Welcome to this compact authentic vintage cabin which is privately situated on a 3/4 acre lot , not far from the main roads and easily accesible to all Berkshire amenities, year round. This cabin is not isolated deep in the woods but the lot is private and the access is amazing. This charming log cabin in a forest/lake association in Becket has an open living room/kitchen combo with vaulted ceilings and skylights. The master bedroom has a handmade log bed, gel fireplace and is set back in the cabin for privacy. There is also a small den furnished with a flip out foam love seat and an armoire. It would be a great spot to sit and read. The cabin is fully equipped, with a washer and dryer in the basement, accessible from outside. Get away from the city and simplify your life. Sit by the stream that runs on the back of the property. Have BBQs outside and sit by the fire pit at night. There is a long front porch with wicker furniture. The cottage is heated with a soapstone wood stove and electric baseboard heat. It is near all area cultural events, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Tanglewood, Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge, skiing, Pittsfield museums and restaurants, non motorized boating, swimming, state parks, theater, hiking

The cabin is cooled by ceiling fans, vented skylights and windows. There is no air conditioning.

Simplicity

  • 5 of 5

Fran, the owner, was very prompt and pleasant with correspondence. She was kindly concerned that all of my wishes were met. She gave me info and maps on local hiking trails, spas and restaurants to visit. The lakes in walking distance were a plus, as well as the nearby access to the Appalacian Trail. I will be sure to go back soon!

First Time to the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed in this lovely cabin for Xmas weekend. When we got there the cabin looked exactly like the photos. Fran even had a bag of goodies for us to keep. Fran was super helpful through the whole process and was very fast to respond. The wood stove makes the cabin nice and warm and romantic. We spent the weekend exploring the surrounding area, the cabin is very close to some very cool spots in the Berkshires. We went to Ice Glen in Stockbridge, which I highly recommend. It is such a scenic hike and the weather was abnormally warm for us so it was a great time. We got to meet Fran on our last day there and she was super nice. We would definitely make the trip out here again!

Owner's Response: When you first called to arrange this special getaway, I got the immediate sense that you would both be a great fit for Wisteria. I am so glad you were able to create some very special memories, and to balance your time between the cozy cabin and the outdoor world . It was a treat to meet you and put a face to the names. You are always welcome back and I want to personally thank you for the ease with which you followed through and also with the care you took with the cabin. Happy 2016.

Great Property

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic experience in this cabin. Everything was provided and the host was very thoughtful. It was just the right size cottage for four guests, peaceful and quiet. Our children had a fantastic time playing in the stream.

Charming Cabin in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

Cabin is tucked away in a serene wooded area of the berkshires. There's lots of privacy and it feels very homey. The kitchen is well stocked so we shopped for food and enjoyed a few meals in the comfy dining room. There is a lake entrance 4 minutes away and a lovely little beach and we were the only ones there. Clean and beautiful. The cabin is a 30-minute drive to many of the local attractions--tanglewood, Rockwell museum, Etc but we found that driving around was an adventure and activity in itself because the scenery is so magnificent. Jacobs Pillow--just down the road--should not be missed, and the dining room is as good as the dancing! Fran was incredibly personable and cares so much that you have a great experience---she'll do anything for you!!

Owner's Response: N, M, R, and L, This review leaves me feeling tickled pink. It makes me so happy to hear all of your positive comments and know that this trip went smoothly for you. I know it had to be challenging to travel from Texas . I am so glad you were all able to take in some of the sights and enjoy some respite at Wisteria. You really put some balance in the mix. The beaches in the forest are like a hidden treasure and a great place to sit and watch the world go by. I love that you were able to make some yummy meals at "home" and catch your breath after all of the adventures you went on . Thanks so much for making this easy to arrange and for the great follow through. I loved all of your notes and look forward to having you all back again some day. Keep those smiles coming. Fran

Perfect little log cabin

  • 5 of 5

The owner of the property was a delight; her communications were all prompt, thorough and honest. A pleasure to rent from someone who really understands the whole concept of hospitality. That said, the cabin has everything you'll need--don't even bring bottled water the tap is delicious. There's wood for the big fire pit, linens etc. Plenty of info on local area but if it's a sunny day you'll probably just want to swim in the lake that's a short walk down the lane. Cabin is perfect size for two adults and two small children.
