About Steven Robinson

We are a British family who first invested in a waterfront fisherman's cottage on the island of Brac(property no. 55026) in 2004 and fell in love with Croatia's wonderful landscapes, people and food. In 2013 we felt it was time to make a second purchase in this beautiful, historic centre of Split and were fortunate enough to find this very special property. In April 2014, we completed the project and are looking forward to making this lovely apartment available for others to enjoy.

Steven Robinson purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Steven Robinson chose Split

It's a perfectly positioned, spacious apartment with its own very rare, private terrace in the historic Diocletian's Palace. The apartment offers access to a beautiful coastline, a great deal of Roman history and many excellent restaurants, cafés and shops. Even the local supermarket is a site of historical interest. There is an amazing daily fish and vegetable market a short walk away, as well as an abundance of bakeries for your freshly baked, daily loaf! Why not enjoy a two stop holiday in Croatia by booking some time in our Brac island property, no. 55026

What makes this apartment unique

We were instantly attracted to this wonderful apartment by the high ceilinged, generously proportioned rooms and private terrace all set within a site of Roman antiquity and so perfectly located for enjoying all the delights Split has to offer. We now feel able to offer a two stop holiday experience of Croatia by offering potential visitors the opportunity to enjoy the hustle and bustle city experience in addition to the beauty and relaxation on the island of Brac - see property no. 55026 for more details. Also, we are in the process of partnering with the best and largest Split based excursion company for 2016 which runs a variety of professional tours in Dalmatia to suit all tastes. We will shortly post details of this but guests of Prisca will receive a 20% discount of the listed price of all tours.

Fantasic!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in August at this fabulous apartment with my mum and sister-in-law. The apartment was beautifully located in the old town of Split - surrounded by atmosphere, restaurants and shops - step out the door and you are amongst it!! The apartment is as in the photos - beautifully decorated, well appointed and very clean. The large and private balcony is a perfect spot to relax any time of the day we particularly enjoyed having breakfast and evening drinks there. The kitchen is very well appointed - although we didn't cook as we never do when on holidays!! The two bedrooms are very large with exceptionally large bathrooms. As we didn't want to share bedrooms - I slept in the lounge room on the sofa bed which was very comfortable - there is a screen which can be pulled across for complete privacy if you so wish - there is also a third bathroom for those sleeping in the lounge - and it is also a well appointed bathroom. The manager, Bolto, was very friendly and helpful - providing maps, etc on arrival and answering all our questions. As far as we are concerned there are no negatives with this property. We had a fabulous time here, would stay again and highly recommend the apartment.

Simply beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

The property manager greeted us at our car and walked us to the appartment, also carrying some of our luggage. We settled in our beautiful appartment which was spacious and very nicely decorated. We had everything we needed for our stay. The property manager returned to let us know all the things we could see and do. The location was in the heart of old Split and we never had to use our car. Great stay!

Wonderful location impeccably clean modern and comfortable

We were a group of four and found the apartment most spacious and comfortable it was well equipped and a great location. Baldo and his family were most welcoming and informative; he arranged pick up and delivery to our next destination. We would recommend taking advantage of this extra service

Absolutely Fantastic Apartment

  • 5 of 5

I am somewhat reluctant to write a glowing review as this may lead to the Apartment being so fully booked I will not be able to get a holiday next year!,

As you can tell from my opening line, we had an amazing time in Split, this Apartment was a very strong contributing factor.

My Wife and I are very well accustomed to renting accommodation rather than taking hotels, and were really pleasantly surprised when we arrived here.

Typical rental apartments are stocked with furniture and utensils from what could be a charity shop or boot sale, THIS apartment was a world apart, we instantly felt that this was a place where one could actually live full time rather than just a holiday rental, the attention to detail and quality of the fitout is as one would expect in our own home.

The location within the walls of the Diocletian Palace gives a feel of security and exclusivity and to have our own balcony was a lovely bonus, we sat and played cards and had a drink before going out exploring in the evening.

There was a previous review that said that during the weekend it could be noisy in the apartment due to the restaurants outside, it may be the case that the restaurants do generate noise, but the double glazing and the shutters of the apartment are such good quality, any noise is immediately silenced when closed. And closed they should be as the Aircon will only work when they are closed.

On the day of arrival Baldo arranged a pick up from the Airport, he then sat down with us and pointed out on the maps items of interest (all of which we made a point of seeing over the next 4 days)

Because we arrived well before check in time, we were able to leave our cases at the Apartment and then went off to explore the area for the next 3 hours, I must admit I was a little concerned about being able to find my way back to the Apartment as the entrance is little more than a faceless door and considering neither of us speak any Croatian we feared the worse.

Fear not!, within an hour we had mentally mapped out the location and by the second day were bravely taking alleyways that we knew not where they led, what we found was literally every corner and alley there would be another bar or restaurant which eventually became familiar (you really could spend the entire break just within the Palace, there is just so much to see and do).

We are already planning our return next year, and are trying to work out the logistics of a two center break, incorporating the sister property.

Owner's Response: Thank you so very much for taking the time to write such a kind and generous review - it's so very much appreciated and I'm sure will be very helpful to potential guests. I don't know if you have access to British television, but our island property will feature on a C4 programme called 'Homes by the Med' in Spring 2017 - so do look out for it - it may further whet your appetite for a return visit!

Great apartment in Split Croatia.

  • 5 of 5

Two couples stayed at this apartment in the centre of Split. The apartment is within the walls of the Roman palace which is very busy. It was also very convenient for all transport, food good coffee shops and nightlife. Importantly for us, it was also very quiet as it was situated off the main thoroufares.

The apartment is outstanding in all respects. Spacious, clean and everything worked including wifi and all appliances. Two excellent bathrooms. A very modern large space in a very ancient setting. Perfect for 2 couples or a family.

Baldo who is the agent for the property was fantastic. He went out of his way to help make our stay a great one including helping with luggage at our departure.

One of the very best apartments hat we have stayed in.

Absolutely stunning!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay in Split and we enjoyed every moment. We were greeted by Baldo, who we can't say enough about. He is charming , helpful, and easy to connect with via text , email or just go next door. The apartment is very spacious. The beds were so comfy, which we often find is a problem in a lot of places we have stayed. It is spotless, well decorated and a great location within the palace. The pictures don't do it justice. We fell in love. Due to its location, We were worried about noise but we never had an issue. The patio has a huge table to sit out at night. We just can't say enough. Thanks again Thea and Stephen for sharing this lovely gem.

Split is perfectly located for exploring the whole of Croatia, as well as the islands. The Diocletian's Palace area is a UNESCO world heritage site. It provides much historical interest, but has all the attractions of a bustling city centre next to the sea - including a beaches which are only a short walk or bus journey away. Besides the many cafés, restaurants and shops, Split also has an opera house, indie cinema which regularly shows English language films, as well as a regular cinema. All in all, Split provides most travellers with the perfect combination of attractions to provide something of interest for everyone.
