Holiday in the cottage of Mrs. and Mr. Rolland in Saint Joseph, La Reunion

We made holiday for 3 weeks in the cottage of Mrs. and Mr. Rolland in Saint Joseph, La Reunion. We felt in the cottage very well. We had a wonderful time and had seen much of the island. A highlight was the tower in the garden. We could see the ocean and watch the birds, especially the cardinal bird.

Owner's Response: Dear Miss and Mister Gölker, and son, you have appreciate our simple home, for the same reasons we love it : a savage and wild place in center of StJoseph ... sorry for circulation noise, next finished with street derivation. Since yesterday, we have 8 new Koï fish, ... and baby birds (the parents lived in the nest near bedroom door). I hope four you, a fine return at home. Greetings. jmrolland

Un parfait lieu de détente avec les vagues en fond sonore et une vue sur la mer depuis le hamac !

Propriété conforme à ce que nous en attendions ( résidence familiale sans "chichis" proche de la mer et disposant d'un terrain) avec pour cerise sur le gâteau l'extrême gentillesse et réactivité des hôtes qui font tout pour faciliter les choses ! Encore merci à Patricia et à Jean-Michel.

enfin une location qui sort des sentiers battus

en dehors de la gentillesse des propriétaires nous avons apprécié la clim naturelle régulée par le vent de l'océan et la vie au naturel( chant des oiseaux, bruit des vagues,lézards courants sur les murs)

de plus cette location est bien située pour toutes les visites vers le volcan et le sud de l'ile

Owner's Response: merci de cette évaluation, cette maison était faite pour vous ; elle correspond à la vie tranquille et simple du "temps longtemps", ce qui nous a fait aimer la Réunion il y a 25 ans. L'île a bien évolué, tant mieux par certains côtés, nostalgie par d'autres : cette maison est presque une maison témoin, plus personne ne veut de sols en ciment ciré, qui se passerait de climatisation? Bruyant , trop de passage tracteurs, camions...

Maison de bric et de broc... Électricité à revoir, pas de climatisation mais ventilateur, spa= baignoire, barbecue= chariot de supermarché ... Déçu ! La photo n'est pas la réalité du cabanon Créole. Photos à l'appui.

Comme à la maison

Nous avons adoré la maison. Le grand jardin et les hamacs invitent à la détente. Tout est très propre et la maison est très bien équipée que ce soit pour la cuisine ou le reste (produits du quotidien, lit bébé, serviettes...). Comme la jardin est clôturé, c'est l'idéal avec des enfants. On se sent vraiment chez soi et nous avons été très bien accueillies par Patricia qui a été très arrangeante sur les horaires. C'est sur, ce sera mon adresse quand je retournerai voir ma famille dans le coin.

a plan to get to the rental, from St Pierre /

Follow the coastal road for 17 km direction St Joseph from St Pierre.

At the end of the course, a long descent, ocean on the right, limited to 50 km / h at the end of the section, will take you to a big crossroads, with 02 red dancers in the middle = TAKE the 1st to the right, direction Lycée Agricole (and not the 2nd direction St Joseph, which would make you pass over the city).

Continue to a second junction (restaurant Quick on the left), = straight on, you enter St Joseph.

Drive on a good km = supermarkets on your left, Tamoil station on the left, Score on the right, then many shops ...

You arrive at the crossroads said Renault, the name of the dealer on the right visible = turn right, you are in the street Admiral Lacaze.

Follow the street for about 700 meters, and 03 or 04 speed bumps further, on your right, a long yellow papaya wall, the number 35 on the left pillar ...

We will leave the large gate 4 meters long open, it is a good benchmark.

If you get lost, we get a radio guide! Good road.
