The Best Place to stay on the Cape...

  • 5 of 5

Where do I start? My husband and I knew we wanted to rent a place that was in the center of the Cape. What we didn't realize is that there were so many homes available. Having a type A personality made me look at several sites and several houses. We have three small children and their comfort and joy were paramount. For some reason, I kept coming back to this house. From this point on, I will refer to it as a home.

Before ever making a final decision, Keith was more than willing to offer any and all help with my inquiries. The previous reviews were all accurate, and after speaking with Keith, I was sold.

We pulled up to "our" home late Saturday night and fell in love with this place from the driveway! The side porch had the lights on, and there were beautiful hanging plants blowing in the wind. We immediately looked at the lawn and saw the hammock in the background...we were sold!

Keith laid every detail out before we ever arrived. Upon opening the front door, I knew I had made the right decision. My kids were so happy in this place.

From the children's movies, to the sand in the backyard, on to the hammock...they felt a warmth that only a parent could appreciate.

As adults, my husband and I felt at peace. For anyone that has to deal with the everyday stresses, this is your oasis.

We explored the entire Cape and from our experience, we were in close proximity to everything.

Our only disappointment was that the house was booked the week after, and we could not extend our happiness in "our" new home.

Do not let this gem of a home pass you by. Stop looking for anywhere else to stay...you have found your vacation retreat. We will definitely be back.

Thank you!

Clean, comfortable and complete

  • 5 of 5

A delightful Cape Cod cottage in a great, quiet neighborhood that we used as a home away from home for our day trips exploring the area. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen when we decided to eat in. The house was charming, decorated in a typical nautical theme and exceptionally clean and well cared for. The October weather allowed us to sit out on the patio and enjoy the sunshine and cool breezes. Summer visitors would really love the huge manicured yard, hammock and outdoor shower. Excellent and helpful rental information was forwarded to us prior to our arrival. Owner was readily available for questions and answers. Overall a great vacation rental.

Cute and cozy cape house perfect for our small family

  • 5 of 5

I loved my week long vacation at Summer Ayer! The cape house was the perfect size for my small family (me, my husband and our 2 year old). The pictures in the listing were pretty true to reality and met our expectations. The house was clean and very well kept, although there was some dust/mold in the air conditioners. I don't know if this is just because it's the end of the summer and they need to be cleaned, or if they should be replaced. However, we really only had to use them one day because the weather was so nice the entire week we were there. There were plenty of things provided (paper towel, toilet paper, soaps, beach towels, chairs, etc), which made our stay easier. Having a small washer/dryer to use during the week came in handy as well. The house is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and has a really nice yard and porch area to enjoy the outdoors. The walk to Parkers River Beach only takes about 15 minutes. The beach was small, but had bathrooms and a small playground, which my daughter enjoyed. The house is also only ~20 minute drive from Mayflower Beach, which is where we spent most of our time. The house is very centrally located, with grocery stores, liquor stores, restaurants, attractions, etc. all within walking distance. It is right near the main road of Rt. 28, but you'd never know it because it's so quiet. The owner, Keith, was a really great person to rent from, and was very quick to handle any questions or issues we had during the rental process. He was easy to reach and was very organized with the lease and information packet he provided. The welcoming bottle of wine was a really nice and thoughtful touch as well.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at Summer Ayer and did not want to leave. We highly recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

A wonderful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Keith's cottage. There was myself, my husband & our two teenage daughters, aged 17 and 19. The cottage is extremely quaint. It has everything you need and is a home from home. We spent most evenings eating & relaxing on the porch after cooking a meal or going to a restaurant. The kitchen is well equipped & is close to large supermarkets & restaurants.

Keith was a brilliant host, leaving a much welcomed bottle of wine for our arrival & glasses chilled in the freezer (how amazing !!). He also telephoned to ensure we had arrived safely & welcome us to Cape Cod. I was particularly happy that beach towels were provided as it saved me bringing them from England.

The cottage is in a quiet lane and within walking distance to a beautiful beach. It is also well positioned for sight seeing all around the Cape.

We had a fantastic week. Perfect !!!

Without apprehension - GO FOR IT

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well appointed dwelling, and very comfortable, and of course neat as a pin.

No worries there.

Beautiful Beaches are very close by and several to choose from.

Internet access was a breeze for me.

Highly recommend

And Oh dont miss breakfast at the Optimist, a little drive but well worth it.

Also the Skipper restaurant was very good for lunch or dinner, located right at the beach.

First timers!

  • 5 of 5

I have never felt the need to review a vacation rental....until now. I can say nothing but good about this rental. It was perfect in my opinion. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The home was inviting from the time we initially pulled into the driveway. Keith handled my crazy questions like a pro and with good humor. This was our first stay on the East Coast and I doubt it will be our last. Incredible!
