The Giant of Horebeke is a restored windmill from 1816 in the heart of the hilly Flemish Ardennes. The interior is sober and soothing but with all modern amenities and a well equipped kitchen. The restoration was possible using ecological and sustainable materialen.De organic cotton duvets are filled with Alpaca wool. This contains no lanolin so no chance of dust mites. This makes them suitable for people with allergies and astma.De mill has a garden of 13 a, fully shielded with a haag.Er is a terrace with BBQ.In rural Horebeke is no industry. The region is known for its panoramic vistas, rolling meadows, some wind and water mills but also by the Geuzenhoek (Korsele) with its Protestant community and the old cemetery. Protected weeping beech 150 years old with a 5 m radius and a plaque William I. are worth a stroll waard.De teacher's house was the birthplace of Abraham Hans, Protestant poet - journalist - writer and is now museum.Oudenaarde is near (City Hall, MOU, Museum Tour of Flanders). Nearby there are several hiking trails (Burreken, A.Hanspad ....). The cycling fans will be familiar with the area of \u200b\u200bThe Tour of Flanders. Bikes can be provided.

This 200-year-old windmill stands next to a working farm in the Belgian countryside, strategically convenient for day trips to Brugges, Ghent and Brussels. The spacious grounds are nicely planted by Diane, the owner.. Inside is a mix of up-to-date furniture and antique accessories amidst the original mill workings.
One word of caution; the sole bathroom is at ground level and the steps up to the second floor bedroom are awfully steep. Climbing the ladder to the bunk beds on the third level is nearly straight up. So, if you don't have an iron bladder and don't want to risk breaking your neck at 2 a.m., bring your own chamber pot!
fantastic stay in lovely village. ideally situated in Belgium.
We stayed in the mill for 3 weeks and had a wonderful time. The owner Diana was just gorgeous and ever so helpful! The mill was clean and tidy and the grounds were very well kept. It was very quiet and extremely private. The only downsize was the dog next door but my sons soon became very friendly with her so in the end it was not an issue. I would recommend the mill to friends and family for sure.
Very nice place with a fantastic mill r nAnd a very sweet hostess
Een Don Quichotte molen in een glooiend boerenlandschap, zo uit de boeken van Dimitri Verhulst. In dit bijzondere vakantiehuis waren we echt even helemaal weg.
Heerlijke vakantie gehad in Oost-Vlaanderen.
