Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The Douglas Guest House was perfect for our stay in Juneau! We were busy during the days and it was so nice to be able to come home and cook a nice dinner. The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. The fullsize refrigerator was a bonus - we had lots of salmon to freeze for our trip home. The washer and dryer were a big help with dirty, damp, clothes. Most of all, the studio is charming - we made the perfect choice and would definitely stay again on a future trip!

Hear the Ravens Calling

  • 5 of 5

I loved driving up the little hilly roads to the property ... going home to my island retreat. What a lovely location - on a cul-de-sac bordering a wooded area to the south, and looking out across the Gastineau Channel to the east (from the stairs). It's in a nice quiet neighborhood, so quiet that in the early evening you can hear the ravens deep-throated calls in the forest. Wonderful!

I stayed in the studio and had everything I needed to make my vacation easy and relaxing. :-)

The property owner, Diana, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I had a great time, and wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Douglas Guest House again when I visit Juneau.

Cozy and friendly getaway

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay in this well-appointed rental. The beds were very comfortable, and we felt that we had plenty of room. We really liked being at the end of the road, near several hiking trails and away from the bustle of the cruise-ship part of town. We recommend visiting the State Museum in town, as well as the mining museum near the Perseverance Trail, and of course the glacier is a must-see. The owners are very friendly, and were quite apologetic for a communication breakdown with the housekeeper (we had to wait a few minutes after arriving to get into the apartment). Overall this is a very nice place, extremely economical and comfortable.

Comfy and reasonable

  • 5 of 5

My family was able to settle in for an extended stay, having the comforts of home. Everything worked, and the apartment was clean. The cost was less than most hotels in Juneau, which added to the enjoyment. Nice set up, location, and easy parking which is hard to come by in this town. At first, it is a little confusing which door to go to, an extra sign would be helpful.

DOUGLAS GUEST HOUSE DIRECTIONS

Directions from Juneau airport to Douglas Guest House

Exit from airport and stay on that road until you merge onto Egan Drive. It is a 4-lane highway and you will be heading south towards downtown Juneau.

Stay on Egan Drive for approximately 7 to 8 miles.

You will head into town and the speed limit will drop to 45 m.p.h.

You will pass 2 boat harbors on your right and then come to a traffic light.

Take a right here on 10th Street, crossing over the Gastineau Channel on the Juneau-Douglas bridge.

At the roundabout, take a left to the town of Douglas.

This road is Douglas Highway.

Go about 2 miles to the town of Douglas.

The road changes to 3rd Street.

Go through town and it comes to a Y.

Veer to the right onto St. Ann’s Avenue.

You will head up a hill and go to the end and take a right onto Treadwell Street. The sign has been missing for a while. But it is the last road on the right before St. Ann’s ends in a parking lot.

Go up this steep incline and take a left onto 5th Street at the top.

Take your next right onto Laurel Dr. and go up this hill taking a sharp left onto 6th Street.

Take 6th to the end and you go right into our cul-de-sac.

Our duplex is on the left and you can park at the first parking curb to your left (just to the right of the carport/garage.)

Enter at the main entrance (to the right of where you park). You will go down the concrete steps onto the main deck. Veer to the left and go down one set of stairs to the first landing. You are at the Douglas Guest House! WELCOME!
