Excellent Getaway !!
Had a wonderful time in this charming clean Apartment. Awesome location and the owner Beth was quick to respond to any questions. WiFi signal was excellent and the large screen smart TV was an unexpected treat! We are looking forward to returning and would definitely recommend this spot to family and friends staying in Rockport.
Very beautiful location, charming cottage. Lots of shops to visit. Awesome views. Easy to visit to local area. Parts of the movie "The Proposal" was filmed there.
Had a great stay !
Beth was very prompt with any questions and very pleasant to deal with. The apartment was very clean and had everything you could need. Had a great stay . The people in the business on the first floor were very friendly and helpful. Not to mention their cupcakes and ice cream were great!
Charming Home Away From Home
This apartment captures the spirit of Rockport and is perfectly located. The owner is extremely nice. The cupcake / ice cream store below is heaven. I’ll definitely return.
Great location but interior is old.
Location was clean, however the interior was extremely old and outdated. There was a hole in the wall when you walk up stairs. The Upholstered furniture was old and dirty. The love seat is at the point it has a old red cover on it. The carpet was stained and the entire apartment smelled like animal urine or a musty smell coming from the cupcake shop. The laundry is located in the dungeon of the cupcake shop and you have to move their junk to wash your clothes. The machines are old and rusted and missing knobs. The tile next to the tub has had so much water damage if you step too hard you wind up in the cupcake shop below. If you are tall you won’t fit in the shower due to the slanted roof. The two bedrooms have cheap plastic shades with no blackout shades available. Get ready to wake at the crack of dawn.
Their are Air conditioners only in two of the three bedrooms and none in the living room. However in the morning you get a lovely view of the neighbor across in his robe smoking. The TV is the old 13in TV’s with basic cable with limited channels, tops 20 channels. The WiFi only worked one day. You need to feed the meter during the day from 10am to 6pm. It’s about a 5 minute walk, but you need to find a spot.
If you care about the location and have low expectations of where you stay, this is the place for you. Location was good and the response from owner was good as well. If you have a family with smaller kids, this is probably not a good fit for your family.
The town of Rockport and the city of Gloucester make up the island portion of Cape Ann. Joined to the mainland by 2 bridges, Cape Ann forms the northeast extreme of Massachusetts. Rockport enjoys a unique tourist setting perched on the edge of the Atlantic's rocky shore. Home to some of America's finest artists, as well as intrepid lobstermen who grace our evening tables with crustaceans plucked from the sea that very morning. A setting to make Norman Rockwell proud, white churches and picket fences abound. Famous in the late 1800's for its granite resources quarried by generations of Swedish and Finnish craftsmen, look for the unique rock walls each worker built around his home during his cherished days off. Sunset cruises aboard a 2-masted schooner complement a day on the ocean photographing humpback whales or fishing Jeffries' Ledge. Each Sunday night on Back Beach the bandstand comes alive with the music of local musicians. Escape into a story-book setting, and relax.
