When we walked in it was just perfect. We had a girls weekend and the cabin was more than we hoped for. It was so warm and cozy. Everything was so clean and the beds were super comfortable. We definitely will be back. So happy we found this place!!

Beautiful setting/Noisy Cabin

  • 4 of 5

My family, including my parents, rented this cabin for a week in May. It was located in a wooded area, but not far from local amenities. We chose this cabin because it was about half way from several things that we wanted to do while in the area. We rode 4 wheelers in Oliver Springs (45 mins away) and went to the Smoky Mountain National Park (a little over an hour away). The cabin is set back from the road in the trees and feels secluded. It was extremely clean and the decor was cute. My boys enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and I enjoyed that there was a bed for everyone.

As much as we enjoyed the cabin there were a few cons. The two major cons was the bed in the loft upstairs and the lack of insulation between the upstairs and main level. The bed in the upstairs loft needed to be replaced about five years ago. It was so bad that I made my boys take turns sleeping upstairs and my husband and I slept in the bunk room (which had great mattresses) with my other son. The other major con was that the people in the bedroom on the main floor could hear every word that was said in the loft bedroom upstairs, talking in normal voices. They could also hear every time the person who slept in the loft rolled over in bed. Not sure this is a problem that can be fixed. An area rug may absorb some sound.

Minor problems: It would be nice if some of the decorations in the kitchen were removed making room for groceries that are brought. We ate every meal there except for two. We ended up using the closet in the main bedroom as a pantry. Also there is nothing to store leftovers in, ie Tupperware. I was surprised that we were not supplied with trash bags, and the bungee cord on the outdoor trashcan did not keep the "critters" out. They were quite polite though, they prided the lid off, ate what they wanted and left, without a mess.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay there. The mountains were beautiful and a must see in Tennessee!

Owner's Response: My wife and I appreciate all feedback good and bad. We truly appreciate the input. We own and manage 10 of these cabins between Knoxville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We take pride in the way our cabins are decorated. We have gotten many compliments on the decorations. We have a unique arrangement of cabins from horse stables with an apartment to a 7 bedroom bunkhouse located on 154 acres. We have many different guest requiring many different needs. Our cabins are rented by us (the owners). We take every review to heart. This cabin is a true log cabin with floors that are 2 inch wood pine flooring that serves as a floor on the second level and a V-Grove ceiling for the down stairs. This gives a rustic/cabin look both up and down stairs. Most cabins are built this way in East Tennessee. The downside is that with all cabins built this way there is very little sound barrier between the floors. Kitchens are stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans and dishes to serve the number of quest the cabin will sleep. If we have a quest that plans to come in for a special holiday or event and plans to cook a large meal we advise they should bring their favorite pots or pans. Most prefer to do so anyway. We employ two maintenance staff and one cleaning person full time. If there is an issue that arises we try to get resolved immediately. We have a 24 hour number that rings the owners as well as our on-call person. We encourage all quest to notify us of any concerns or needs that arise. It is our hope that while reading our reviews (both good and bad) you will see our hospitality shine through. Thank you from Ken and Tina Gilreath

Exceeded Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I went to Knoxville to visit the TN Gentle Barn (check it out !)for spring break. We wanted to stay somewhere that felt like we were in TN, and this cabin was perfect! It was exceptionally clean and the decor was so log cabin cute! The amenities like a big wrap around porch overlooking a park like setting, plenty of rocking chairs, hot tub, and grill made us stay in even though we had planned on eating dinners out downtown. Where could we get that view and ambiance at a restaurant?! We saved that for lunch and sipped wine and listened to nature from the porch in the evenings. With provided firewood, we built fires to take the edge off of the cool March evenings and felt so lucky to find this sweet cabin. My daughter and I slept very well in the full size bunkbeds downstairs...nice and dark and quiet. Our friends slept upstairs; there was plenty of room to spread out and still have our own space too. The manager stopped by to make sure all was well. The cabins are tucked away off the road (there is another on the property, but they are nicely separated) and we passed the driveway a few times before finding the turn-in, but once we did- we were pleasantly surprised with how seemingly far away, yet really close to everything we were. We will be back! Thank you Ken and Tina, for a memorable experience in TN!

Beautiful Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We were so happy to have found a cabin so close to the University of Tennessee to watch our daughter play softball. The cabin was clean, accommodating, and set in a peaceful area in the woods. We really enjoyed the hot tub, being able to cook meals instead of eating out all of the time, and the kids really enjoyed the pool table. Firewood was supplied for us to use in the fireplace and that made our chilly night very cozy! Great location and rental transaction was easy and flawless! Would definitely stay here again if in the area!

Wonderful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We are so happy we stayed at this location. It's close enough to downtown Knoxville yet, you still get the "cabin in the woods" experience. The property was very clean and spacious. We utilized almost every feature they had to offer (pool table, hot tub, tv,grill etc) and it made the experience even better.
