Regret.
We stayed for a week in July and it will certainly be our last. During our stay, the temperatures in the area exceeded 90 degrees during the day and absolutely no A/C or ventilation is provided. Of course, the listing does not mention the lack of A/C, leaving the onus on the customer to notice it's absence. The owners are fortunate that the property is located in California where, unlike other states in the area, state law does not require air conditioning-- the unit would not have otherwise met the requirements for a safe and habitable dwelling in its current state. If you are traveling with with small children or the elderly, please consider somewhere else as this unit is absolutely unsafe during the day due to the high chance for heat stroke. At night, the temperature was barely tolerable with the extensive use of wet towels and ice packs. In the mornings, our beds were drenched in sweat and regret. After the first morning, to this unit's credit, it was amusing that all 4 of us revealed that we had individually checked the cancellation policy. Despite no refunds being available, we all would have been willing to pay to stay at another location had there been any affordable vacancies. There were dead bugs in the upstairs room as well as bugs flying around the apartment. The upstairs bedroom did not have a screened window we could open to prevent the intrusion though it was obvious from the graveyard of dead bugs when we arrived that the previous tenants still considered them preferable to keeping even a tiny window closed. There are red dirt spots on the ceiling in shower upstairs. The rug was kind of dirty. There were visible stains on the rug. Overall, the place did not seem super clean, but it was manageable. Wi-Fi is not included on the list of amenities, though other units had it. No cable. This meant there wasn’t a lot to do in the apartment, which fortunately left more time to tend to the ice packs and wet towels. Definitely would have been better with Wi-Fi, and considering we found a router in one of the cupboards, they have the capability. The “deck” is not really a deck, it’s pretty small. Not sure why this is even listed as a feature. The location was nice with nearby trails, restaurants, horseback riding, and lake access to escape the blistering heat inside our rooms. In summary, though the surrounding area was nice, we would never recommend this place to stay in during the summer.

There is NO internet & not as clean as in the pictures
Despite reading many of the reviews (a few of which said the internet is not working, implying that there was internet) I did not find out until I got into the property that it has no internet. The only place I found that notice was under the COVID-19 announcements in the Vacasa app, since they manage the property. Much of the rest of the place is as advertise though much less clean that it appears. Carpets had many stains, some of which I preferred to leave as mysteries. Beds and bedclothes were good. A pile of towels was left in the dryer when I arrived. The place was cold, as expected, so I plugged in the oil radiators that are in the rooms. Within 30 minutes a lot of the power was out. I had to struggle to find who to call and ended up having to call Vacasa and got someone in Florida who told me she'd get the building maintenance on to it and that I should call back in 30 mins if nothing happened. As I was on the phone 30 mins later, the maintenance guy did call and told me how NOT to use the radiators and how to find the breakers that had be triggered. There was a wood stove but only big pieces of firewood no kindling, 3 matches and a lighter that did not work. The maintenance guy was nice and brought me a lot of paper and a new lighter. From then on the place was warm and comfortable. I could not find any laundry detergent (though there were dishwasher pods) so I could not wash my ski clothes. All in all not unpleasant but pretty disappointing, not easy to use and expensive and inconvenient in all the cell phone data I had to use.

Would not stay here again
There was a strong burn smell coming from the oven when we arrived. We were on hold for almost an hour to get support and then had to call two more times to get through. Received a text the next day and asked to speak to a manager via text. Never got a call back. Also, the property didn’t have WiFi so we had to spend most of our time out of the condo. Also no streaming service or cable. Wouldn’t stay here again. (Rude neighbors, too.)

Great location. Really close to Alpine Thanks!
Great stay, loved the location. Close to town, close to the lifts. Heat could have been a little warmer, but overall a great stay.
