perfect stay
The property is spacious, modern and clean. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathrooms updated and beds comfortable. Plenty of common space for family gatherings. Excellent location. Communication with owners was always timely and they were accommodating in every way. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Fantastic stay, perfect location
A group of us stayed at the Stone House for a few days before a family wedding at Mountain Lake, and it was the perfect choice! All accommodations were thoughtful and comfortable, with an impressive blend of technology, comfort, and beautifully curated decor. We hosted a small pre-wedding cocktail reception here; the kitchen was super well-appointed and we found everything needed to prep and serve appetizers to our guests. Overall a five-star experience, we're looking forward to staying at the Stone House again in coming years!

Mike Whiteside and Robert Kulp, Black Dog Salvage founders and the hosts of Salvage Dawgs, purchased this property in 2003 and in 2017 began a complete renovation updating The Stone House for modern-day living with salvage style. Black Dog Salvage was founded in 1999 and is a prominent architectural salvage company specializing in saving valuable pieces of history from the landfill and the subject of the DIY Networks' Salvage Dawgs.

Your host, Christa, is happy to help answer any questions about the property and Roanoke region to help plan your visit.
