In the rice fields, far from roads, a real get away. Unique and exotic. Marvelous views from the second story veranda. Two beds, two en suite bathrooms, two verandas, swimming pool, large kitchen, fully staffed, tropical garden, paintings, sculpture, antique furniture.
This house was designed by two artists with an eye for beauty. You will live surrounded by fish ponds, fountains, water falls, a lotus pond, in a tropical walled garden. From the verandas, you look across the garden to a private swimming pool and two covered sitting spots for pool side lounging. The house and sitting spots are ornamented with carved wood and stone, sculpture, paintings, antique Javanese, Balinese and Timur furniture, exotic marble and tile floors, shower mosaics.
We will work with you to organize your arrival, get taxi quotes, find help carrying your luggage and make you welcome with an arrival orientation. The staff will give you the password to the WiFi system, which has sufficient speed for personal Internet use.
Both the master bedroom upstairs and the down stairs sleeping space have their own verandas. The upstairs veranda is a private place to relax and enjoy the view. The large down stairs veranda has a carved dining table that seats 10, next to an entertainment area with antique Javanese furniture. The inside-outside design is called "Bali Style", with rooms flowing through large glass sliding doors onto verandas, which in turn flow out into the garden.
In the down stairs sleeping area is a day bed, which can be converted to a sleeping spot if there are five of you. The downstairs sleeping area connects with the kitchen, perfect for midnight snacks.
Our staff are professionals who will shop if you give them money, cook some meals, clean, Launder sheets and towels as needed, take out your personal laundry to an inexpensive service, and tell you all about Bali and the Balinese.
The fully appointed kitchen includes an oven (rare in Bali) and a servery for meals at the dining table.
You reach the house by walking along foot paths in the rice fields, far from traffic noise. Walk 3 minutes to a variety of local restaurants, a yoga studio, spa/massage, and several small shops. There are motor bike rental shops, two taxi stands and a large super market close by. Walk 5 minutes to the restaurants and shops of our local village or walk 15 minutes into Ubud. The best walks wind through rice fields, down to our river and its jungle, past views of the Western mountains, past rice field ducks and rice farmers, to the local Hindu temple.
Not suitable for young children or disabled. Access up the Penestanan Steps for exercise, or on flat walking paths, or by motor bike.
