About this property

Alaskan Log Cabin

A vacation trip to Alaska isn't complete until you've stayed in a real Alaskan Log Cabin.

The large diameter logs were harvested in Haines Alaska and trucked up to Valdez where Serendipity Log Works hand peeled and scribed these logs into what I wanted.
Take a walk up and down the hand crafted all traditional mortise and tenon joinery stairs made by Precision Timberworks here in Seward.

Filled with live plants and stunning artwork from all over the world.
Enjoy the outside fire pit with your family and friends. Cook your days catch on the BBQ and enjoy a large kitchen to make your memories and meals.
Soak in a claw foot tub, (circa early 1900's) the bracket was made by a famous local Artist James Minden who used salvaged metal from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake. Or walk into a stunning tile walk in shower with pebble floor.
Crawl into bed and under a down comforter after a long day out playing.

Construction was completed in the fall of 2016. After this it took almost two years to do the finish work and the fine detail work of sanding and staining logs, adding local art and handpicking furniture to make this house as comfortable, cozy, warm and welcoming as possible.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay!
This is an exceptionally clean, comfortable, and enjoyable property. It’s spacious and inviting. Windows are gorgeous with great views of forest and mountains. Lighting is bright and cheery. Furniture, furnishings, and artwork throughout the entire property are beautiful. The open-concept layout of the kitchen, dining area, and great room was a highlight for us. It was our main gathering area. We really enjoyed this space for meal preparation, dining, and conversation. The kitchen is well-equipped with very nice appliances and dishes. The laundry facilities were also a pleasant surprise. They include top-notch appliances and are conveniently located near the main gathering area; doing the laundry was actually enjoyable. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable with luxurious linens. The property is conveniently located just a few minutes up the road from Seward. Communication with Julie, our host, was easy and her response to our messages was always prompt. Our stay at this beautiful property was absolutely wonderful!

Stunning Cabin Experience
This is the second time we’ve had the opportunity to stay here. This time is was six friends staying the weekend in Seward. The cabin is phenomenal, with artistic treasures everywhere you look. From the kitchen equipment to the bathroom necessities Julie has thought of it all. I highly recommend the cabin for anyone who wants a great Alaskan experience.

Great Seward stay
What can I say that all the other great reviews have already said. I had high expectations and this place exceeded them. Great 3 bedroom home that also masks as an art museum.

Born and raised in Alaska. I started working on commercial fishing and tug boats when I was 16 and received my USCG Captains license when I was 21. After many years at sea I began to start missing land and purchased the property when I was 30 and started the transition.

Why they chose this property

This property is an extension of me and who I am. The cabin has been decorated from my experiences in life and I try very hard to create and not purchase what everyone else has in their homes.
Staying here you'll enjoy a unique, clean, cozy, private, and beautiful cabin.

What makes this property unique

This private property is a the end of a quiet subdivision.
