What a wonderful place to holiday. I came here on business with my university, sharing the flat with 6 others, but it still felt like a vacation. The accommodations were excellent - comfy beds, excellent kitchens, updated bathrooms, and adequately furnished. The wifi was a tad disappointing, especially because we had research to conduct; however, the location and castle view made up for the slow & spotty wifi. Contact with management team was smooth and professional. I had no difficulties finding the flat from the AirLink drop-off at Waverly Bridge. I would definitely stay here again, and I hope to book again next year.
This turned out to be the perfect place to stay for our trip to Edinburgh. The flat was very well kept and quickly felt like home after we arrived. The instructions on how to check in were great and it was in an ideal location close to the centre. The owners provided tips on restaurants and things to do and access to wifi and digital TV meant that it was also an ideal place to relax and switch off for a bit. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in Edinburgh.
This is a great flat in an excellent location if a bit hard to get around in August. It is managed by an estate agent who has sub-contracted it to a manager. We had a polite but very hasty welcome by yet another person. No instructions, directions or any of the usual information at all in the flat.
Not clear if the bedroom TV works at all and if so there were no instructions.
For the price we paid I feel there was a disappointing lack of welcome items,just a box of shortbread wrapped in individual packs.
None of the Molten and Brown promised products, we had to go out and buy our own soap. We complained about this and a few other flaws at the start of the week. The soap arrived on the Wednesday lunchtime but nothing else happened.
There was a very limited amount of loo roll.
Superficially clean but poor maintenance including damaged wooden floor with sharp edges, stained stair carpet, around a dozen light bulbs need replacing, especially in the bathroom above the basin/mirror and above the dressing table in the main bedroom, or where you really need them. The bath pop-up waste is broken and it's also obvious that this is not a recent problem as it was left up on the side. There is no shower mat and the bath is quite slippery.
The flat has lovely views but unfortunately the windows are not as clean as they might be.
The bath towels were disappointingly small and thin.
The kitchen is fine but there could be more mugs and several of these are chipped.
The website states that the flat should be vacated by 12.30 but at 11.00 the cleaner arrived saying that the next guests were due at 11.30. Fortunately for them we had already tidied up.
All in all we had a great week in this is a lovely flat in a very central location.
It is just a shame that it is being very poorly looked after and nobody seems to care.
What a great place to stay for a few days in Edinburgh with our five grown children. We were able to spread out and relax after long days enjoying all that Edinburgh has to offer. It is literally steps from the Castle and within walking distance to Arthur's Seat, New Town and Holyrood Palace. The owners were responsive and very helpful.
We booked this apartment for an overnight stay and were excited to see it and utilise the fantastic location. Unfortunately upon arrival we were informed that the owners daughter had decided to use the place for the weekend and therefore we couldn't stay!
What followed was an exceptionally stressful hour waiting to find out if alternative accommodation could be found for us (and the 7 others guests in our party). Fortunately a suitable alternative was found, although there were initially issues actually gaining access without paying another security deposit which in the end we paid and had refunded.
We managed to enjoy our weekend however the stress that this issue caused definitely put a dampner on things and despite being promised a full refund we're still waiting to hear back despite emails and phone calls!
I would've assumed that owners had a responsibility to check if their property was occupied and if an issue like this arose then I would've thought they would have had to vacate given that as a customer you have a contract and pay in good faith to stay in somewhere that you've selected. I was surprised by the whole issue and I definitely wouldn't book somewhere like this again for fear or something similar happening. I'm sure the apartment is beautiful but unfortunately we'll never know.
We spent a family weekend at the property which passed all too quickly.
One of the main reasons for selecting the property was for the view of the castle.
Unfortunately, this was spoilt due to scaffolding covering the complete side of the building in order for roof repairs to be carried out.
The view therefore was restricted and we felt let down (no fault of the booking agency as this was beyond their control).
It would have been nice to have been offered a partial refund as a goodwill gesture because a major attraction of the property was lost.
Apart from this, the property was first class and other aspects of our stay were fantastic.
I have marked the stay as three stars simply because of the maintenance work otherwise I would have give it five stars.
