About this property

Island Paradise on Lake Winnepasaukee - BOAT REQUIRED

This spectacular private home sits on the calm side of Rattlesnake Island with a southern exposure and gorgeous views from every room. The island is easily accessible by private boat. Island living is amazing as it is so peaceful and rarely bugs or mosquitos!

We rented houses all over Lake Winnepasaukee for 15 years and when we rented this one we knew we had to buy it! What makes this house so special is that it sits out over the water with views from every room making it cheerful even on rainy days. We have a Boat House (which is very rare) a large dock for sunbathing with stairs and ladder access into the crystal clear water. There is docking for two boats. Towns, restaurants and grocery store can all be accessed by boat. Car parking is in Alton at the Rattlesnake Island private lot.

We do a lot of entertaining, so the kitchen and pantry are fully stocked along with gourmet cookware, gadgets, serving pieces and dishes. The dining table outside sits 8 and has a retractable awning to block the sun or rain. The dining table inside seats 8 and the granite island seats 4. Sliding doors on all sides of the house and large wood ceiling fans keep the house cool and comfortable. We also have air conditioning for those hot summer nights.
The covered porch with double size swing bed is a favorite spot to read or nap and the potted flowers on all the decks are gorgeous. House is baby proofed with easy to use gates on the deck.
The master bedroom has 3 sliding doors facing east and south for amazing views right from your bed! The deck off the master has a large bed to relax and enjoy the view. Master bathroom features granite countertops, double sinks, glass shower and bidet. Guest rooms all have sliding glass doors and ceiling fans. The loft bedroom has spectacular views and has two double beds and 1 double futon. The guest bath has granite countertops and glass shower. The utility room off kitchen has a washer and dryer.
Waterskiing/wakeboarding is amazing right from the dock as we are in a well protected area.
The bass fishing is also fantastic right off the dock.
Rattlesnake Island is a 2 mile long island on Lake Winnepasaukee which has 300 homes lining its shores. The island has the highest point on the entire lake making for spectacular views from its summit. Rattlesnake Island has a hiking trail that runs down the spine of the island. It is one of the most sought after hiking trails on the lake, but access to the island is limited to residents.

Family Vacation
What a great way to spend a family vacation. We had 5 adults and one child. The house was the perfect size, as we were not bumping into each other and everyone had their own bedroom which also gave us all some privacy. The lake was very clean and the water crystal clear. My granddaughter even made friends with the little girl next store. Island living was a little different as you really have to be organized with your groceries. The owner even came out to the island from Vermont to fix the water pump. Cindy and Dean were very approachable and helpful. Thank you for a vacation memories that we will never forget.

Incredible Lake Winnipesaukee Island Experience
Modern well appointed Island Property on Americas most beautiful lake. Everything (and more) that you need to experience the Lake including great docking and a boathouse. You need to be an experienced boater to do this but that's part of the fun isn't it. Very friendly and responsive owner helped enormously. The flock of wild turkeys who visited regularly only added to fun. 6 Stars........

Little bit of everything
Great family vacation. My husband and I have a blended family and children range in ages from 9-24. Everyone had a wonderful time! Fishing was great! Hiking and views were amazing! The town of Wolfboro was about 10-15 minutes away. Cindy and Brian were very accommodating and responsive to any questions and concerns that we had! I highly recommend this property for any age!

Why they chose this property

We rented houses all over Lake Winnepasaukee for 15 years and when we rented this one we knew we had to buy it! It is one of a kind!!! Waking up in the morning to spectacular views right from your bed is amazing! This is a luxury home, not a camp. There are Granite countertops throughout, gorgeous wood planked ceilings, excellent mattresses and pillows, luxury bedding, Lutron lighting system, The swing bed on the covered porch is everyone’s favorite spot to spend the day! Island living is amazing as it is so quiet and there are rarely bugs or mosquitos, which allows you to enjoy the evenings outside. When it rains, you can still sit outside on the covered porch or under the awning. Rattlesnake Island has a hiking trail that runs down the spine of the island. It is one of the most sought after hiking trails on the lake, but access to the island is limited to residents.
