About this property

Beautiful, newly remodeled private bedroom with attached 3/4 bathroom in basement. Must be able to go up/down 8 steps with handrail. There is an electric fireplace for your enjoyment in your bedroom. You will sleep on a brand new Sealy Posturepedic queen-size bed with luxurious sheets. Attached laundry room with mini fridge/freezer, microwave, air fryer, Magic Bullet for smoothies, clothes wardrobe and dinnerware, napkins and utensils.

Please do not send me a request to stay in my home without telling me something about yourself and who is coming with you. Especially if you are a new traveler with no reviews. Be communicative and make a host feel more comfortable letting you into their home. PHOTO ON YOUR PROFILE IS MANDATORY! I have had people show up who did not make the reservation. Thanks for helping keep everyone safe.

You will enjoy privacy as if you had your own apartment. Private key code entry so you can come and go as you please.

Dining/office area can be used for computer work. It is a shared space for host to walk through to garage/patio.

You will be able to use the patio and deck area which includes loungers and a gas fire pit.

You have a big carport for your car.

My home is within 20 minutes of everywhere in Des Moines.

My home is a very Zen, serene and soothing environment for a relaxing get-a-way. If you are looking for a place where positive energy flows, and you want to sit /on the patio or deck and enjoy the evening by the fire, this is the place.

I work full time from home so I will be home, along with my dog, Bailey (he is non-shedding and hypo-allergenic). Must love dogs and not be annoyed by any sounds of play or activity in house. I am very respectful of my guests and we are very quiet but you will hear us walking around upstairs. I am always in bed by around 9 p.m. and up around 6 a.m. NO OTHER PETS ALLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

No smoking. No shoes worn in lower-level.

Coded entry through garage. Always make sure garage door is closed when arriving or departing. There are security cameras in the garage door opener, on back patio and front deck.

Coffee machine available (ground or cups). If you have a special blend you like, please feel free to bring it with you. I do not provide coffee.

Cleanest place you’ll find!

Robyn’s place was super clean and comfortable. My 19 year old daughter stayed at Robyn’s place during the Iowa State Fair. As a mom I was nervous about her staying a couple hours from home for 10 days. I was also worried about her going to and from the fair. Robyn watched over her like she would her own daughter or granddaughter, and for that I am extremely thankful. Location is perfect no matter what you would be in town for. Very quiet neighborhood. Easy to find as well. Robyn takes pride in her place and it shows. It was literally spotless.

*Location is great and convenient to everything *Condition of the property is excellent *The living space is intelligently designed and beautifully decorated *Everything one needs is within a few steps: W/D, microwave, food prep work surface, refrigerator, bed, bathroom *No sound disturbance comes from upstairs *Access is private and secure *Carport is a great luxury *Outdoor sitting area is wonderful, relaxing and just a few steps away *Robyn, the host, was helpful in every way imaginable When it's time for me to return to Des Moines I will try to reserve this VRBO well ahead of time. Loved it!!

I love to travel and meet new people so decided that having new people come to me would be fun , too. My home is very peaceful and serene. Need quiet time? Need peace and serenity? That's what my property is meant for so please be respectful of that. I have a beautiful patio and pergola/deck with a couple of loungers and a gas fire pit. You are welcome to sit out there and enjoy the evening. No extra guests, no parties, no events. Make sure you watch the video I made of my property.

My number one goal is to give my guests a great experience while staying in my home. I work full-time remotely as an Executive Assistant so I am at home all day in case you need anything. My little 20-lb dog, Bailey, is super sweet and cuddly and loves my guests! He will bark when he first sees you but it lasts about 2 seconds. He is hypo-allergenic and non-shedding.

I have been hosting guests since April 1, 2018, and have had over 1000 guests in my home. I love hosting!

Why they chose this property

I have a generator! No worries about loss of power. We will still be warm and have lights. When winter storms, summer derechos, or squirrels get in to a transformer, no worries if you're staying here. We will have power and lights! Heat in the winter and fans in the summer.

My neighborhood is full of families and people who have lived here for years. It's quiet, safe and within 20 minutes of everything! I have lived in my home for 20 years as of 2023. I love it here and know you will, too.

What makes this property unique

I truly care about my guests and want them to have the best stay possible. I greet my guests when they arrive to make sure they know where everything is and answer any questions they might have. For my protection, and the protection of my guests, I have security cameras in the garage, on the back patio, and on the front deck.
