. The dining area boasts the original wood dining table that seats ten (10) people. Beside the dining table is seating for four (4) more at the bar area separating the dining from the kitchen. The kitchen offers unique Quartz countertops and stainless appliances. There is a half bath/powder room on the main floor.

The main floor offers two queen master suites with full bathrooms and a third bedroom with two twin beds. One of the two master suites has an HDTV with expanded digital cable programming.

Upstairs offers a spacious loft bedroom with a full bed, a twin bed, and a full bathroom with a shower.

Downstairs offers two king master suites with full bathrooms and a third bunk bedroom. It has two twin-over-full bunk beds and a half bathroom. One of the downstairs master suites has an HDTV with expanded digital cable programming.

Downstairs opens up to a large central den with a bar and game room. There is a comfy, central, L-shaped sofa and an additional seating area with two stuffed chairs and a coffee table. Games include an 8-foot slate pool table with a ping pong topper and a foosball table. A large Smart TV with a BluRay player rounds out the entertainment equipment. The room's focal point is the solid-wood bar, nearly 200 years old and originally the ticket counter in a train station. It was saved from destruction and repurposed to serve as a beautiful bar with six bar stools. Behind this bar are a bar sink and fridge. There are a second table and chairs in the den for game-play or additional dining.

The lodge seats up to twenty-six (26) guests. Dining options are as follows. A dining table on the main floor seats ten (10) people. Beside the dining table is a bar top that seats four (4) people. Downstairs at the central bar, there are six (6) bar stools, and the table downstairs seats another six (6) people for a total of twenty-six (26) people.

The main floor rear deck has numerous rocking chairs, a picnic-style outdoor dining table, and a gas grill. The rear downstairs deck features the hot tub and steps to the backyard and the fire pit.

Filthy, unsecured home in a beautiful setting that was disappointing
We notified the rental company that we may have a late arrival so they provided an after hours number we could text, After a 14 hour drive, we arrived late that evening.. It was very dark, no ground lighting. There are drops at entry my mag lights were very helpful. I found the lower lever sliding glass door unlocked. I notified my daughter about the situation and that I was going search the entire house before they could enter. I was afraid of animals. I searched the home, I found empty beer cans and blankets on the floor in the game room. Now afraid someone was there. I found the home very dirty, the beds were disgusting, blood on pillows, body hair on the sheets . they looked as though just slept in. Bed blankets laying on the floor in the dirty closets next to the full vacuum cleaners not on the beds. Bathtub drain with hair, bugs in the kitchen cupboards, food in the garbage can, silverware. I notified the management asking for clean sheets an told them what we walked into. Their response was no one was on that could bring up clean sheets but would make things right first thing in the morning. There was no mention in the rules about washer and dryer on site, I did not bring laundry soap. I asked management if they could provide soap that night so I could start washing the beds and clean the house. I was told not their responsibility to provide cleaning supplies. We wiped down the naugahyde couches so my grandkids and daughter could sleep. Glad we brought extra towels for the hot tub and car blankets because that was all we had to sleep with. It was 10:50 am the next morning when I called the office asking when someone would be there. The rest of my family was coming. We were there for a family wedding. I spent all the first night washing everything with my dish soap and clorox clean up & continued cleaning the next day spent $150 supplies to clean the 2nd night. The hot tub was filled with leaves and water dirty. After seeing filthy home, I would not let anyone use it. I complained and sent 30 plus pictures to management that I took upon arrival. The pictures showed that this home has not been cleaned for very long time. I had to ask for a refund of cleaning fee and the night we could not sleep in the beds. I should be refunded for the time I spent cleaning that home and refund what I spent on cleaning supplies which I left for next poor soul that rents from Carolina Cabins. It was awful there. I feel bad for the owners of the home!

Lovely Family Vacation
What a perfect time of the year to visit! The fall colors were stunning! The house was just right for our family of 9 adults and 3 kids -- there was plenty of space and fun things to do. We had a great time.

TreeHouse by the Creek
This cosy cabin nestled in the trees and located beside a creek is the perfect place to relax and breathe the cool mountain air. Great place for family and kids. Be sure to read about the history of the cabin and it’s contents. Will definitely return.
