About this property

Secluded Water View Studio Apartment

Located "out the road" on an elevated bluff of Point Lena, Juneau BnB (Bed not Breakfast), offers full service amenities with panoramic views of Stevens Passage, Admiralty Island, and Shelter Island. Get away from the hotels in downtown Juneau and get a true "Alaskan Experience" by using our amenities as your base camp for a great Southeast Alaskan vacation.

The home and this studio apartment completed construction in 2017 with the full intent of renting to vacationers. As such, careful planning was done, to ensure a great experience by our guests. You will have your own private entrance to your unit with a large entry space to take off rain gear and wet boots, full kitchen with a full sized refrigerator, full bathroom, washer/dryer, TV (Netflix & Hulu), and of course Wi-Fi. If your party requires additional space you can see our other VRBO listing which offers this studio apartment plus an adjoining queen bedroom (Vrbo 1019944)

Lena Point is located near mile post 16 of Glacier Hwy. The residence is walking distance to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric (NOAA) facility, Point Lena Trail Head and Lena Beach is a short 2 minute drive away. We are located close to a wide network of trails, beaches, points of interest, and scenic viewpoints (which is why we chose to live here). With that being said, we're only 5 minutes from Auke Bay where you'll find restaurants, 10 minutes from the Mendenhall Valley which has more grocery and dining options or you can be downtown in 20 minutes.

Summer 2023 in Juneau, Alaska
Husband stayed 3 months in Juneau property and I stayed one month, but wished for longer. The studio suite is located in a beautiful, quiet, residential area and has own entrance. Beautifully decorated with local art/photos, high ceiling, windows open for a fresh breeze, comfy sitting area, full kitchen with all the supplies you need, comfy bed/bedding, washer/dryer. We had a car and there is parking spot right in front of private entrance. Hosts Jesse, Renee and family were so kind, friendly, helpful. Their property is well maintained, with great attention to detail. Property is close to hiking trails, fishing, Lena Beach area, Auke Bay Harbor, ferry terminal, Lena Point Trail, brewery. Watch stunning sunsets, birds, and boats go by from the beautiful yard area. Jesse, Renee, family and neighbors, thank you for being such wonderful hosts to us this summer.

Awesome Retreat
Far enough away from the commercial area of Juneau to be a peaceful retreat. Just gazing out the windows was vacation enough for me (but I also hiked and boated). Spotless. Well equipped.

About the host

Welcome to our house! We (Jesse and Renee) completed this house construction in early 2017 with the intent of creating a vacation rental for vacationers to use our property as a base camp for their visit to SE Alaska. Jesse had a unique opportunity to work as an intern with the State of Alaska in 2004 and filled up his summer with hiking, fishing, exploring, etc. Since then we had vacationed to Alaska multiple times before an opportunity presented itself for employment and a permanent residence in Alaska.

Why they chose this property

We waited a year before this land on an elevated bluff overlooking water and surrounding mountains became available. For the past 2 years we've been in construction and are finally ready to share our adventure home with you. We're most definitely a unique property, just far enough away from the Juneau town center to get the "Alaska feel" but close enough that you have access to all that Juneau has to offer.
