A top location for 6 people with a stunning view of the square

With a great location in Carcassonne, this newly renovated, 66-sq.m flat boasts four windows that give onto the Place aux Herbes or the fruit market open three times a week. The south-facing flat is full of light and offers a spacious lounge with two sofas, and an equipped kitchen featuring a family table. It all has French hardwood floor from the 19th century. The sleeping facilities include two bedrooms with two en suite bathrooms called "Rouge Corbières" and "Lilas Minervois" for the colour palate recalling the two vineyards in our Cathar region. This is a wonderful location on the stunning Place Carnot because it has free concerts all summer long, permanent amusements, and a magical Christmas display on your doorstep. As a welcome gift on arrival, we provide a local bottle of wine. This is a great place for all halfway between the Canal du Midi and the city of Carcassonne. There are parking spaces nearby making arrival by car easy.

This is a prime, city centre location in Carcassonne. We are just 10 minutes from the airport and 3 minutes' walk from the train station. All manner of cultural spectacles and delights pass through the square. As the flat is south facing, it is full of light and sunny all day long. The kitchen is fully fitted. The living room offers two sofa beds and there are also two bedrooms with two en suites. The wealth of storage space is designed to make your holiday easier.

Central apartment but so noisy

The apartment is very central, views out to Place Carnot are really nice. The living room and kitchen are really nice, better than the bedrooms. The downside is the noise at night from the bars and nightclubs in the street behind, also each bedroom has an ensuite shower / bathroom but there is only one toilet shared by both. The general decor and cleanliness also needs work, there are no curtains (the holes are still there!) and the bed linen , pillows etc are really quite poor. Overall a nice stay but spoiled by cars and shouting in the street behind in the early hours. Max was very friendly and helped us with parking, which was great.

Perfect location to make the most of Carcassonne!

Perfect location for the family to be based during the Feria de Carcassonne - within walking distance to all places to visit and comfy place to stay. Parking directly outside the flat is not possible any longer but there is a large and secure underground parking a short walk away which worked out really cheap if you buy an "abonnement" which we did for 3 days. Max is a great host and full of tips and recommendations to enable you to discover Carcassonne at its best! Highly recommended!

Good location for exploring

Max was v.good at helping out and location above the square makes watching out the front very enjoyable. however the noise on the back where the bedrooms are kind of ruined things. The Irish bar and motorbikes and cars passing through, revving up and music/shouting made sleeping difficult. This is not anything the owner (Max) can do anything about but be aware if you have kids or like your sleep.

This apartment simply oozes charm. It's close to the cité and canal du midi and there are lots of restaurants on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend it.

Neat apartment

Neat apartment. It is ideally located at town square with a short walk to carcassone medieval city. Same owners as cafe downstairs. We enjoyed our stay and liked visiting the medieval city, wineries, museums and churches.

Central apartment with a great host

The apartment has modern decor and is very convenient to the Gare, shops and transport to the medieval city. It has spacious and comfortable living areas and the kitchen is well equipped. The two bedrooms and bathrooms are adequate for a weeks stay.

We enjoyed the buzz of Place Carnot especially for breakfast and evening drinks. There are many good restaurants nearby and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Do take he train to Quillan as it is worth a visit.

Max and the staff at his cafe, Carnot Salon de The, are very welcoming and Max was always happy to help and advise us.

A very good spot to enjoy the atmosphere of Carcassonne.
