RECENTLY RENOVATED 10/15 to include new carpets, mattresses, furniture and granite countertops!!!
We stayed here for a lovely week in July. We found the place easily with Tom's directions. Tom is very accommodating and does a good job of remembering small stuff you might need. The home is a few miles out of the town center in a quiet but not too remote area. In Errol, there is an Irving Gas station, general store with butcher shop, a few restaurants, and the famous LL Cote store. We enjoyed great ice cream cones there! The home itself is up a steep hill so I think 4 wheel drive in winter would be good. Tom had given us an email with some important info about the home and location and when we arrived there was also a binder with all this info plus more. There is also a drawer with brochures of lots of fun things to do in the area as well as ATV and snowmobile maps. The home itself is beautiful and clean just as in the pictures. We loved the wrap around deck where he has different seating options and we enjoyed them all. What was nice was you could choose sun or shade most of the day. The gas grill was also handy and he even had a spare propane tank full in case it ran out. Inside the kitchen had most anything a kitchen usually has. There were even a few spices and condiments you could use if necessary but we brought what we knew we'd use. We had great weather but one bad thunderstorm caused us to lose power for a few hours one night. No problems - there were plenty of candles and matches (ambiance for the jacuzzi tub) and we ended up playing board games and pool by candlelight - an awesome memory for us all! We also took daily walks in the area. It was quite hilly which I really liked (more calories)- we always went right out of the driveway and walked uphill 1 mile then back downhill 1mile. :) You can walk all the way around the loop as well. We did see animal tracks on the road. One thing you should be aware of - watch your GPS. Once we went to Stark, the site of the NH POW camp from WWll. On our way home, our GPS took us a different way and we ended up after about 10 miles on an ATV trail! We even met a moose very close up. My husband said "Break for moose!" so we stopped and he watched us awhile and then went on his merry way. We got home safely and have a great story to tell! All in all, I would say this home was a FANTASTIC choice for renting. We enjoy snowmobiling in the winter and this place will be high on our list of places to visit. Great place any season!
The photos do no justice to how awesome this place is. Such a perfect place to stay for a family.
The house was very clean and had so many surprises that kept us busy and having fun. Nothing like watching nascar, playing pool, and then stepping outside to watch the sunset.
This place was in a very quiet neighborhood and the only sounds we heard were the birds that were around.
Thanks Tom for everything!!
My family and I stayed at the cabin for the week of New Years. Before arriving we were already impressed in the timely manner in which Tom, the cabin owner responded and gave us all of the information that we needed. We over-prepared for the cabin unaware that we would arrive to a full kitchen and amenities.
Our family stayed a whole week with our dogs (even with the 6 of us we had plenty of room) and each day was a new adventure. The view each morning overlooking the mountains was breath-taking and the place itself was in perfect, clean and pristine condition and even decorated for the holidays. The pictures make the cabin rooms look a lot smaller than they are so we were pleasantly surprised by the space which allowed us to kick back and relax.
During our stay Tom was efficient in answering our questions and we felt at home. We arrived to a book full of local information and helpful tips. We explored the grounds and made use of the snow -going an hour away to cross-country ski and snowmobile. We had a blast and could not have asked for a more comfy space to come back to at the end of our longs days and on the days where we preferred to stay by the fire. We made full use of the game room with a family tournament of darts, fooseball and pool.
It was such a relief to find a place to vacation home that included everything we needed all with great views.
We would highly recommend this cabin to others and are looking forward to coming again soon!
We had a perfect long weekend at this beautiful cabin! The cabin was cozy and provided all the comforts of home. Many hours were spent in the loft playing pool, darts and cards. We enjoyed cooking big breakfasts and family dinners in the well appointed kitchen. A soak in the large jacuzzi tub was a great way to end a day spent playing outside with our dogs. Make sure if you rent this home in the winter, you have a 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. The hill leading to the cabin is steep and windy and not well maintained. Once we made it up the hill, we didn't want to come back down for the great time we had. We will be back for sure!
This is one of those scenarios where the written or spoken word cannot do justice to accurately depict the reality of this fine camp. My wife and I stayed for a 3 day mini-vacation and could not have hoped for a more wonderful stay. This cabin is immaculate and we were stunned on arrival to find things as clean and perfect as they were. The pictures cannot do true justice to just how splendid this cabin is. Every conceivable amenity is included and makes just unpacking and enjoying all that is left! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the views and sunsets from the deck are unsurpassed. Discretionary income is harder to come by these days, but this cabin is a true value in every way. We were so impressed that we immediately booked another stay. If it is the pure serenity of peace and quiet, the amenities anyone could need and the prospect of being overwhelmed by rustic charm and fantastic sunsets - this is the rental for you! The charm of the game loft, the double-sided fireplace, the cleanliness and comfort are truly a delight. Tom was simply wonderful to work with and made us feel welcome and cared about. It does not get any better than this dreamy vacation retreat! If there were more stars on the rating - we would max it out every time!! Thank you Tom

My husband and I were looking for a quiet weekend away and this was perfect! We didn't do too much site seeing as there was plenty to keep us busy and relaxed in the house. The pictures don't do the cabin justice as far as beauty and cleanliness. It was perfect and gorgeous! The view of the mountains was great! Main was a short drive away with some great stops of amazing views. Lots of hiking in the area as well. I highly recommend and look forward to going back again in the future.
The area is abundant with wildlife and outdoor activities! Moose/Deer/Bear watching, scenic vistas and drives, waterfalls, hike, bike, boat, golf, ski, hunt, fish or just relax! Its only minutes from Dixville Notch State Park and the Balsams Wilderness Resort (currently closed), Androscogin River, Akers Pond and Lake Umbagog. Additionally, Grafton Notch State Park, Sunday River Resort and the Rangely Lakes Region in Maine are only a short drive away. Located in Colebrook and for a small donation use the North Country Community Recreation Center with indoor pool and winter ice skating! The houses' location is a great starting point for day trips to Canada, Vermont, Pittsburg NH and White Mountain attractions as well! There is also direct access to snowmobile trails and we're very close to ATV trails!
