Lovingly restored and renovated townhouse with all modern facilities make An Cnocan a home from home.

An Cnocan has 3 double bedrooms, a cosy sitting room and kitchen/dining area. Relax in front of the open fire or step out and discover the town's vibrant traditional pubs and shops. Fishing enthusiasts will be sure to enjoy its close proximity to the River Shannon and golfers can reach more than 6 excellent courses within a half an hours drive. The nearby Slieve Bloom Mountains are a hill walker's paradise while a leisurely drive across the mountains opens up vistas of practically the entire midlands. Scenic drives around Lough Derg, a little further down the River Shannon, can be both spectacular and adventurous with lots of little harbours, pubs and restaurants. The monastic site of Clonmacnoise and Birr Castle once famous for its telescope now boasts of a scientific centre and one of Europe's largest tree-houses are nearby attractions.

Home Away From Home

My husband and I enjoyed a week here while traveling through Ireland for a golf holiday. This home has been 100% remodeled and modernized. Home is clean w plenty of space. Modern appliances and fixtures throughout. Walk to River Shannon, pubs, music. Make meal at home or walk to chipper to top off a day of golfing and exploring. Hosts are lovely! We can't wait to return!

Owner's Response: Dear Page, thank you for your kind review. Kathleen and I are delighted you and your husband enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again in the future. Since your visit we have added a few more refinements which will further enhance guests' experiences. These include a new 32" flat screen television/DVD in the sitting room, a small library of DVDs and books, a selection of board games and a smokers shed. Regards, Donal and Kathleen
